Default prednisone moon face

Hello!

I've had a prednisone moon face for a few years, but now I'm weaning off prednisone and working at losing weight. Do you think I'll have wrinkles as my cheeks deflate? I'm looking forward to seeing my cheekbones again, but I hope my skin doesn't get saggy and wrinkled.

Hi, I have been on prednisone for 4 yrs. now. My dose is lowered now. I don't have any increase in wrinkles from the lowering of the prednisone. My moon face is now gone. You can hit the link for my pic's if you'd like. It will show the difference in how I've changed with the wt. loss. I really think that the lowered prednisone dosage has helped in my wt. loss and maintenance efforts. I now take 20 mg. on even days, 10 mg. on odd days. I used to take 40 and 60 mg. on alternate days. Good luck and I hope you're able to wean off the prednsione, that is what my Dr. is trying to do with me.

Your photos are great! So inspirational, congratulations!

So your skin was elasticy enough to shrink up without wrinkling. Good to know. My cheeks are s-l-o-w-l-y coming down as I decrease the prednisone. I'm down to 15 mg daily until my next dr appointment.

Thanks again! Keep up the good stuff!

Thank you.

Here's hoping we can both get off the prednisone. (I know that I gained a lot of weight when I was on the higher doses). Even getting on the lower doses does help. I see my specialist again in April and he plans to lower mine more at that time.
