Carol Sue I am sorry the casino trip didn't go well.
My roast went well but I was so sleepy afterwards and slept most of the day, I may have to do something different in my plan. Maybe a shorter eating window. Headed to bed soon. |
I ended up taking the fluid pill and the scale went down 2 lbs, so 174 today. I was only up for the bathroom twice overnight so not too bad. I woke up this morning craving water so I guess I'm a little dehydrated. I never seem to see any puffy feet or ankles but I guess I retain fluid around my heart and lungs.
Sleep was ok. I seem to have a little more energy. I don't know what I'm going to do today. Its still very cold and snow is completely by in tonight. Then its supposed to snow all day tomorrow,several inches they say. A lot of schools and activities will be closed and cancelled. Grocery stores will be very crowded today but empty thru the day tomorrow. Step daughter works for a new car dealership and I doubt if they are selling many cars. She works in service and they are dealing with a lot of recalls so she's busy on the phones, scheduling repairs. Don't buy a Kia. Lots of problems right now. I bought apples yesterday so I will have one today. I bought enough for a week. Today on the radio they were talking about how the hospitals in PA are all going broke. Insurance doesn't pay enough toward care so they are going to be laying off a lot of people. Fewer people are becoming general practitioners because of low pay. Most of the doctors are joining up with the hospitals so they are employees paid by the hospital instead of private practice. There are 3 hospitals in our area all competing for patients. Mine is the smallest and always seems crowded but I guess they aren't getting reimbursed enough for what they do. I know my insurance denied some things related to my heart procedure. One of them was the anesthesiologist. Was I supposed to have this done without it?? I don't know how they resolve this but I'm glad I don't have to pay it! We had a meatless dinner today. I didn't defrost anything so DH wanted scalloped potatoes so that's what I made. There was protein from the cheese and milk in it. I forgot to make the corn bread when I made chili so I made it today. I was craving it. BBL |
Carol Sue I'm glad your weight is down 2 lbs. I've decided that I need to cut back on the carbs. I can have them on occasion but not every day. I actually did that today.
We had McDs today because DH had to go get my oi prescription, but I removed the bun and used SLMG bread instead on mine. I will keep the fruit, veggies and protein and make starchy veggies a rare thing. Weight was back up to 160 lbs this morning but I hope I can get it back down to 155 soon. Goodnight. |
This morning my weight went down 1 lb back to 173. Need to keep going down.
I didn't make it back here yesterday. I got interested in another book. Another weight loss memoir not as good as the other one. I slept good last night 7.5 hours. I can really see the difference on my Fitbit after I put my cpap on. It lowers my heart rate. I've been eating way too many carbs. Yesterday it was Cornbread and potatoes. Its best if I stick with 1 slice of SL toast with my eggs and just vegetables. I've been drinking my protein shakes too. DH says they are old but not that old and they taste fine. Next time I will get 2 flavors for variety. Texas Roadhouse sent me an email with a coupon for a free appetizer for my birthday. I often just get an appetizer for my meal or we can get an onion blossom if DH wants it. My birthday is next Wednesday. I will be 78. Im starting to feel more energetic. Maybe I will start back exercising today since its snowing and I dont want to go anywhere. We got 2 inches overnight and its supposed to continue off and on until we get 3-4. The roads have been treated but there were several accidents early morning before the trucks got out. Im glad I dont have to go to work anymore. |
Scale down to 172. Yay! Finally. I was going to have a protein shake last night but didn't remember until I was snug under the warm covers. So no.
I think its done snowing. Nothing big. Yesterday we ate at Rodneys then went to Goodwill. While in Goodwill it started to snow. When we left the roads were covered. Our SUV is all wheel drive so we did ok. A little slippery. We live 7 miles from Goodwill and its hilly. It was rush hour so lots of people coming home from work. Everyone was driving carefully. I ordered wings. I ate all but 2 and brought them home for Rusty. DH had fish and I ate some of his fish. It was all good. I don't like this new book I'm reading. It was free so I might not finish it. I didn't exercise yesterday. I really meant to but I was lazy. Once I get the first day in I should be ok. Its hard to get started. |
I just looked up my ideal weight. Ideal is 117 lbs which will never happen unless I'm terminally ill. It says between 101-136. 136 would be a possibility. Thats what I weighed when I got married. I was just curious to know and now I'm not sure I'm happy that I found out. I thought a goal of 140 was a stretch but I don't think I've weighed 117 since 8th grade. A tally I just want to do the best I can, and a number I can maintain.
I am finished eating for today. Started at 10 am and finished at 2:25 so 4.5 HR eating window. 1325 calories and 127 carbs. Too many carbs but I will have a long overnight fast. I hope I can not eat the rest of the day. I will have water. |

Weight stayed the same. I can't remember if I took my second fluid pill. I'm getting old and forgetful! I slept for over 8 hours. Fitbit says it was good sleep. I think DH is going to want to go to the casino today. He wanted to go yesterday and I said no. The only good thing about it is we don't eat dinner. I can't keep saying No. He will be miserable. |
Yesterday I decided to get serious about my woe. I will have 2 protein shakes a day for breakfast and supper. I will have one meal and allow myself a snack if I need it. I did 6 days of exercise this past week and I plan to keep that going too. I'm not exactly doing low carb as much as I want to eat less carbs but eat one meal a day. Although weight is160.0 lbs today, I did see 155 lbs a days ago and the gain is from sodium because I forgot to take my fluid pill a few days. The fact that I saw the 155 lbs made me realize I could get there and if I can do 155 then I can see 150 and then I just might be able to see 140 and then maybe 130 etc. I would love to see a healthy 125 lbs. but sure that will ever happen. However for now I'm going to work towards 155 first.
DH finally decided to get himself a cellphone. Now we are trying to get it set up and then teach him how to use it. I guess we will work on that today. Hope you have a good day if you end up going to the casino. Hope everyone has a good and safe warm day. |
We didn't go to the casino. I think DH figured I would say no so he didn't bring it up again. I took NY strip steak out of the freezer. DH made mashed potatoes and I cooked frozen corn. I wanted peas but couldn't find any.
Your plan sounds good, Trish. It will actually be rather low carb with two shakes depending on what you have for your main meal. and I doubt if it will be high carb. The second book I was reading started to get better. It just had a slow start. Its about her struggle with compulsive over eating, coming from an abusive home life and marrying a man who doesn't understand her struggle. Her weight goes high and low. At one point she was eating twice a day. First was a slice of bread with butter and second was a cup of bullion with peas. Then she would go back to overeating all day, fast food and restaurant food. Its interesting . She tried WW and OE. Also had psychotherapy. The therapist quit on her. I never went that far but have dealt with compulsive overeating. I don't think I do that anymore. I too have been skipping fluid pills. I have to be careful because if I get all congested again I will end up in the hospital again. I don't want that. Im going to clean up from dinner and go back to reading my book. |
I have reduced meat intake and increased plant based eating. Still having dairy. Today we had salmon. I am having more carbs, but mostly healthy ones.
I was 178 the other day, have not weighed since. I am realizing there is no magic bullet for me. I have to do this for real, and want to get lighter before my surgery. So I will just DO IT Good luck friends. |
I have come to realize that I need the protein and also need some healthy fruits and vegetables as well as a small amount of starchy vegetables.
Carol Sue The book is interesting. I don't thing I could eat as strict as she did. I'm sure your DH will want to go to casino soon. Fatmad Hope you will be able to lose as much as you want before surgery. I didn't know how to count the beef veggie soup so not sure how accurate it will be. But tomorrow will be my 1st day back OP. Trish there are many ways to count the soup. You can enter a choice from MFP. Or you can enter components such as beef broth, enter vegetables separately and meat separately. Various choices. Its a guess either way. Scale still says 172. Sleep was good. 3 am we were up with the dog choking. I thought he was going to throw up but after we got up and put lights on he was fine and we all went back to sleep. He goes under the bed and I think the dust gets to him. He's not allowed on the bed. I will have to run the Roomba under the bed. Thats why I bought it. Used, from Goodwill. It will get the dust that's under there. I agree DH will want to go to the casino. He likes Wednesday but will go any day. Wednesday is my birthday and I dont want to spend it at the casino but that might be the best day to go for weather. We don't do anything special for birthdays, but I would rather spend it at home alone than the casino. Today we have to go to Wal-Mart and senior day at Goodwill. Its still cold but no snow. Overnight it is going to be freezing rain with an icy start, then it will be in the 40s the rest of the week. I worry about step daughter driving to work in this weather. She only has a few miles but its dangerous, hilly. Step son and wife have a very long drive but its highway and they chose to live way out there. They both have 4 wheel drive vehicles. Step daughter needs that, too. ____ _______________________ Cold trip to Walmart. I got more Pure Protein shakes and also got a 4 pk of Muscle Milk shakes to try. I have already tried Premier and Equate and didn't like them as much. In fact there are 2 in the fridge that are expired. Im going to start having one in the evening to up my protein. Trish,I just found a,recipe i would like to try and it says its a southern recipe. I've b never heard of it and wonder if you have. Its called Chicken Spaghetti. I don't know if DH would like it. |

Carol Sue I've never heard of chicken spaghetti being a southern recipe. I've only heard of it online by WW dieters who use ground chicken or turkey instead of beef. I've tried to eat ground turkey to substitute beef and I think that is why I don't like turkey any more. I have used the Premier protein shakes for years but now when I drink one it gives me potty issues and after drinking 2 of them a day for the past few days just makes the situation even worse. I will continue to diet because I know I can and I want to get healthy. Weight was down .6 lbs this morning. My calories for today was 1366. Have a good nights sleep. |

Trish,this chicken spaghetti uses cut up cooked chicken like off a rotisserie chicken, not ground. And hit uses a can of diced tomatoes instead of sauce and it has cream cheese and yellow cheese melted in it. Its very unusual. It can be cooked on the stove or baked in a casserole. I'm going to make it but don't know if DH will eat it. I love chicken and turkey but when I want ground meat it has to be beef. There was one restaurant that served very good turkey burgers. The seasoning made it taste like beef. They never reopened after Covid. It was a favorite of ours. Is there artificial sweetener in Premier shakes? That could be why you get potty issues. I have MFP set for 1200 calories and yesterday my food came to exactly 1200. I couldn't do that again if hi tried! I don't lose at 1200. I have to stay below. I used to lose below 1500. My metabolism has slowed. My carbs have been too high, too. Over 100. I know what I have to do but I don't do it. I don't pay much attention to fat and protein but I do have protein daily. Just not a lot. |
I'm very chatty this morning. DH went to get his hair cut. Its a good thing I signed him in online because when he got there there were 4 people waiting and he got to go ahead of them. He looks nice. He wanted me to go too but bun I don't want my hair cut right now with colder weather here for a while.
While he was gone I cleaned Rusty's eyes. They get black gook in the corners and it has to be cleaned out. I don't like to do it while DH is here because he doesn't like the way I do it. I use eye wash meant for humans and it works well. When he does it he uses water . I don't think it works as well. I had eggs and a slice of SL toast for breakfast. I woke up hungry. I don't think I will eat again until dinner. Maybe we will go to Texas Roadhouse and use my birthday coupon. The sooner I do that the sooner I can get back to dieting, which I really need!! |
We went to TX Roadhouse and used the coupon. We got an onion blossom appetizer. After eating thar neither of us was hungry for our meal. I got chicken but brought most of it home for Rusty. DH got steak kabobs and brought a lot home for Rusty. Lucky Rusty. I also brought home most of my baked sweet potato. Thats just too much food anymore.

Carol Sue My DH would not like most of the items in that recipe. In fact, the yellow cheese is the only thing he does like. So I won't be making it.
My weight seems to be staying at 160.2 lbs. It is going to take me a while to figure out what my woe should be. Ever since I was in diagnosed and unable to eat docs were pushing for me to drink protein. While in the hospital, I was able to drink the protein shakes and some of my tastes for some of the foods they gave me made me crave them such as some of the juice they gave me for breakfasted tasted soooo good... especially orange and apple juice and then banana and applesauce. Now there meats I don't care for any and I experience the same thing with some veggies. On days I get the combo correctly my FBG is under under 100 and I have been surprised it has been done with less protein and more carbs. DH likes mac and cheese especially with tomatoes so he might like the Chicken Spaghetti.
For some reason I've been waking up hungry at 4 am. I don't know why. I felt sick overnight from the onion blossom. Too much onion,but I will eat it again.Its so good when I'm eating it! Just not afterwards. So this morning I was hungry at 4 am. I told DH I wanted a sausage egg mcmuffin from McDonalds. He went at 8 am and got them. Therefore,I didn't weigh until after 2 cups of coffee and breakfast, so the scale was up 2 lbs to 174. I know its because of dinner last night and breakfast this morning. We are going to the new casino today. I like the old one better but the traveling is better to this one. Whatever he wants. It also means I wont be eating dinner. We don't eat when we go to the casino. The restaurant there is very expensive and doesn't have things I like. Its not a food court so I can't sit there. I did my vibration platform yesterday. I was reading more about it and its very interesting. It is actually used in therapy to help frail adults gain strength, which I really need. Many people with my condition need a pacemaker so if I get one I wont be able to use it. So I will avoid getting one. Or else concentrate on building up my strength before I get it. Its getting warmer here and raining so our snow will get washed away. Just in time for more snow next week! |

I finally got a person online with the cellphone company that I could help me by answering my questions and setting DH and my 2 phones. We got his phone Friday and just now got someone who actually helped got my phone upgraded and added his to the original account. I'm still working to get everything organized for this year which I hope we will have done by the end of this week. I used to do everything, but I think DH and I both enjoy doing and do better than the other. I notice that there are things he seems to like doing. So we are sharing chores and it really works and I enjoy not having to do especially with cooking. Maybe my diet will get better too. Goodnight. |

I want tocook a pork roast today. Pork is my new favorite meat. Its big so we will have a lot of leftovers. Trish, I'm glad you are getting things organized and DH is helping. I need to do that too. I hate setting up a new phone. I don't like my new one as much but LG doesn't make phones anymore. They were my favorite. This time I got a Motorola. _______________________________ I didn't take my pork roast out early enough for it to defrost so DH "made dinner." He went to the local grocery to play the lottery and bought a rotisserie chicken and 2 donuts. He stopped at Dollar General for ice cream. Came home and made home fries and I cooked broccoli. I will cook the pork roast on Saturday because DH will want fish tomorrow. |
Carol Sue I always loved my LG phone and hated it when they quit making them. We are with Straight Talk from the when Walmart started offering them in SC. We have Samsung. I got mine free a few years back when they stopped LG and they said I had to upgrade, So that was easy to switch to new phone easily, We both have Samsung but different versions. I really think the woman I talked to didn't do her job helping setting up. When I would ask her what something meant she would just tell me to skip it for now then nothing would work after that. It finally activated but nothing would work on his and some things I couldn't do that I could before. The man got everything working now and I am trying to help DH learn how to do some things he can learn on his own.
I think pork meat is my favorite meat too. Our 21st anniversary is Saturday so I might cook a port roast. I've got both beef and pork. Weight was down to 159.4 this morning and my FBG was 108, The strange thing is that this happens with me eating more carbs and less sodium but sodium not too low. Got the house phone disconnected so I am almost done with this week except I forgot to do all my exercises yesterday. I still one more to do for today to get 60 minutes done today. I'll try to get everything else done tomorrow. I will try to get organized and check in earlier in the day. Have a good nights sleep. |

DH uses Consumer Cellular for his phone and never wants to switch. He uses a flip phone and I dont think he could figure out a smart phone. He always gets mine screwed up and I have to fix it. I still have Tracfone and like it because it is so cheap. We still have a landline. It is cheap because it is tied in with our internet and tv cable. Most people call us on the landline. I got a good nights sleep and feel good. Not hungry yet. Scale is down 1 lb to 173. I need to do better and get down lower. Its important to me. I need to eat more vegetables. I've slacked off. Im craving carrots but I want to get some full size carrots to cook with my roast. I usually use baby carrots. Dr Fuhrman says even though carrots are higher carb the fiber is more important. I don't get enough fiber. I also want to get more frozen peas. DH always likes canned but I like frozen. We watched a lady on tv cook fried green beans and I want to make them. DH said he would eat them. For some reason I usually cook broccoli but I need to eat different vegetables. Here is the show where we saw the fried green beans. Carol Sue My phone is a Tracfone, but I never figured out how to use it and ended up on google. By the time I realized I could have been used instead of google I was already on it. I don't know if DH could use it or not.
I didn't get everything done, but we got the cellphone working and learning how to use. Tried to find out when my next treatment is but I guess they were too busy to calll. Hopefully they will send me a message or email this week. Weight was down to 157.2 this morning. I'm trying to figure out what is causing me to have potty issues and I finally decided that I can't eat fruit. I can't prove it because I can't figure it out for sure but I think when I had potty issues back in SC and I thought it was caused by metformin, that maybe it wasn't the metformin. Maybe it was the fruit that I had added to my food plan back then. I'm going to give up fruit for a while. In fact, I've decided to do a fast with the church I watch on tv is going to do a fast I think in February. He is teaching his church on different ways to fast Biblically. One of the ways is the way some church's do by giving something for Lent. I'll come closer to doing it faithfully if I do it for Bible thing than a weight thing. So I will give up fruit during theif fast which I think is either for 21 or 28 days. I'll have to check that out. I finally got all my exercises done about an hour ago. Those I refuse to let slide. I'm upset that I had at least 3 or 4 days I forgot to do all of them everyday. I still need to make a Anniversary card for DH. I'm not cooking tomorrow because DH bought steaks for to celebrate our 21 yrs together. I will go on our PCP portal and erase the home phone # and add DH cellphone. Check in how to setup a separate email address so I can learn how to use somethings on my Medicare Advantage plane. Have a good nights sleep. I was so tired last night. I went to bed early and didn't post. I think that was even before you posted,Trish. Anyway, we went to the old casino.. He wanted to go and the weather was nice. The temperature was in the 60s. The place was so crowded, I guess everyone wanted to go out with it so warm. DH didn't win but brought most of his money home. I enjoyed reading in the food court but I ate an order of fried rice and it must have had tons of sodium. I slept poorly, tossing and turning and my fingers are very swollen. Rings are tight. But the fried rice was very good! The Asian station is only open on Weekends and we rarely go on the weekend. Scale is back up to 174 in spite of taking my fluid pill. You take a chance and learn your lesson. I never make fried rice at home because DH doesn't eat it but it would be healthier. During the night when I didn't feel well I remembered my trips to the ER.But I didn't have any breathing problems like before.
I'm so glad you are staying in the 150s. I know how hard you worked for this, exercising and watching your diet. I know once the exercise becomes a habit like it has for you, you will do it regularly and it will become a permanent part of your life. Although it doesn't directly contribute to weight loss it contributes greatly to health and indirectly to weight. I'm starting to get my energy back. I've gone back to taking the b complex vitamins I was taking before and maybe they are helping. I might have iron defiency anemia but I still don't want to eat a bunch of red meat. If I'm still low energy when I go back to the doctor in June I will discuss it with him. In the meantime I will do my best on my own. I know losing more weight will help. I did some leg exercises in the car on the long ride to the casino. I did a few arm exercises too but stopped because the people driving by probably thought something was wrong with me! :lol: I used to do that years ago and I even took my hand weights with me in the car. Today I am finally cooking the pork roast. I bought a bag of big carrots to cook in with it instead of baby carrots. I know a carrot is a carrot but the roast will be cooking long enough to cook the big carrots. DH wants them, too. I was going to make rice pilaf too but after the fried rice issue last night I changed my mind. Maybe mashed potatoes or peeled potatoes in with the roast. |

Carol: it was sunny and warm for awhile here yesterday, so I sat in the gazebo and people watched. Buddy was on a long line and sat out with me too. After a while a friend came over to visit and we had a good gab. Then DH finished his online meeting and came out, and we ate popsicles. This is funny, because by warm I mean by January standards, so it was maybe 4 or 5 degrees, I think about 40 F. But in the sun it felt nice and warm, and we were dressed for the weather.... But I was pretty hungry yesterday, and today, not so much. I was going to go out to sing and play tonight, but I have been sneezing and sniffling all day. Covid test is negative, but perhaps a cold is coming. My attitude now is to stay home and keep sniffles to myself, I don't want to share this with anyone! Have a good weekend friends. |
Fatmad I don't think I could sit outside today in 51 degree weather. In fact, I am sitting in the recliner wrapped up in my blanket. I pray you don't get a cold.
Carol Sue I am not surprised you were tired having gone to the casino twice this week. I'm you are showing signs of short times of energy. I am finding that I have energy when I get up and start my exercise. My strength is getting better as well, but I'm not at the place yet where the strength lasts much past noon, but I think the 2 or 3 days of potty issues. Plus my DS continues to remind me that my body is still healing from surgery. The same thing is true for you as well. I remember a doctor I saw after the stroke told me that some time we have good and some time we get bac and enjoy the good we get. I use my energy I get during the mornings to get my exercises and other things I need to do before it runs out. Then I rest until I get some more energy. The exercise makes me feel better sp that is why I have started exercising 6 days and off one. Weight was basically the same today which was up .4lbs, but that wasn't a gaiin. My calories today were 1208 and I'm finished eating within 5 hr eating window. Have good weekend everybody. |
Mad I understand how you feel that it is xxx warm for January. I didn't go out too day but DH said its cold, and by that he means it was 47F. Cold compared to 60. I saw the forecast and its mostly highs in the 40s with no precipitation.
Trish, I know I would feel much better if I got back to exercising but its just the first day is hard to start. My pork was good but there is so much leftover. We will give some to step daughter to eat for her lunch but her husband has gout and can't eat pork. I don't understand how he eats kielbassi. I have gout but I take meds. He does not apparently. I don't know why he does not take meds. I might ask him. I hope I sleep better tonight. |
The scale is up to 176 this morning! Holy cow!! I better make some changes now! This is getting way out of hand! I didn't eat a lot of carbs yesterday and my pork was very lean. I don't know what the problem is. My rings are still a little tight so I guess I'm still retaining fluid even with taking the fluid pills. I don't think I had a lot of sodium, either.

Carol Sue I understand how hard it is to start exercising. I would not set out to do a lot of exercises in the beginning. I started doing what I could and sometimes it was only a few minutes and finally built to what I wanted to do. It took me a while to get to this place. You will do it and when you do just do as much as you can. Do Not Overdo it.
My weight was still157.6, but FBG was 109. I might have to give up the fruit or eat less of it. I will have to see how the tests I do shows. I saw a post by Dr. Gundry, I think it is his name, which I am sure is an ad but it is about Fasting along with other things. He mentioned everybody should fast 12 hrs between meals. I didn't watch it all but I will go back and see if I can watch all of it when I have time since I have come to believe I probably need to fast and learn what foods I should &should not eat. I have to go for Lab draw tomorrow in the morning. Still don't know when I have infusion but probably Friday if they keep me on this schedule. Have a great day everybody. |
Trish, I would not want to fast 12 hours between meals. I like to do two meals with 4-6 hours between then overnight.
I have never been a big fruit eater. As a kid my mom bought oranges and bananas. Then as I got older she stopped buying them because money was scarce. DH likes fruit, like plums,,strawberries and bananas. He also likes grapes and raisins. I eat none of them except bananas. I would eat an orange if someone peeled it for me. I eat apples and bananas but often forget to buy them. Fruit is never my first choice. If I was told to stop eating fruit it would be easy. DH wanted to go to Wal-Mart but I said no. He could have gone himself. Im tired and want to sit. He went out to play the lottery and was going to get fish sandwiches from Arbys. He came home without them and made La Choy chicken chow mein. I didn't want that but I ate some. My fingers are still swollen. I hope your potty issues stopped. I have had them today so my swelling might go down. Many things can cause it. Sometimes it can be meds but mostly something you eat. I don't know what caused mine. They are mild. Years back when I was exercising regularly I rarely missed and my blood work was great! That was in 2010. Then I had my bowel surgery and never got back to it regularly. I have done it sporadically since then. Many people say you do not have to exercise to lose weight and that's true. Weight loss happens in the kitchen. But I've recently been reading how exercise influences weight loss thru your hormones. And its important for health and fitness. Fitness happens in the gym. That does not mean you have to go to a gym to exercise. You can exercise throughout the day the way you do. I think that's best. Our bodies were made to move. And food is meant for fuel. We have offered our weight station to son in law and he said yes he wants it. But he has to come to take it apart and haul it or I will sell it. I need that space so I can get the free step I want. I still can't make up my mind. If I get that I know I will get back to exercising. But I don't know if I want to spend that money. I don't NEED it. I have everything I NEED for exercise. But I did it at cardiac rehab and I liked it. It was my favorite! I'm not sure we will know how to put it together. I will pray about it and God will give me an answer. |
Carol Sue I wouldn't want to do a 12 hr fast either. I really like doing 4 to 7 hr fasts and I just need to figure out whar hrs to do and what meals I want to eat and which foods I can tolerate and what foods I can't.
Today has been a fairly good day and the potty issues were a little better than yesterday. Got to go to bed soon so I can get up and get ready to go for Labs done and DH needs to go to Sam's on the way home. He wants Chinese so that will be our main meal tomorrow. Good night. |
The scale is back down to174 today so the 176 was fluid. One ring is still a bit tight. I don't usually wear it all the time. I usually just put it on when I get dressed up. But I don't want to take it off now because it is letting me know where my fluid stands. The other ring I wear all the time and its back to normal. My ankles never seem puffy to me but sometimes the doctors say they are.
My potty issues are gone. I hope yours are too. I also hope your labs go well and they schedule your infusion. I don't know what we are going to eat today but DH will be asking. On Monday we usually go to Wal-Mart and senior day at Goodwill. Maybe for dinner we can get the fish sandwiches that DH didn't get yesterday. They are very tasty for fast food fish. And its somtthing small for me to eat because I don't get fries with mine like DH does. |
Carol Sue I figured your weight gain was fluid. I think that is mostly what mine is up because it isn't usually too high. I just need to watch the sodium. I think that has been my problem when I try to do low carb. High protein diets have a lot of sodium. I think that is why they say not to eat a lot of processed foods. I love Arby's but all that processed meats have a lot of sodium.
My weight was back down to 157.2, but BP was up so I guess it isn't all sodium. :?: Headed out. BBL Have a good day everyone. |
I think all processed foods are high sodium, like the packaged meals DH likes. What can I do? I try not to eat much of them. He mostly eats them for lunch. I like to make RiceARoni for a side but I don't use the whole seasoning pack. I like it but I know its high sodium. I try to consider what I've eaten all day.
I got a new credit card in the mail but when I went to activate it I couldn't find it. Today I searched until I found it and found a new Target card, too. Im so disorganized. I tried to activate the new Target card today but I could not find a place online that said activate. So I will just try to use it next time I'm there. Targets website is a nightmare!! So we are leaving soon for Wal-Mart and Goodwill. DH cooked breakfast for me but didn't eat any himself so he's asking for food already. This makes it very hard for me to stay on plan. I don't want to give up my eggs for breakfast. But if he doesn't eat then insists that I eat dinner with him its not going to work. For years I didn't eat dinner and controlled my weight. I would happily continue that eating schedule now. It seems he wants to interfere. If he's going to eat OMAD that means trouble for me. Most people who eat OMAD eat dinner. I'm different. I choose breakfast for my OMAD. ___________ The Arbys fish does have high sodium but for the days total I just have 1390 GM of sodium and I'm to have up to 2000. That's how I figure it. My total calories were 1100. I don't think I overate today. My breakfast is usually under 400 calories so I can eat dinner as long as I keep it small and don't eat lunch. By the way, I don't like the Muscle Milk shakes I bought. They are too sweet. I'm drinking them, but won't buy them again. |
Carol Sue I have a similar problem with DH on my woe. I told him I was going to give up fruit for a few days or weeks to see what might be going on with the potty issues and he just can't figure out why I would do that. However, there certain things I won't bring in the house that I can eat that he can't because of his BS. I just do the best I can too.
I ate the Chinese food we get and I have to say I truly enjoyed every bite. Then because I want to eat only 2MAD, I had oatmeal for supper. I need to fast for 6 month Doctors appointment that is coming up early March so I want to get used to fasting because of my Fasting Lab that has to be done at 1:30 pm. Our docs appt. is at 3:30 pm and I don't have to fast but I do have to weigh. Things were weird at Oncology but I did get an appt. for infusion on Friday for my infusion so everything worked out and that is what counts. My calories was around 1328 and I managed to get all my exercises done for today. Over all it turned out to be a good day. Goodnight. |
Trish, im surprised that you have to fast for a 1:30 lab draw. I know you can do it but its just unusual.
I love Chinese food but seldom get it. After the fried rice fiasco at the casino I might never eat it again. All DH will eat is the LaChoy Chicken Chow Mein. We went to a local Chinese Buffet once and he found enough things to eat on there. I don't know if he would do it again. I loved it. There are a lot of Chinese Restaurants in our area which I find surprising. We also have an over abundance of Pizza and Italian restaurants. Today I'm making Mac and Cheese. DH requested it. We can't go out because son in law is supposed to come over after work to get the weight station I dont want anymore. I wanted to give it to DGS. I asked his dad but he never got back to me so I guess its a no. He better not come back and say he wants it after I give it away. I hope you are over your potty issues. Mine are here and there. Mostly I'm just glad I'm not constipated I think mine was from protein shake, .the one I don't like, the Muscle Milk. It probably has artificial sweetener. I want a happy medium. The scale was at 173 today, so going back down gradually. |
Scale is up 2 lbs to 175. Im not surprised as the Mac and Cheese was very good and I ate a lot. Then DH made popcorn. I slept pretty good and my rings are a little tight.
I have not been able to get my security camera app to work since I got my new phone a couple months ago. I thought my subscription expired. Then I noticed the charge showed up on my credit card so I tried again and now its working. Only problem is they don't offer the same notification sounds and I liked the ones I had. They were very loud so we knew someone was out there. I had to choose new ones that I don't like as much. DH said it worked when he let the dog out this morning. You can buy a speaker for in your house so you can hear it better. I might see how much that costs. We never got much activity on it before. Sometimes when the neighbor cuts the grass he gets in range of the camera. We had no unexpected visitors. DH just wants to know if anyone comes on our property during the night. Never happened so far. |
