Because I take my Glimiperide only when I need it I don't put it in my daily pill box. I think I need to change that because today I ate a scrambled egg at 7AM when I got up and at 10AM my blood sugar is down 45 points. I know I took the Metformin because it is always in my pill box. But I don't think I took a Glimiperide, but I really can't remember. So I don't know if the blood sugar drop was due to eating the egg, or taking the Glimiperide. The reason I don't like to put it in my pill box is becaue I'm afraid someday I will take it automatically, even if my blood sugar is already low. That would be dangerous.
I'm a mess. I need something, I don't know what.

Did I tell you what I did with my pumpkin pie yesterday? I baked it for 15 min at 425, but when it was time to change the temp to 350 I accidently punched in 530. Halfway through the cooking time I opened the oven to check them and the crust was totally black! The rest of the pie was fine, but we had to cut off the black crust around the edge. I am getting very forgetful and and absent-minded, having trouble concentrating. I thought this only happened to other people.

My friend's mother did something similar. She was baking a meatloaf when her DH got sick and they called an ambulance. She wanted to go with the ambulance, so she thought she turned the oven off, but she turned it all the way up by mistake. When my friend got to the house it was beastly hot and the meatloaf and the inside of the oven was completely burned and black. She was lucky the house didn't burn down.

By the way, I don't eat pie. It was for DH and step-daughter.

Hello Ladies. I started my ToM yesterday and have been pretty miserable since. I don't feel like doing anything. Plus I feel cranky lol.

The weather is dreaful here, was just 2 degrees last night. And the wind is harsh. No way I am going out in that. Hopefully I can summon the energy to do the Wii later. I usually feel better during ToM when I get moving but starting to move is the hard part lol

Carol Sue what if you had a separate pill case for the Glimiperide? That way you could tell if u took it or not but won't accidentally take it? I am sorry you burned your pie, that is pretty much how I always am in the kitchen lol. Very forgetful or make silly mistakes. I blame it on my bipolar lol.

Shannon I am sorry about your hair! Bad haircuts are awful. Luckily it will grow back!

lettingslenderin I love the multiclix. I used it before and it was the best. Now I am using the one that came with the ultra touch and I hate it. Just a pain to use. i wanna switch back but everytime I go to the store they are out of them lol

Moonkissed, the separate pill case is a great idea! I never thought of that. I have a little round one with only 1 space per day from when I wasn't on as much medication. I could use that! Thanks! I tried to give it to my brother-in-law one time and he wouldn't take it because he says that's for old people. Well, I AM old! LOL

I also have to start carrying some meds in my purse, too. Sometimes we are out and then decide to stop for dinner somewhere and I have to eat without taking my meds. It would help to have some in my purse.

No more TOM for me, and I don't miss him one bit! Only problem is, you have to accept being old along with it.

Sometimes when I get online there are no new posts in my favorite threads and I just start reading other threads, just to see what everyone is up to, or might I say, down to. This morning I came across this very interesting, informative thread from 2008, where a poster gave a great review of a book she read about blood sugar, and I wondered if anyone else here had ever seen it. It is a sticky in Dieting With Obstacles.

Sorry that I missed checking in yesterday. The day just seemed to get away with me. I've really been fairly lazy this week just doing what I have to do because I don't seem to have much energy after my bought with the flu. I did decide after talking to my sister yesterday. (Thursdays are usually our talk day... thank God for cell phones. She lives in TX and it is almost as good as being there.) Any way she was telling me that her little 4 yr old grandson has the flu and the only way they knew that was what he had was because he kept telling them that his legs hurt. I remember last Saturday that I couldn't understand why my legs ached so. That with the fact that my neighbor told me that it starts the way I was with a scratchy throat. I am doing better but the cough and lack of energy seems to taking its time getting out of here. My neighbor had the same problem.

Well, I tried the eating every 5 hrs and the late snack. Only reason I did the snack was because DGS has been in FL since the 1st day of this year and I have been staying up late with DH although I try to get my 7 to 8 hrs sleep. After eating every 5 hrs Wednesday, my fbs was 129 yesterday morning. Last night I ate a late low carb snack because I got hungry just a bit before bedtime and my fbs this morning was 132. Maybe not up enough to worry about, but I do like the 129 reading best.

I don't seem to get hungry before the 5 hrs is up. Although I do still like the IF 8 hr window best so I will make my time more of a 4.5 hrs apart. Doing that with IF, I only have time to eat 3 meals with no snack. I really like my last meal/snack to be 4 hrs before I go to bed. As long as I don't get any high fbs readings while eating just the 3 meals within 8 hrs. I am not going to change. I have done 2 days of exercise this week on the recumbent bike as well as the other activities that I do. Will try to get one more day in this week. I think that will work for me until I get my energy back to normal.

Carol Sue Thanks for sharing the link to the Power Foods link. I have bookmarked it to read later.

Shannon I wanted to thank you for sharing about the probiotics info. I had taken some of those a while back, but never finished them. I do have problems with yeast and can always tell because I actually get a yeast odor when I go pee when it acts up. I am taking the probiotics again because I've been having the smell again lately.

Hope everyone has a nice day.

I am having computer problems again. I'm getting pop-up ads so bad. They pop-up on top of each other and I can't even read the boards. I have run a quick scan that got rid of a trojan, but the pop ups are still there. I want to run a full scan which takes a couple hours. DH doesn't like when I run a full scan. He says it screws up the computer, but that's the only thing I know to do.

Later.

Thank you for welcoming me to your group. I may have to take a little LOA. After being away, I'm behind on a lot of stuff and feeling overwhelmed trying to get caught up. A lot of it is stuff I need DH's help with and he is burried under stuff too.

Hope you all are doing well.

Take care

We might have the computer fixed....maybe. Still getting some pop-ups, but I think they are the normal pop-up that you get after you visit a site. The other ones I was getting were popping up right in the middle of the screen. You couldn't get rid of them, and they were popping over top of each other. Yoi!

A couple days ago I accidently opened an email I shouldn't have opened. I clicked on it by mistake. Said I won a million dollar lottery in some other country. LOL Then yesterday, DH was trying to download something for his brother. Of course, when there's something wrong with the computer it's always something I did, never him.

I got my Fitbit Zip - I wasn't prepared for it to come with zero user information. Even now that I've set up my account, there's nothing that says hey, here's what you do. Um...???

I have a One, not a Zip, but it should have come with user information. Here it is online.

http://assistlycustomers.s3.amazonaw...t%20Manual.pdf

Basically, the Fitbit should start holding and recording your information right away....steps, distance, calories etc and you should be able to see it on the display. Just clip it on or put it in your pocket and go about your day. If you use the dongle that came with it, plug it into your computer, it should "sync" which means to transfer the information from your Fitbit to your account. At midnight, all the information on your Zip will go back to zero, to start the new day, but it's not lost. It is saved in memory until you sync it again. Then you can look at the information on the computer. If you choose, you can track your food and additional exercise. I pretty much just played around with the online account until I found everything. I don't log my food or exercise. Maybe someday I will.

If you have any specific questions, just ask and I will answer the best I can.

Thanks! I found everything eventually, but it's not very intuitive. It seems like when you set up, there should be some kind of walk through. It would make things a lot less frustrating. I mean, the info is all there, it's just not easy to find.

Started to feel better this morning. I am pleased to say that I woke up ready to get up which I haven't felt that way since just before Christmas. Everyday for the past 3 weeks I have just drug myself out of bed and forced myself to do what I just had to do and nothing else. We decided yesterday not to go to church today because neither of us really felt like it and I decided that I need to give myself another week to continue healing since it seemed that all I've wanted to do was sleep. However, I have continued to eat OP.

I've still been tweaking and decided to use the guidelines of the Low Carb Dummies book because I think I need to work on weight loss as it seems that my weight has stabilized at 216 bouncing between 216.2 and 216.8. So I am making some changes... changed some things yesterday although I had already eaten so real change started at dinner. it must have worked as my fbs this morning was 120. So things are improving. I'm just adding more fiber foods in the form of grains and legumes and just eating good fats. I can't control what I get when we go out to eat, but I sure can control what I fix here at home. We are going out to eat today at Steak 'n Shake after we pick up DGS from airport and I am planning to eat some kind of salad with meat for lunch instead of the hamburger I usually get.

Well, I want to get some reading done. I want to read the info on the link Carol Sue on Power Foods before we have to leave.

Y'all have a super Sunday.

I have started logging my food again. That should rein me in. I was looking back to my notebooks I kept since 2010. My weight hasn't changed a lot since then. In 2012 is when I did the best. Around the time of my abdominal surgery I got down to 181 and stayed there for about 6 months but went steadily up from there. I didn't see a big change in what I ate, but it was probably portion sizes. That's my biggest problem.

I had a very good breakfast this morning. Scrambled eggs with mushrooms and spinach, and a piece of sausage. I'm making meatloaf for supper and I don't like the potatoes DH likes with meatloaf, so I should be able to pass on them. Probably brussels sprouts for a veggie, since I bought some yesterday. I hope I can stop eating at dinner and not snack in the evening.

Trish, I'm so glad you're feeling better. These respiratory ailments really take a lot out of you. Whatever I had only lasted a couple days. That might have been because I got a pneumonia shot this year, but then I usually get sick in February and March instead of earlier like everyone else. Our hospitals are full around here with flu cases.

Secondhalf, good luck with your Fitbit. My friend is so far ahead of me with hers. I try not to be competitive. I try to improve on what I can do, myself.

Mad, you are doing well with yours, getting near 10,000 steps per day. I can't even do that in a week, but like I said, I'm not trying to be competitive with anyone but myself. If it improves what I do, I'm happy.

Hope everyone else is doing well.

My goal for the next few weeks is 5000 steps and then it will go up by 1000 monthly. I'm going to have to make time to walk. It's been FREEZING here, and raining, and in south Louisiana we just don't have clothes for that

I'm just a few pounds away from my first goal I set for myself, and I've already passed the one the diabetic nurse set for me for next month so I just have to KEEP GOING
