Oh yes, you can definitely be proud of yourself THIN . . . I am such a lamb lover, too . . . I favour roast leg, well infused with garlic, though -- the chops don't call to me as much. The leg is a leaner cut.
My vote is for pharmacology too CASANDRA . . . Glad to hear the BGL is doing well. After that not so great start to the day, my BGL was 5.8 (104) and lunch and then 5.4 (97) before dinner. Wonder what tomorrow will bring. Later . . . gang . . . |
Morning! Bg was 151 this morning. Still not sure why it is staying up like that. It is raining, so I will probably not get a walk in outside. I will try to get some on the treadmill, but I am having arthritis problems in my ankle, so I may not be able to. I should have gone to water aerobics but overslept.
THIN: Awesome pictures! You are doing great! CASANDRA: I agree..pharmacology. No matter what, folks are going to want their drugs. You will always be able to find a job. ROSEY: Aw, I am sorry you are sick. Feel better soon! MEOWEE: Hope you are doing ok and the fearless threesome is not driving you crazy! Off to run some errands! |
Oh wow MONET . . . so happy for you that you've finally gotten some much needed rain . . . I had been hearing about how awful the situation was getting in parts of Georgia.
My BGL was high again this morning too -- 7.6 (137) -- seems to be my new pattern; especially if I sleep in (didn't get up until 9 am this morning :o). Hopefully it will go down as the day progresses. Nothing awful with the felines so far . . . although I did have to keep digging them out of the cupboards and boxes I was poking into this morning -- hopefully I'll get a chance to tell you all about it later. . Anyway, gang of mine, I am on the run today and it is going on for 2 PM, so I'd better get moving and shaking. At least it is a gorgeous sunny day with unseasonably warm temps (in the mid 20's - mid to upper 70's) being predicted. Very strange, but also very enjoyable. See you later . . . :carrot: |
I didn't check my BG again this morning (I know, I know - stop scowling at me Meowee!)
Pretty good day, still eating well... have to tidy up the house a bit now and then get my cardio done. I posted a few more pics of me at 215 and of me today standing/full view... the pics are good incentive to stay on track... I hate seeing myself how I was and I'm still not that happy about how I look now, but it's getting better and I'm getting healthier - and that's more important than looks. |
Be happy THIN  . . . you've come so far and I know you will continue the great downward movement . . . now get on board with the BGL testing . . . :kickbutt:
Anyway, I'm back from another 2.5 hour mall-crawl and feeling great. Here's what happened . . . I woke up this morning with a new quilt running around in my head and so I spent the morning letting it out. After I got the design down on paper, I started rummaging around in my fabric stash. (Removing cats from boxes and shelves as I went along, of course . . . they are sooooo nosey.) Found about 15 pieces I though would fit in to the plan and then went shopping for more. I now have 32 fabrics which should be enough since it is only going to be wall-hanging/lap-robe size (about 35 x 45 inches). Now, of course, I'm anxious to get started . . . but I am trying very hard to restrain myself. I really need to get busy with Christmas stuff first. Hopefully, I will be a very good girl . . . but not making any bets on it . . . Also bought two new pair of pants in my travels -- really on sale -- since I refuse to pay more than $20 for something I hope I won't be able to wear for very long.:D Oh . . . since I got up so late this morning; my eating patterns are all stirred up too . . . but I'm happy to report that by the time I got around to having my second meal of the day, the BGL was 4.9 (88):). Of course, I really wish I could get things a little more balanced . . . don't like these morning highs at all. :( Hope you re all having a great evening . . . :carrot: |
Oh wow, you make quilts.. how wonderful :) I am prtty well useless for sewing etc...
Can you pot a photo of the fabrics and he work in progress? Thanks for your comment on my pics - this thread and the posters have helped me achieve it. |

Good Morning . . . :grouphug:
It's pouring rain this morning; but it is fairly warm. I'd be happier with sun even if it was a lot cooler. Got up to a TP covered bathroom again this morning. I'm pretty sure the culprit is Freckle, but don't really know for sure. Unfortuntely my BGL is up again this morning at 7.7 - almost 139 . This is very annoying. Maybe I'm still going hypo in the middle of the night even though I'm not shooting insulin? Guess I'll have to start checking the BGL when I get up to go to the bathroom . . . such a nuisance . . . because then I either have to eat something (because I'm low) or I have trouble getting back to sleep anyway (because I'm fully awake by then). May just have to start playing around with the new quilt project this weekend -- I definitely would not bet against you ROSEY :D and I'm glad you are feeling a little better --Hey, it's too wet to go Christmas shopping, right? :p THIN, I've been quilting for over 30 years although not too much recently because it is a very addictive pasttime and I'm literally buried in quilts and so are most of my friends and relatives :dizzy: Last year I did a few quilted clothing projects and will try to dig out some old pictures. I have an awful lot of unfinished quilts around so I won't post any pictures of the newest project until (if) it is finished -- don't want to jinx it. :) Will definitely spend a bunch of time with Gadzella this weekend. I moved Tramp from the SunRoom to the LivingRoom this morning . . . the first stop on his probable trip to the garage. Funny, at the beginning I thought I would love the Rebounder and be so-so about the Gazelle; but it has definitely turned out the other way around. Maybe Tramp will get back into my good graces if I become bored with Gadzella. ;) You know, I got thinking this morning that I still haven't gotten the hang of being satisfied with a couple of bites of anything. For the things I really, really  -- like chocolate and peanut butter and ice cream -- a couple of bites always leads to a couple more, and so on, and so on. Until I learn a little more self-control, I'm better off not having them in the house. BUT (and the point of this rambling dissertation ) . . . I am a little better when I can get them in portion-controlled sizes -- has anybody come across those little one portion packets of PB (like the restaurants give you) in the stores? Have a great moving and shaking Saturday . . . see you all later . . . :carrot: |
Evening! I got the kiln going and it fired off this afternoon. I will unload it as soon as I am able to tomorrow, then probably go for a glaze load. Meowee, I hope to get your pieces in there, though I am still vacillating on which rust orange glaze to use. I SHOULD test it before I put it on the mugs, but I can feel my impatient genes swelling...
Eating was pretty good today. I had oatmeal, a banana and a glass of milk for breakfast, an open face roast beef sandwich for lunch, and steak with broccoli and pan sauteed new potatoes for dinner. I made another batch of whole wheat graham cracker and peanut butter balls today and ate two of them for a snack. (they are 100% whole wheat grahams and low in sugar. I got them from Amazon, and boy are they good! ) The recipe calls for honey, but I use agave, and instead of milk powder, I use whey protein powder. It ups the protein and makes them a nice healthy, high protein snack. ROSEY: I hope you are feeling better and better... MEOWEE: I wish I could give you some effective advice on the morning bg levels, but I don't have any! I can't understand why mine is high in the mornings, but it is. It has crept up to the 130's, and sometimes, if I forget my metformin at dinner, it will be higher, like even 190 in the morning. I don't think it is necessarily a rebound effect from going low at night. I think it just climbs and climbs all night. It is rather frustrating. The doctor I saw this week did not seem overly upset about it. I think he wants to see what getting the thyroid levels optimized will do for my other problems. If he gets the thyroid right, everything else may just normalize on its own. One can hope anyway! :) THIN: Meowee is not the ONLY one scowling at you! Even if you only check your bg in the morning and at night, you really ought to do it. I never remember to check it during the day, but I am into the habit of it in the morning and before bed. You are doing fabulously! :cheer: |
Morning . . . :grouphug:
I've been up since 5:00 am -- on purpose -- to check out the BGL situation. At 5, I was a nice 4.7 (slightly under 85) and compared to my mid 7's (around 135) when I sleep for another couple of hours -- interesting. Mine definitely was on the way down rather than climbing all night because it was 5.6 (101) when I went to bed last night. OMG, this disease is a nuisance. Anyway, one day does not a pattern make, so I will be trying this for another couple of days. Sooooo, I've had my breakfast (purple pancake -- protein pancake with frozen blueberries and my two coffees) and now (almost 7:30) I'm going to see if I can get another hour or so of sleep. Wish me luck. See you later, gang . . . |
Hi guys.... BG was 6.1 this morning (109)
I had a bit of a breakthrough last night. I exercised while my husband was home. I skip it when he's home, or stop it if he comes home early. I'm under the gun with my trip approaching... I want to look really good and I have to shop for some new clothes before I go- so I'm in overdrive right now. I decided I had to do it, whether he was home or not... and I did for an hour of Cardio. Meowee - how is the gazelle doing? |
Hi everyone..another cold day here.. lots of frost on the ground this morning.. my flu turned into an awful chest cold and have been coughing up my toenails ugh..my sl was 84 this am.. dont feel like doing much:?:..thin wtg on exercising with your dh home, thats quite a step..meowee and monet hope your day goes well..ttfn (((hugs))) rosey

Rosey, hope you feel better soon, keep warm, drink hot tea and take it easy.
Hi everyone, hope you are enjoying your Sunday, we have beautiful weather in Toronto. Today I took my gold watch and 3 rings to the jewelers to be resized... they were falling off me, my hands have lost weight? LOL I went from 8.5 to 6.5 fingers and my watch was just spinning around my wrist loose, they had to take 2 sections of gold off. I wonder if my earlobes have lost anything?. lol |
Good Morning . . . :grouphug:
Up early again this morning (5:30) and my BGL was 5.2 (about 94). It's now 9:15 and I'm about ready for a nap. ROSEY . . . take care of yourself, Chickie . . . get well quick. THIN . . . Everything loses weight . . . even your earlobes. I'm sure they were the first place my weight came off. Nothing terribly exciting for me today. After my nap and lunch, I guess I'll do a little errand running and that's about it except for spending a little time with 'Zella, of course. The weather is absolutely beautiful. :sunny: and relatively calm. High predicted to be over 20C (over 70F) -- almost unheard of for the latter half of October. Wow. Nothing exciting in my e:mail the past few mornings, but here is a cute litte FFFF for you . . . Some dairy farmers believe that creating a relaxed, tranquil environment helps cows produce more milk, so the farms pipe light country tunes or classical music into their barns. Apparently hearing rock music makes the cows produce less milk. Have a great moving and shaking day, gang . . . see you later . . . :carrot: |
Good morning everyone
7.1 this morning... (127) blah. I don't understand it, I am being soooo good. Question for you, if you were going to eat something that had sugar in it. Is 11 grams of sugar a lot? |
