Hi everyone..another cold and cloudy day here and spiting rain..at least its not snow..i had a better day of eating yesterday and decided to not be so obsessed with the scale..went to bingo last night but i did not win but was fun anyways..i have swiss steak simmering on the stove(made with moose of course) and plan to work on some xmas projects.. my sl was 94 this morning :carrot:the meds must be working good as the day of "junk" foods didnt seem to affect it much..ttfn  rosey

Ok, my sweet friends, no whining about your morning bg! 121 sounds wonderful to me! I was not that bad yesterday...and mine was a whopping 191 this morning! I am so glad I see the new doctor tomorrow morning. I sure hope he can get things figured out, because I sure can't! When I first started on Byetta, my bg was PERFECT...and even on days when I fudged a bit, it was still good. Now, the byetta seems to work for a while, but over night, the bg just climbs. I will let you all know what happens.

I need to go pull some handles! Later!

meowee 10-16-2007 10:01 PM

Gee MONET . . . you seem to be getting a run of lizards with inconsistent spit levels, or something . . . hope the doctor can figure it out for you. If pulling handles doesn't make you feel better . . . try throwing something. :s:

Oh ROSEY . . . glad to hear you are back on track and that your BGL didn't suffer. But what's happened to your Bingo winning Streak? Losing is not like you. Hey . . . at least you had fun.

Boy THIN . . . one of the sad facts of life as a diabetic . . . sometimes you can figure it out . . . but mostly you can't. No way to explain it. Try not to get too upset about it, though, because the stress of worrying over it will only make it worse.

Well gang . . . I'm off to bed . . . see you tomorrow . . . :grouphug:

meowee 10-17-2007 09:17 AM

Good Morning . . . :grouphug:

Another one of those days when the weather can't make up it's mind about sunny vs cloudy. It has decided that pretty cool is a definite, though.

Well, I slept in until after 8 am this morning and the BGL was pretty good at 5.7 (103) so guess that blows the theory about sleeping-in having a negative impact. Now, if THIN comes along with the same number, things are really going to start getting creepy around here.

Today's e:mail from Everyday Health provided the same kind of in-depth write-up as a couple of days ago, but this time all about Diabetic Neuropathy -- the far more common (and usually less seriously dangerous of the DN's). Almost all diabetics will develop some, hopefully minor, neuropathic problems. But don't become complacent about it because Diabetic Neuropathy is by far the greatest cause of non-traumatic amputations, especially of the lower extremities.

http://www.everydayhealth.com/Public...=1&searchTerm=

I've given the article it's own sticky so now we have pretty complete information available on both the Diabetic N's -- Neuropathy and Nephropathy.

Anyway time to get back to the more mundane -- Nothing really big in my plans today -- must do some laundry. I'm definitely planning another good eating day and will also definitely be spending time with Gadzella. Think I just might put the Tramp away for a little bit. Can't get past 5 minutes on it without my ankles really starting to bother me. Maybe it will be better after I become more proficient with the Gazelle. :^: In the meantime, it's taking up a lot of space. Especially when it's main purpose at the moment seems to be to act as a cat-rest. :dizzy:

Hope everybody else has a fun bunch of stuff planned . . . keep things moving and shaking, gang . . . :carrot:

ThinGirl in FatBody 10-17-2007 10:10 AM

Didn't check my BG this morning... but again I was good, no cheating at all and I'm feeling pretty good.

under 5 weeks now until my trip... still a chance to lose a few more pounds before I gain 10 on a cruise ship :dizzy::o:devil:

I wanted to check in while I was free for a few minutes. I had my appointment, and I am really excited! This doctor told me he treats thyroid by symptom, not lab tests! So he will increase my meds until I feel good, not until the lab says I should feel good! He started me on a second thyroid med today, and I already feel a bit better. My morning bg was 137- not great. He told me the thyroid stuff could be contributing to the higher numbers, and so they drew about ten vials of blood to check everything he could think of for a base line to see what is going on. Once we get the thyroid back to where it ought to be, and I can drag my butt out of bed and get moving more, I am sure the weight, and bg will straighten out. At least, I hope so!

I spent some time in the garagio this afternoon and threw a few piggy banks and a nice big narrow necked bottle. Still have not gotten to pull handles, as the stuff is not dry enough yet.

ROSEY: I can relate! My hubby loves to be on the computer, but since he is a computer programmer, and my son used to work with computer hardware, we each have our own. Sure is nice not having to fight the whole family to get on the computer now!

OMG . . . MONET . . . a doctor that sounds sensible. What luck. Hope there are nothing but good times coming for you . . .

Good Morning . . . :grouphug:

We have a gorgeous (but cool) sunny day out there today. Yippee . . . hope it lasts a few days. Things are relatively calm with the feline menagerie this morning, too. Only downer, so far is that my BGL was 7.4 / 133 first thing this morning? After being good all day yesterday?

This is the usual Thursday "shop 'til you drop" outing with my friend LouLou. That will probably make up the bulk of my exercise for the day, too. One of our stops will be to get a flu shot . . . how about everybody else???? It is that time of year, gang. They are especially recommended for anyone with a chronic ailment that results in a compromised immune system (like Diabetes).

Anyway, everybody, hope you have a great day planned. Keep doing the good stuff and I'll see you all later . . .

ThinGirl in FatBody 10-18-2007 03:50 PM

You know, I haven't had the flu - ever... just the occasional cold. I'm almost afraid to get the shot incase it changes my luck.

Same for my daughter, she has never even had an antibiotic except for a cream one time when she had a rash. She has never had flu either.

Still being good here, exercising and eating well. Tonight I am making my hubby Rack of Lamb which is a HUGE weakness for me, I love those fatty lamb ribs with lots of salt. I am going to try my very very best not to be tempted and just have my grilled chicken and brown rice supper, but it's going to be hard. :(

akrosey49 10-18-2007 04:26 PM

Hi everyone funny u should mention the flu shot as ive had the flu since last night.. ugh.. im feeling all washed out but some better..hard to keep the sl normal when everything comes back up or out:ohope u all are having abetter day then me , ill check in later rosey

ThinGirl in FatBody 10-18-2007 04:45 PM

Hi guys... I posted a couple of pics of myself...

the first at 215lbs last December

and one I took today at 163 lbs

Here is the thread if you want a peek at ThinGirl in FatBody :)

meowee 10-18-2007 05:01 PM

Oh wow THIN . . . if it wasn't for those gorgeous eyebrows, I would never have thought those two women could even be related. . . You look absolutely marvellous . . . Also, I sincerely hope you never do get the flu.

Aw ROSEY so sorry you are sick . . . hope you feel better really soon.

BTW . . . although exceedingly unpleasant, what you are descibing sounds like a stomach flu (often food-related) and your system is doing a good thing by trying to get rid of whatever is bothering it. Biggest danger is dehydration especially if the problem doesn't resolve within about 24 hours.

The flu that the Flu shot is aimed at is the "knock down, drag out, hit by a truck, can't stop shaking or lift your head off the pillow, lasts a good two weeks" kind that often displays with just respiratory system involvement and little or no stomach upset. It can be deadly for the very young, the very old, and those with compromised immune systems.

Thin is hawt!!! :o

Very nice!!! ^____^

I'm trying to figure out whether I want to study Clinical Pharmacology or Clinical Psychiatry...

Its driving me mad, not having a specialist...skill...thingery.

My diabetes is doing better now, though my weight loss isnt, seeing as its wintery cold now and exercise is almost out of the question for me. :(

ThinGirl in FatBody 10-18-2007 08:28 PM

Thanks Meowee, Casandra :)

I'm so glad I'm not the girl in pic #1 anymore... although I am inside. Know what I mean?

Casandra.... so many people taking meds for one thing or another I think you would great a great job in the Clinical Pharmacology field.

I am so proud of myself tonight... I made rack of Lamb for my DH and didn't have a bit (or two) like I usually do! I find lamb so hard to resist...tonight is the first time I haven't caved and scarfed one down.
