Thumbs up THE Pop cake & Dreamsicle Cake (& variations of)

Does any one know the WW point on this:

Dreamsicle Cake
1 lemon or orange cake mix
10oz. diet 7-up
1 pkg. orange kool-aid
Mix these ingred and follow baking directions for cake(bake at 350 in greased pan)
When cake cools, use fork to poke holes all over. Mix a small box of sugar free orange jello with a cup of boiling water and a cup of cold water. Pour over cake and chill at least 3 hrs.
Once chilled, mix 1 small box of sugar-free, fat- free instant vanilla pudding, 1 small box of sugar free jello and 1 cup skim milk. Once mixed add 1 8 oz. container of fat free Cool Whip. This is the frosting.
Sounds great--if I don't get a response I'll try to figure it out--thought maybe someone else had already gone to the trouble.

I

I just get any brand of cake mix. The last one I did was chocolate cake mix, dt. cherry cola (10 oz) and 2 egg whites. Based on all the different posts I have read that it is 2 pts, I counted it as 2 points. but, I have never added it for myself.

bluesky - I've seen the recipe for a boxed cake mix and a can of diet soda. I've used a chocolate fudge cake mix and diet coke or pepsi to make this. The soda is 0 points and if you cut the cake into the number of servings on the nutrional label you can use the cal/fiber/fat counts for the mix only to figure out the points. Does this help?

I just came to this section to tell everyone about this. It is awesome!! My group leader told us about it last meeting. She rounds off that 1/12th of the cake is 3 points. I made it tonight and it was so good!! I did Fresca and yellow cakemix. YUMMY! Also I did diet Dr pepper and Devils food I have it cooling now! It makes a very delicate cake though. I think either I will use it for mini cupcakes next time or put it in the fridge before I cut it to firm it a little. But the yellow mix and Fresca was soooo good!

Here are some other cake ideas:

an angel food cake mix with a can of crushed pineapple (in its own juice) 9x13 pan at 350-let it sit awhile so the cake will raise, about 15 min. before baking.

a spice cake mix with a can of 100% pumpkin-this tastes like pumpkin bars-I topped them with a mixture of FF cream cheese and ff cool whip!

The POP cake is great- I spread FF pudding, then FF cool whip, and crunch a slim fast bar on top and it tastes sinful!

Thanks Kelli!

I have also fixed it using other flavors. Such as raspberry, strawberry, and peach. Just use Diet Sprite instead of orange soda, and whichever flavor Jello!

Default Cake w/ soda big success

Hello All,
Just had to report on the cake made with diet soda. I couldn't believe the recipe would actually work or be any good when I first read it but since I LOVE cake I just had to try it. I used a Betty Crocker (has less calories and fat than Duncan Hines) Lemon Supreme cake mix and a diet Sprite for my cake and I cooked it according to the temp and time directions on the box - when it came out I poked holes all over the top and mixed a cup of boiling water and a box of FF SF lemon jello and then poured it over the cake. I put it in the refrigerator over night and Easter morning I topped it with 1 - 8 oz. carton of FF cool whip. It was a HUGE success with all my family - they didn't believe me when I told them what I used in it. It is wonderful - I will make it again but next time I think I'll jazz up the cool whip with some FF SF dry pudding mix and some crushed pineapple mixed into it and put it over an orange cake - can't wait for that one - sort of like a mandarine orange cake which my DH loves! Try the cake and you'll be a believer too -

Amcap - use a mixer and it won't clump... I think I'll go add that to the recipe.

My favorite now is to use lemon flavored jello and diet lemonade, insted of the orange. Yum!

Smile Choc Cake

I fixed the choc cake mix with diet pepsi and couldn't believe how good it turned out. I made the icing with cool whip and dry sf instant choc puddin mix. You just fold the dry puddin mix into cool whip a little at a time.
It turned out great and was 3ww points.

For an added treat:
1 bag frozen or fresh berries or fruit(16oz)
1/2 cup splenda
1 box white or yellow cake mix (or any flavor you like)
1 can diet pop (peach on peaches etc)

spread fruit in bottom of oblong cake pan.
sprinkle with splenda.
spread DRY cake mix on top.
pour pop over cake mix and bake until golden brown.
a great cobbler for only 4 points (probably a little less, but
I always count it for 4 point) Top with fat free cool whip if desired.

You can also make cookies with the same stuff!!!! 1 cup of Quick Oats, ya know the kind without anything in it but oats, 1 box of cake mix, and about half a can of diet soda will yield yummy cookies if baked at 350 degrees for about 9-12 minutes depending on cookie size. 1 serving is about 2 points.

Default Re;

1 box of cake mix is 48 points for the box.
1 diet coke is 0 points.

48\12 = 4 points per serving. You can make 24 cupcakes and they are 2 points each. but the piece of cake is 4 points!
