good morning gang

Duck season opened on Friday down here. Dh gets up about 4:30 in the mornings to go so figured it would be a good time for me to get up early and get back to my walking. Well this morning I got up long before 5 am and put on my tennis shoes and then....I found other things to do instead of my walking. gooooooooooood grief!!!! But I plan to do better tomorrow morning.

Liz - Endometriosis! yikes! do you think that is the reason for the health problems that you were having that they were trying to figure out? Let us know how you are doing and how you will be treating it. hugs!

Leenie - sounds like y'all had a good day at the car show. Glad you got 20 minutes to yourself yesterday. Sometimes we have to take whatever we can get huh how's work?

Judomom - remind me about school....are you a teacher? or an administrator? how are you working in your exercise since school has started back up?

How is everyone else doing?

Leenie - glad you asked - my plans and goals for the week are to get up by 5 am and get in 30 minutes of walking and to drink more water then I've been getting in. I'm working on an ice cold bottle right now I get WW weekly newsletter each week in my email and today's is "Get Back on Track with Water". It says that we lose an average of 10 cups of water daily.

ok I gotta get back to work chickadees. hope everybody has a blessed day.
hugs,
Cathy

Hi Everybody!

My Goal for this week is to be more active. I've been a bit lax on the exercise dept. I guess that probably explains why I've been soooooooo tired lately too.

Next week is my bday and my anniversary so hub and I are taking off work and going on vacation. We decided to go to this little secluded place that is only 2 - 2 1/2 hrs away that you can rent cabins and they have hiking and all sorts of "ACTIVE" things to do!

I hope you all have a wonderful week and here is a little to everybody!

Well gang you can probably tell from the way I'm dragging my feet getting in here this morning that I did NOT reach my goal this morning. I was up until almost midnight bec we had teenagers at the house so I didn't get up early and walk *sigh* But I Am drinking water water water.

Hey SassyChick - I know exactly what you mean. I'm draggin these days too and I know it's bec I'm not exercising. Funny how that makes you feel better and gives you more energy. Wow - sounds like you'll have a great week next week. Which birthday is this for you? and which anniversary? I mean how many years?

Hey Leenie - I sure hope y'all get to eat some of those apples. Ya know, I have never picked apples before. hmmmmm hope you have some nice weather for that apple pickin.

Liz - how ya feeling girlie?

and where is the rest of our gang today?

Hello Everyone!
I am new to this board, but am loving all of the support that I am seeing here. I started my first diet ever last monday, and so far it has been rewarding, yet challenging. I find it challenging because, I'm 19 years old, and both my mother and brother can eat whatever they want and not gain an ounce, lol. So, I am making good choices on my own, and going grocery shopping with my mom so that I can get what I need to sustain my diet. The diet I went on is The Zone diet because it seems practical, and you can have anything you want as long as it is the right proportion and ratio. When I was little, I was never a skinny minny, but I was not fat. I was thick and athletic. As I grew, I was always a little beet heavier than I should be, but it wasn't because of fat, I was muscular from playing outside.. I just had a big build... About three years ago, my uncle passed away, and I was really close to him. The weight started pouring on. I was depressed and developed panic disorder, and food was the only thing I could turn to. I wasn't enjoying anything but eating. I went from 160lbs ( a healthy weight for my size), to 212.... I felt horrible and was disgusted with myself. I have since sought therapy for my depression, but now I feel it is time to reverse the damage that I did these past three years. So far, I have lost 4lbs, which is pretty good considering its only been a week. I get migraines, and they are triggered by hard excersize, so my doctor only allows me to do light excersize, like light dancing or a 30 minute walk. I feel like I wont lose weight doing little excersize, but he assures me I will. ..

Wow, look at how much I have blathered... anyway, this is my story and I look forward to joining this group...
Good luck, everyone!!

I am ok just too darned busy.....and so worked up I can't sleep...I need to shut down for 24-48 hours and rejuvinate.

I miss everyone here.....feels so fragmented....everything goes in cycles.

I am sending a prayer or a thought to each and everyone of you that for this moment you are doing exactly what you need to do for health happiness and hope.

Good morning

Tilly and congratulations on losing the 4 lbs, thats a teriffic start. You sound like such a smart young lady, I mean starting your very first diet and doing it so sensibly, good for you!!!! I know what you mean about losing a loved one and turning to food. When my sister died thats exactly what I did, and in doing that i gained 100 lbs in about 7 years. I'm happy to hear you are making changes now instead of waiting as long as I did and having the problem get worse. to you!!! and again, welcome to 3FC's.

Cathy sorry your having (or had) a rough morning.....remember the beauty of life is that today is a new day to try again. Water is a good start !!!

Sassy happy anniversary and b/day early and congrats on moving your butt with WATP have fun on your vacation.

Liz, your not kidding when you said it feels fragmented... I feel the same way but your right, everything goes in cycles. Hope your feeling okay.

Apple picking was fun, the kids had a wonderful time and so did I. Those little girls are just so sweet (the group I had to watch).

Today is my first dental appt in ut um..... (hanging head in shame) 8 years.. yep 8 years. I get such wicked panic attacks that I stop breathing when I'm in the chair... so this is really gonna take alot for me today. But, I need to go.

How's your day?

GEEPERS Tilly, another 4 lbs, that ROCKS !!!! Yes panic attacks stinkaroonies. I did make it thru today but they didn't do anything but xrays. This friday I need to have my wisdom tooth pulled yuck.. now the fear starts LOLOL, then after that they will clean and fix the rest of the problems (the following week). The doctor was shocked that my teeth were in good shape but thats because I clean and pick them myself besides brushing them alot lolol. I'm not a soda or candy person (cept chocolate) so maybe that helped. So tell me about the zone, is it low carb? Thanks for the prayers

Cathy thanks for the prayers.. phew its over. Hope your wednesday is a good one

Whatcha all cooking for dinner tonight?

Leenie!
Yeah, the weight seems to be melting off so far. My mom says its because I'm young, but maybe my body was just waiting for me to shed these pounds, lol.. I'm not expecting the rapid weight loss to last, though. Um, no the Zone is not low carb. It is all about having the right proportion of everything, and avoiding high glycemic- high density carbs, most saturated fats, and most starches. You can eat whole weat bread and tortillas, you can eat muffins and cakes made from oat-flour.... and it recommends that you get most of your daily recommended carbs from fruits and vegetables, and your fats from nuts and protein, etc... It's a fairly simple diet, and I dont feel deprived at all because you have to eat 5 times a day, and the snack recipes and nutrition bars are really tasty!...
The Zone is based upon the fact that when we eat a lot of sugars and white breads and starchy foods, our bodies create more insulin which makes our hormones go out of whack and make our bodies retain weight.... but if you avoid those foods and eat the perfect balance, your body doesn't get the insulin rush, and instead accesses your stored fat to get energy....
So far, its working and it makes sense to me...

I am glad to hear that your appointment went well, and I know what you mean about the wisdom teeth... I have to get all four out next month!! Im so scared, lol...

Nicklewise: I am sorry to hear you are in a rut. I hate it when I get those depressed days, so I can totally relate. Just try to take a hot bath and relax, that always helps me. Maybe read a favorite book or watch a favorite movie... Feel Better *hugs*
My dinner tonight:
Zone Perfect Turkey Chili Recipe (got out of the book)
Zone Perfect Corn Bread
Dessert:
Banana Pudding!
I hope you all have a good night, ladies!!
