Getting ready to go to Curves! This will be my first workout this year, so I really need it. I had such good intentions, but always something comes up. Gonna have to get a handle on that!

well good morning gang

life got in the way - well actually it was more like TOM - so I did not walk on Wednesday, Thursday or Friday, but I just finished the 4 mile super challenge so I feel much better about that.

Leenie - sorry about Aunt Flo. she sure does get in the way at times. Hope your allergies get better.

Oh the weather is beautiful down here Leenie - sunny and cold this morning - but we could really use some rain. We are suppose to have a warm January which is really odd. Makes me wonder what the summer will be like down here. yikes!

Hey Haley - nice to meet ya! CONGRATS on going to Curves and working out. Did you just join Curves for the new year or have you been going. Tell us how you like it.

Liz - I'm sorry I didn't get to post yesterday but I want you to know that you were in my thoughts and prayers. What ya doing this weekend?

I need to color my hair and do some picking up around here. Brought home some paperwork that I may try to tackle and then I need to finish up my Sunday School Lesson for tomorrow. We lost our youth sunday school buildings in the storm and don't have our own rooms any more, so they set up tables in the gym for all 8 of the high school classes and we each have our classes at our own tables. It's definitely not a perfect set up, but hopefully they will have some rooms ready for us in the next couple of months.

Sooooooooooo where is the rest of our gang and what is everybody up to?

Hope everybody has a BLESSED DAY!

hugs,
Cathy

Morning Haley, Cathy and Leenie and everyone else on the thread. 4 miles - way to go Cathy!!!. That really makes up for W-F. You are my idol. Once my cold is gone, I'm going to start exercising again. I'm hoping for a lazy ride on my exercycle today just to start warming up.

Leenie, I definitely understand the cold getting you down. I'm up to 11 days on mine and it's really bothersome. When I wake up in the morning I have great expectations of feeling normal, then bam, I feel icky again.

Haley, way to go on getting to Curves. I have a friend on another thread that just loves it. If I dind't have to drive 30 minutes to get there, I'd definitely think about joining.

Since I don't feel weel anyways, I decided to start my taxes. That's always a pleasant task. The good news is that we didn't expect to claim either kid on this past years taxes, so we adjuusted our withholdings drastically last June. So since both kids still ended up being dependents, we're getting a big return this year. So that's good. But this year, they'll both be independent and this time next year will be a bummer. But for now, I will enjoy it.

So back to the taxes. Just thought while I was printing the 1098's from the mortgage sites, I'd stop in here and say hello. I hope everyone starts to feel better that has been sick. And to those of you healthy chickies, keep it up!!!

Hey Marie! I meant to ask you how you are feeling today.
11 days of a cold - man oh man - surely you are close to being rid of that thing. let it go girl let it go ;-)
you must be feeling brave to try tackling your taxes - I can't even think that far ahead yet.
what kind of exercycle do you have? do the handle bars move or are they stationery? do you watch tv while you are riding?
Sure hope you feel better
hugs,
cathy

Hi Everyone,

I hope that everyone is enjoying their weekend.

I am still sore from Fridays mega workout. I also had a chicken to roast and challah to make for our special meal that I try to make on Friday (for Shabbat), and today is our rest day so that is *GREAT* 'cause I needed a rest!

I sort of overdid it last night at dinner because I was stressed and trying to feed a need other than hunger..BUT.. trying to stop that line of eating in its tracks. I just have to stay consistant..regardless of my ups and downs.

Leenie and Cathy--sorry about the issues with AF. I haven't had to deal with that in a looooong time and I don't miss it, LOL. Thankfully it is over in a week or so, eh? Cathy-let us know how your hair turns out, eh?

haley-great for getting back on track. It will get easier once that habit is formed again you will crave it.

Mmarie--taxes already? You are my hero.

Well, I am off but I wanted to stop in and say hi. Sometimes it is difficult to post here because the server says it is busy. I wonder if it is a recent influx of New Years resolutions dieters? Eh, time will tell.

Hi everyone
Thank goodness that week is over!
Slept 12 hours last night so feeling perky tonight
Congrats to everyone who is getting the exercise in, good for you. I did have to do 20 push ups today though. I was in town yesterday so I got my dd13 to judo a little late. She had to do 20 push ups, but since it wasn't really her fault Sensei said that the rest of us had to do them as well. So I did 20 girly ones, my mom did 20 "granny" ones, my dd18 and bil did 20 "real" ones. So now we aren't in trouble
We are going out to dinner tonight. My hubby's work is having all the employees. They wanted to do it before Christmas, but everyone was so busy. I think all of the drivers are in town tonight so it should be fun.
Anyway I should toodle.
Take care all,
K

I'm fine and very busy. We just finished a church/ budget meeting and I have to do my notes. Man, I'll be glad when I'm done being secretary. My term will be up this spring. I hatehatehate church politics. Roger will NOT be Chairperson of the Elders again, although people are begging him to. There is a young man who wants the job so bad he can taste it and he can have it. I just hope he won't make too much of a mess.

Gotta go.......b y e

Good Morning everybody!
Dinner went fine last night. It was nice to be able to faces to names that hubby throws out at me.
No new snow after our heavy snow fall on Friday. The sun was trying to shine, but its quite overcast out there now.
I think the tree is coming down today, I have to get this place cleaned up, I'm getting claustraphobic.
Anyway, take care all and have a wonderful day!

Hi Everyone,

Cleaning again today. Is it ever done?? Ah well. I donated a bunch of not so healthy foods today. There are still some left but I started with anything that had high fructose corn syrup or a lot of sugar. Dh seems to be on board with it so I should take advantage of it and do it now! There are a few odds and ends in the freezer like taquitos and egg rolls, hashbrowns, etc. but not much and I will be more careful with what I buy in the future. You would not *believe* how many things contain high fructose corn syrup and much of what I have read has not had anything good to say about what it does to your body and mind. It is in health food too so you really need to read labels if you want to avoid it. I was looking at labels and even some things that I kept had chemicals that I had trouble pronouncing. Baby steps, right? I also ground some wheat in my grain mill so I have plenty of whole wheat flour ready to bake (healthy bread) with. I made whole wheat tortillas for lunch for the kids for wraps..they loved it! It made me feel happy too. It is a great stress reliever for me, (cooking), so if I can do it healthy then that is great.

I weigh in at TOPS tomorrow night. I just know I am down a few pounds so I am excited to see the official number.

Later Ladies,

Snoopy, my fingers are crossed for you on the official weighin. Good for you to be checking labels. It's sort of scary the stuff they put in processed foods.

Tippy, here's to counting down the secretary days. I'm glad someone else wants the job that your husband is vacating. That should make life a little easier.

Leenie, hope DD has fun today. Kids love birthday parties. She should have fun.

Hi Cathy, I have a recumbant stationary exercycle. Unfortunately it's still not been used. I feel good every morning for a couple hours, then I start feeling sick again. So I've been trying to do chores in the am so that my house doesn't look like a tornado hit it. I'm going to take a nap in a little bit, then maybe afterwards I could peddle and watch some football a little later.

Buddly, isn't it good to finally have faces with names? Definitely makes conversations about the person easier. I'm glad that dinner went good.

Liz, glad things are going good. Take care of yourself.

Everyone, have a great day. Talk to you tomorrow.
