Default how to find a doctor

decided to edit this. i wrote it in a moment of utter self pity and overwhelming sadness. and it is just too personal, i think, to be left on an internet message board. not too many responders, anyway, so... no biggie!

off to do some WATP and see if that helps any!

kindly,
s

Susan you must have had a doctor at one time if you were on those medications. Try sticking to one doctor.
Psychiatrists for the most part deal with the meds with very little therapy
Psychologists do therapy, your doc can refer you.
Hope that helps.
Hang in there!

I am wondering if I should go for some help. I struggled my teenage years with feeling unloved and never good enough. Once I had kids the feeling retreated, but I just turned 40 on Friday and with both kids out of the house I am once again getting that depressed feeling. Hubby is not a very emotional person and I feel like I am losing it. I feel like I have lost a piece of myself and and don't know who I am , all I want to do is cry.....I am hoping it's just the holidays and I will get over it soon. Trying desparately not to binge eat or just sleep all day.....

Hey Jules

It is a tough time of year for sure..........it sounds to me like you would benefit from going to see your doc and asking for a referral for counselling.......sometimes for me just having someone to talk to and realizing that I am not alone has helped me in times of crisis..........when the kids leave we grieve......all that was and all we hoped would be. When we have an incident that occurs that makes us feel depressed, sad, lonesome, alone, bored etc it brings back to the surface other times when we have felt this way.......like your childhood for instance.

Hang in there.........I have shed a tear or two myself lately.

Hugs and keep coming back

Thanks Liz. Hubby doesn't understand, keeps telling me to get over whatever it is that is wrong with me....Year end at work is also stressful...I will make an appointment the beginning of January.

Hugs back to you...

I find my hubby does that for two reasons.

One........men are more "logical" thinkers for the most part.....think they have to solve things.

Two.......they worry about us falling apart so they want us to hurry up and get better.

Tell your husband what you need. He can't read your mind.....tell him you just need him to listen, or cuddle with you, or understand this isn't just something to 'get over'.........

Hang in there.
