GM everyone. I don't have much planned for this weekend. I will be supervising oldest DD while she pulls some weeds from our fenceline (which has massive weeds, some that are up to my knees). She is on punishment this weekend for some trouble she got into at school, so it's hard work for her this weekend. Hey guess what!? There is this big yellow thing in the sky, and it's making it all bright outside. I think they call it a sun. YEAH!! The rain is finally cleared up! Well I will BBL, I have to get some stuff done around here. I just wanted to check in and see how everyone is doing. "Talk" to ya'll later.
Good morning Leenie and Timmy and everyone else. I plan on knitting and drawing this weekend. That and take two walks, one each day, with the dogs. I'm really on a walking kick. Except for Wednesday (which is my beginning drawing class), I've walked everyday. Past the crafty and walking stuff, I'm free as a bird this weekend. There's always some cleaning to be done, but I really don't want to do that. At the moment, I'd really like to go back to bed. My boy doggie thought we should get up at the normal time and I'm still a little sleepy. I think it's time to make some expresso.
where you running to leenie? ;-) how is little gracie? hey? did you ever make a decision on the other job that came up? don't think I remember
Hey Timmy - I must be "on punishment" too. I've been working way too hard for way too long. ;-)
Hey Marie - congrats on all the walking. I thought about a walk tape this morning but that was as far as I got. There's just too much too do around here right now. We had to jump up early and unload my hubby's parents deep freezer that came over here after the storm. We kept them running with generators. They finally got electricity back so they were moving the deep freezers back - what a lot of work - but hey - the all their stuff was saved.
I've got lots to do around here so I better get to it. Need to cook something good for supper too.
For now we are only having church services on sunday mornings at 10. Everything else is cancelled "until further notice". Most of our sunday school buildings have been damaged and now have mold. Our youth house has been boarded up. Don't know what they will do about all of that. It's gonna be hard to find a place to have sunday school for almost 1000 people, but maybe they will get some of the buildings repaired shortly - who knows.
Good morning, everybody! I agree with the huge ball of yellow in the sky - finally! I mean, I love rain and dancing in it, but in moderation. I am not doing anything interesting this weekend . I wanted to see The Fog (Maggie Grace!!!! From Lost!!!) with my friend Vanessa (Tom Welling fanatic - eh, he's in it too), but we're having another dinner party. Arg. I have nobody to talk to during those.
Then, I have four tests to study for, and a lab due - all on Monday. Just because they weren't allowed to give us homework on Yom Kippur...
And tomorrow I can't go to the movies either, because my brother gets to go to his friend's birthday party! AH!
And I want to see two movies, The Fog AND Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (a month and three days!). But my mom says I have to choose. I've been waiting for both for six months.
Okay, this turned more of a rant. On topic...I plan to actually do my ball workout cause I have time and will do the treadmill. Okay, see you!
Slirp slirp slirp.. Mmmmm. coffee good.
I need to get a new weed eater today and look into some alarm systems for the house. Will be going for my walk for the evening. Anybody wanna join?
Hello Leenie, Hey Timmy, Hi Marie, Hiya Cathy, Heya Claire, Hi Cool Chic and Hello Everyone Else.
This weekend uggg.... Friday Night/Saturday VERY busy... Sunday cleaning my house some... and nothing else.
Last Night and Today we Cooked, Cooked Again and then Cooked Some More... Today was my son and his girlfriends joint birthday party.. We had invited about 80 people and about 15-20 showed up. So we make alot of food...Everything was good...and ready on time.. But the best party was the decorations and games... They wanted the theme as Halloween.. SO I had Frankenstein's Lab... Food and Odd things.. as Veins, Brains, Eyes, Liver, Finger, blood, and so on.. the kids went into a almost darkened Garage.. I had them feel each thing and told them what it was and once done they had to walk around a corner and my friend had a mask on and would jump out and scary them... It was so fun and funny to watch their reactions. We has bobbing for apples which was so funny... but everyone got an apple out.. and a prize and then we happy mummy wraps.. wrapping up with toilet paper and then running and ripping out of it and then doing their partners.. It was fun and the kids had alot of fun.. They WORST part was (although it was very funny) S. and BIL decided to take the huge bucked of water the apples were in and dump the whole thing all over me. IT was COLD but at least it was 70 today and sunny.. Lots of Fun and happy children was all that mattered... and way to much food.. I'll half leftovers for a week or more. The fun is over.. and my kitchen is half cleaned.. The rest I will finish tomorrow..
Leenie ~ Having a busy Saturday? You should sit and relax... you are always running somewhere..
Timmy ~ I do the same with my DS. When he gets in trouble he's always cleaning something, but now I have the ultimate weapon which has been working. He received a game cube for his birthday.. and he can only play it if I get a good report from school and that's all I've been getting.. NOW if I can get him to do everything he's surpose to without complaint at home..
Marie ~ I hope you enjoy your knitting and drawing this weekend.. WTG on your walking.. I wish I could get back into mine.. I used to walk 1or 2 times a day and I stopped. Enjoy your drawing class
Cathy ~ Hugs.
Claire~ Good Luck on your tests and getting your Lab done.
Cool Chic ~ Coffee is always good.. How was your walk.. I would love to join but... I think I had a workout running around today getting ready for the birthday party.. Nothing was done.. It was a my friends house since her daughter was having the party to.. and I had been on her all week. I went over then and cleaned and moved things and got decorations up and motivated her butt while running back and forth to my house.. and everything else.
Well I have to run medicine is kicking in and I want to sleep..
Hope everyone has a good night and a wonderful Sunday
Hi everyone
Hope you are all having a great and restful weekend. With my girls home from school right now I don't get much of a chance to get on the computer.
Marie: our teachers are on strike because the government imposed a settlement and they want to negotiate one. Plus they want more money and smaller class sizes. Congrats on the walking. I've missed going for my walks. Thats great that you are drawing.
Cathy: glad you are back home and that your inlaws didn't lose all their stuff in their freezer. I'm sure you'll get everything at church sorted out soon.
timmy: what is this yellow ball in the sky you speak of??? We've been having so much rain I think we will need webbed feet soon. Actually I shouldn't complain as the town just north of us had snow this morning.
Ashlie: that sounds like a great birthday party. I'm trying to come up with a cake idea for my daughter who turns 18 on the 18th.
Claire: good luck on your tests and labs. I can't wait until The goblet of fire gets out, I was disappointed in the last one though.
Hi Leenie, Cool chic, April, Sue, Casper, Liz, Tippy, Cin and everyone else!
Not much going here and its to wet to want to do much of anything. Dh was home for today so we made stirfry and sweet and sour pork for dinner. So now I have a huge mess in the kitchen! But boy it was good and filling
Dd17 is out with a group of friends. They decided to get together and go out for a fancy dinner so that the girls could wear their prom dresses again. My girl is wearing just a comfy warm dress, she didn't want to freeze. They managed to get ten of their group together and I'm sure they are having a blast.
Anyway I should go, take care all,
K
Hi everyone........off to a work related brunch this morning........only work Wed, Thurs this week so it should be a quiet week........famous last workds......maybe I'll get caught up with all the posts and get to know some of the people.......it is great to see so many new faces!
Boy is it windy out today, but at least its sunny. I have a whole bunch of pants to hem for DD and DH (I never have that problem LOL). I'm making a meat loaf for the week and not sure what else. I have to go grocery shopping today and thats about it.
Cathy, the job is still under review from the big shots at work, but I doubt I'll go. You see its a new position for my old boss so they need to create a new position for me. But in all honesty, unless my present boss does something horrible between now and then, I most likely will stay where I am Thanks for asking. I hope your churches and buildings dry out soon, thats horrible. HUGS.... Gee I feel like I haven't talked to you in a long time. The days just fly by.
HUGS to everyone Have a great day!!
Joanne, I hope your feeling okay, I've been thinking about you HUGS !!!
Liz how's the new job?
Marie, good for you for walking so much. Its great and I hope to be back into walking soon. Have fun at drawing class. When I got out of HS thats what I wanted to do, but I couldn't afford college. Maybe one day I'll go back
Buddly, that stirfry sounds great !! I love to cook but I hate the mess and thats what keeps me from really whooping up a storm in the kitchen LOL.
Stephaine that party sounded like a blast. I was thinking maybe next year when DD is older I might have another halloweenie party LOL. You'll have great memories and can laugh when you think about them dumping water on you LOL.
CoolChick, don'tcha just love coffee mmmmmmm today I'm drinking Graham Cracker flavor... MY GOSH is it good.
Claire good luck w/the studying. What are you studying for ? I'd like to see the Harry Potter movie too, let us know how it is.
Timmy, good for you for making your DD work her punishment off. More parents should do that. You sound like a good Mom
Morning everyone, it's sunny and cold here. Yesterday had some drizzle and I ended up sleeping a chunk of the day away. It was heaven. Today we're going hiking with the doggies.
Leenie, I never had to hem anyone's pants. That would be a pain. I guess Iw as lucky we all were standard sizes. I heard that the northeast was going to get a lot of wind today. We had it on Friday - 40 mph wind. It sort of strange to drive in.
Cathy, I'm glad that things are getting a little back to normal. The freezer situdation is a lot of work, but at least something was saved. That's nice to hear. About your church, I'm really sorry about that. I would think that it would be impossible to get it back to the way it was before.
Liz, enjoy the new work schedule. I bet you're happy that orientation is over. Two days this week sounds very delightful.
Buddly, I don't blame the teachers for wanting smaller class sizes. When I go into classrooms and the kids are coming out of the woodwork, I wonder how they can really learn in such a chaotic environment. I hope they settle soon, though. Enjoy the stir fy.
Stephanie, the party sounds like a lot of fun. And a lot of work. It does sound like you'll have to get BIL back, though.
Claire, good luck on all the tests and lab. DS's GF has midterms and lots of homeowrk right now too. She's totally stressed about it.
Cool, have fun on the walk. Wish I could join you but DH is going to join me.
That's about it, I'll chat with all of you later.
Marie
MMarie – not giving up graphics, just working towards teaching it at the college/university level… however in order to teach in a university I have to have my masters and ph.d so I’m going to teach math while I work at night to attain those two degrees… man… more school ICKY!
My midterm on Thursday went well… 50 questions and took my only 20-25 mintues to finish up. It wasn’t as hard as I was expecting it to be. Not sure if that’s good or bad you know what sucks tho… when I start thinking back on the questions, I start to worry that maybe I answered it wrong. Like for example the true false questions… I always obsess over whether or not there was some little portion to the question that was a trick and made it false rather than true. Ah well… we’ll find out sometimes this week.
I’ve been hibernating from the world. I’ve got a calculus midterm on Monday. EEW! So I’ve been studying like crazy! Trying to remember theorems, concepts, formulas and derivatives… oh and inverse derivatives and functions and so forth… icky!
Ah, one more thing before I go. I’ve been switched from Ovcon to Orthotrycycline. Which is a birth control pill. They have me on this to regulate my cycles (blah). However, the point is, I just started this new brand last week. Now… I dunno if it’s the stress that’s getting to me or if the medication itself is causing this… but I’ve had hunger cravings up the wazoo! Holy cow! I want to eat 24/7. I’d like to say it’s the stress, because it’s an all to familiar situation for me, but I also know that b/c can cause you to gain weight. So one or the other… I’ve been having major cravings so I dunno how well I’m gonna do this week for my weigh in.
