Goooooooooooooooooood Morning Gals,
Whew! I am glad my "work-week" is completed............at least the one I get paid for.

I led 6 meetings in 2 days.....discussing the differences between "food cravings" & "food urges".............at first I didnt care for the topic but gave it my best shot.It ended up being a very good topic and brought on much discussion in the meetings!

WW topics are the same Nationwide...if they are not franchise owned.....so it is nice to know every member is on the same "page" so to speak!

Anywayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy I am dressed and ready to head out the door to walk...........planning a yard sale Saturday mostly for my single daughter..she cannot have them at her apartment complex...so we are having one. We get a lot of traffic in front of our house...........usually pretty good sale with no advertising!

Later taters

Morning Cin Morning Leens
I was sick as a dog yesterday (I should have taken Monday off) we still haven't heard about the house and I'm living on HB eggs cottage cheese and Jello/sfff pudding
I tried a regular meal last night
not too successful and while I could eat the WW Pasta I made it stirred cravings so no more of that!
Cin what is the difference between an urge and a crave? I'm curious
I'll try to catch up from yesterday later!
busy busy!

This will be a brief explanation:
Cravings are USUALLY from a favorite food you have abstained from...like something you KEEP thinking about. It is easier managed if you HAVE what it is you want by either making a lighter version of it or having the real thing (such as Baskin Robbins ice cream) having it because you have planned for it and use portion control having it. In fact it is a good idea to have it and so you will quit thinking about it so much.

Urges are more something enviromental or external that triggers unplanned eating.like smells of popcorn at the movies.bakeries you pass. Looking at doughnuts in the break room. Carmel apples and pumpkin pie/seasonal foods in front of us....ect

Learning to RECOGNIZE what is triggering you.........is really important..asking yourself "DO I really want this? What are the consequences....blah blah blah...

I closed my meetings by asking them how many remember what Firefighters teach you to do if you catch on fire? Of course they all said STOP-DROP-&ROLL!!!!! I told them if all else fails Stop....Drop & Roll away from it If nothing else laugh and remeber......recognizing the cue gives us a clue!

hahahaha that's cute Cin - Stop....Drop & Roll away from it!

hope everyone is having a good day!

Leenie - have fun with the haircut. I got one yesterday morning. It always feels good to get some of my frizzy ends off.

SueMarie - your day that you posted sounded absolutely WILD! glad you survived.

Kierie - I sure hope you are feeling better today - take it easy!

Liz - how do you like the day job?

**Oprah Show Today** - I debated whether or not to to post this - but what the heck! Just want to mention this in case anyone would like to watch Oprah today. Oprah is doing a show on Body Dysmorphic Disorder (BDD) which my oldest son was diagnosed with at age 16.

It doesn't come on until this afternoon but you can already read about today's show at her website. There are 11 pictures and pieces of the show there.

One thing I will mention to you from reading the 11 little pieces. The feelings that the first girl and guy mention - my son deals will all of those feelings. BUT he now only has moments, whereas he use to deal with them every waking moment (before being on 4 grains of Armour Thyroid). Also he has never gotten stuck in the mirror or bathroom for hours. He use to completely avoid mirrors, with BDD it's one extreme or the other - stuck in mirrors or freak out when you have to deal with a mirror or your reflection. If he had not gotten good Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and meds (especially his thyroid meds) he could have easily gotten stuck in the rituals that they might mention (not leaving the house, camoflauging, covering & closing mirrors - stuff like that) but with therapy he has learned to work thru all of that - much like someone with OCD would learn to quit their compulsions when they are obessing.

I guess I'm just trying to explain that there are varying degrees to BDD and that some are worse than others.

anyway - that is way more than you probably wanted to know ;-) I mainly just wanted to let you know that it would be on Oprah today if you want to catch it. It is a very difficult disorder and not a lot of awareness out there about it, so I am very glad to see shows that get some info out about it.

Hope everybody has a blessed day!

hugs,
Cathy

If I am home at 4 I will sure watch it! The more informed the better.it could always be info that could help someone dealing with it. Oprah is great about educating the public!

I am hot.went to the attic to drag out yard sale stuff....HOT UP there ................heading for the shower!

Hi girls. I have come back after a long time away knowing that here is where i'd get the continued support and encouragement I realy need. Won't go through the details again I posted them in a thread called new beginnings. I really need the help though. I'm kinda stuck and need to get myself going again.
Started using my crunch machine again last night but my poor bum is sore from a horseback riding accident and I can't sit in the seat properly. I really want this belly of mine gone. I look like such a sack of potatoes and I don't feel that way. Such a shock to see what I look like in pictures considering that I don't feel like that at all. So please heeeeellllpppp!
Thanks

Mmarie – yeah I’ve mentioned to her a few times about not wanting to get involved… mom doesn’t listen so I just try to go about things and sorta walk around her. Drives me nuts sometimes!!

Cin – hmmm cravings vs. urges… I kinda figured they were one in the same…but I see others were just as curious as I was and beat me to the question Thanks for that explanation… Stop drop and roll away from it… I might get a weird look from the starbucks employees… and James might think I’ll need a shrink… but I will look into those clues and see what makes my cravings vs. urges tick! Thanks!

Cathy – yes, no more days like that!! Between Vegas, the Bday at Raging Waters and now Laughlin, it’s time to go “Cheap Charlie” and start saving up to work on our next backyard project. James wants a Jacuzzi now

Getting below 350lbs has become a major hurdle for me. I’ve been maintaining my weight at around 357-352lbs I can’t seem to get below 350lbs. I’m obviously really not focusing very well on my weight. Don’t get me wrong, I’m glad I’m maintaining, which means if I ever do get past 350lbs, I shouldn’t have any problem staying below…however, I just need to get past that huge barrier.

I am so disorganized … I could have sworn I promised to organize myself a few months ago… Obviously I’m not doing such a good job at it At least I know which way is up *point in every direction*

Take care everyone!
Sue…
