I'm here!

MMarie - we are in Lake Charles, which is close to the Texas line. We are about 200 miles west of New Orleans. Right now it is REALLY WNDY here but it actually feels good! They are saying we will get some showers around noon but we shall see.

The hurricane came in at Grand Isle at 6:10 this morning, so hopefully that will help New Orleans out a little. They are saying on the local news that the water is now over one of the levies in New Orleans so that is not good. The Superdome, that has about 10,000 people in it, no longer has electricity and has some damage to the roof. It looks like Biloxi, MS is getting hit really bad since they are on the east side of the storm. We are praying for everyone in the path of the storm! That thing is huge!

Hotels and shelters are all full in Louisiana and in Southeast, Texas. They are sending people on up to Dallas. It's crazy round here folks and everybody is glued to the news.

How's everybody doing today?

hugs,
Cathy

Hi ladies…

I’m back from Vegas… I am going back and replying to all the posts that I can get to. I didn’t have internet connection in the room only in the downstairs atrium. I didn’t wanna go air my laundry out in the middle of a casino LOL.

Marble – I’ve stepped back and have decided they can fight their own fight. I used to jump in because I didn’t want them to break up… who wants their parents to split up?? Well… I think this time, maybe they are both better off apart. Financially for my dad, and for my mom, well, maybe she will learn what my dad is going through if she gets her own apartment and keeps on gambling and seeing her bills add up. They say sometimes you gotta learn the hard way. Maybe she will?

CIN – actually in a way, I did take off and not leave a number I told my parents I was leaving for vegas for the bowling league last week… I just didn’t remind them that I was leaving last Friday. So I come home and I had a few messages on my cell and on my house line

Cathy – How are things going for you in Louisiana? I heard they turned the 10 fwy into a one way freeway. Are things okie for you?

I am sending all my prayers and warm wishes to all the folks who are in the path of Katrina!

Vegas was great. It was long needed vacation! A great get away from my parents too :-P

I won a lot of money tho. I came in second in the women’s division based on my score. They I won a few other competitions as well. I placed anywhere between 1st and 12th in the womens singles, womens doubles, mixed doubles and team competition. All in all I got about 300 bucks from bowling. Then I hit a royal flush on Pai Gow, but I only bet $1 and so the pay was $150. Can you imagine if I had bid the higher amount???? *faints* It was my first time playing Pai Gow only because I had made some money on bowling so I decided I would try a few hands. I only put in $40 bucks, sat for an hour, and came out with $220 heehe. I also won about hmmm… 2-300 on the penny slots and a a few more on the nickel slots. I don’t gamble to much. I usually only play the penny slots because you can usually put in $10 or $20 and sit all day. James and I went into Vegas with $400 bucks that we saved up over the season and came out with about $250 left. That’s after all the food, all the gifts, and all the shows we went to.

It was a good getaway. I had the company of good friends, good food and my bowling ball Oh and about bowling, the reason I placed so well was because I bowled a really SUPER game! I bowled a 200, 204 and 179 I also had a handicap of about 56 pins. So add all that up and add on 56 x 3 to my score and it gave me a good enough score to place!

I’m going to Laughlin Sept 16th. This one is just for us tho, no league competitions, just us and two friends. We’re going down for Party Gras. This is something we had planned for a few months. Just something for us to get away from the normal life here at home. We usually go to Pismo beach but this year I took summer school and the kid was switched to a different track (year round school) so it made things hard for us to plan anything. Here’s my schedule for the new few weeks.

We’re having an after league team party this Friday (2nd) so another BBQ ICK!
This Saturday (3rd) we are going to the Angels game. Taking Brit for her Birthday (4th) She’s gonna be 13!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Next Saturday(10th) I have my 3rd and Final exam (if I can pass the history section) Then I have a friends bday to go to later that night.
Then the following Friday (16th) we are going to Laughlin for the weekend.

Then I start school

I start work tomorrow. YAY nothing like going to Vegas, staying up all night and then trying to get back into a regular work schedule

Alrighty Folks, I’m outta here!

Oh and umm... Lets not even talk about my weigh in. I usually weigh in on Sundays, but since I was in Vegas I didn'pt weigh in, and I think i won't weigh in until next Sunday. I know for sure I did more than my share of eating. So I gotta spend some extra time working out this week to loose what I gained while in vegas.

SueMarie: Glad you had a good time, you are on a lucky roll girlie....but a lottery tix.

I am stressing big-time...too much going on and I picked up POISON IVY on my inner elbow, I'm at working trying to keep from ripping the skin off my arm.....I had a very bad day yesterday, due to the fact that I did a really dumb thing, on Saturday night I took a double dose of med....luckily the only effect was being completely out of it yesterday. (ive done this before and woken up on the floor of the bathroom with the dog licking my face) I forced extra caffiene into myself and made myself exercise, but truly felt like poop..... I told my neighbor what I did and this morning she was calling me at 630AM because she knew I had to be out the door for early work....

I have to stop being such an air-head and remember what I'm doing....

Good morning everyone

I am in Vancouver now.....well in a suburb of Vancouver....visiting DS1 & DIL & baby Claire.....she is a sweetie....last Friday she weighed 5 lbs. 10 oz. Her 2nd toe is longer than the big toe....just like me & DS1.....that runs in families apparently.

I have been holding her & have fed her 3 or 4 times with the bottle....Claire's mom is breast feeding her....but because Claire is a premie....her mom is pumping....breast feeding her & bottle feeding her.

I am feeling good....have increased the Celexa from 20 to 30 mg. last week.

It is raining today....it rains a lot in Vancouver.

Sue.....I am not thinking about dieting while I am away....when I used to go away in the past....I always used to follow my WW....it was always frustrating....trying to diet while away from home.

Cin....I am just trying to eat healthy while away & to eat when hungry....will get back to WW when I get home.

April

Cin I WISH my hair were straight or rosana danna like....I look like Don King today (with poison ivy raging down my arm, it seems to be spreading or I'm breaking out in HIVES). all this after blowing and spraying and the flat iron.....

KO and SueMarie...I had a little binge-fest myself this weekend, both bread and some pasta and a piece of oven-fried chicken, someone should SLAP ME! we won't mention the Absolute Citron and grapefruit.....

KO, good luck on the house....(do you have the Jewish Book of Why?) it's exciting to house-hunt...wait until you get your first mtg. payment....

I thought I was insane this morning, as I'm racing around for work, my TOOTHBRUSH is missing, (I thought---wow I was really out of it), not my fault. In his never-ending battle to torment the dog, Wylie-Coyote took it off the bathroom shelf and brought it to the poor dog's water dish...YUCK. so I had to hunt up batteries for the spin brush.

In the past, the cat has strewn a box of Q-tips through the house, stolen my expensive make up brushes to dunk in the water dish and removed unmentionable TOM items from the bathroom garbage to the hall.....OH YUCK!

I want to go home.....

Sorry I am running a bit late today..my oldest DD had me runing around first thing this morning and it got me all irratated and anxious..some days you meds just dont help. I have done well on my eating today but havent got in any exercise today . I have been trying to get some work caught up that I have neglected the past week. And if I dont get with it my paycheque wont be very good
There are some advantages to working from home. Except everyone thinks that means I never have anything to do.
Sorry it sounds like I am griping I am not ...but its just one of those days.

KO, CATS are supposed to be FINICKY, not digging in the trash!...I was MORTIFIED as I came home from work, the contractor was in the house and the TOM *stuff* was visable on the rug....

sherry, sometimes you just have to stuff the kids in the closet (or send them to a friend's house) to get to your own agenda. My DD has a unique talent for sending me over the edge of a cliff before 7AM, I do not miss the AM dance we used to do before school!

I would never be able to work from home, I can fritter away a day too easily....I work better under the *pressure* of racing the clock!
