Don't despair! Something will work out. And if you have no money for food, you'll lose LOTS of weight. LOL (Just trying to help you find the silver lining.) And if you're out of birth control, I hoping you weren't speaking literally about being screwed...
Seriously though, I do realize losing a job is a real downer, and pretty scary. As my therapist used to say, though, don't get caught up in "catastrophic thinking". In other words, try to relax and look at the whole situation without the emotional reactions. (Don't mind me. I'm on my

I don't know if you're eligible for EI, but if so, that will kick in. If not, there is always welfare while you look for another job. I'm sure Vancouver has food banks, although their food is not necessarily the most nutritious. And Van must have free birth control clinics, even if you have to resort to condoms for a while. As for you rent, maybe your family could help out? You might have to take a lower-paying or less enjoyable job for a while.
To fend off the depression, especially if you find yourself out of a job, use some of the time to exercise. Walk, hike, run if you can, bike if you have one.
So try to cheer up and look for the positive. Worrying and stressing

about what might happen won't stop it from happening, so try to calm down for now. But do look for a new job, and keep smiling.
