Good Morning,

Boy it stinks having a day off and you can't sleep so here I sit w/my graham cracker flavored coffee in the dark

Today will just be finishing the laundry and getting my rump on the dreadmill.

Joanne, I had a walking cast once. It was in my ut um, youth lol, I was supposed to wear it for 8 weeks but at that time I did not drive, I was 16 and well you really can't keep a 16 year old down, I wore a hole right thru that thing, yes even with the shoe on, walking around town w/my friends. I remember the doctor just shakin his head LOL. I had broken my foot right smack across the top from one side to the other, just by stepping into a ditch and my foot twisting. When I heard it snap I thought I had stepped on a stick, but by the time I got in the door of my house I knew it wasn't a stick, I couldn't even get my sneaker off b/c the swelling was that bad LOLOL !!! it wasn't painful until the next few days when I tried to walk. For about 2 weeks it was hard to put pressure on it.

Chris I've had arthritis since I was 12. They said it was growing pains at first LOL. oy.
When I was 26 I went to the doctor b/c my knees were so bad, and I was not over weight at that time. He confirmed I had the knees of a 40 year old at that time and said NOOOO aerobics, jogging, etc. He gave me naprosyn (Aleve). and I never went back. Then I had hip problems and went for a scan, that diagnosed deterorating disc disease DDD, I had that test when I was 34. So some days, especially damp ones, or when the pressure in the air is changing, I really hurt. Sorry to hear you have Rheum...thats much more worse

SueMarie, glad to see your doing good with your plan, baby steps for babycakes Who else know's what its like to try and try and try to stay op then the folks here. In my eyes, nobody is a failure as long as you keep trying.

Lynnie I'm glad BIL is doing well. Do they ever expect him to go out on his own?

Well time to do some more surfing and reading up.

TTYL

HAPPY SONDAY !!!

Cool

Morning Ladies!!
How is everyone doing today?? I am fine. Night before last my dd tried to sneak the 18 yr. old to her bedroom window to give him a poem and get a kiss from him.. Yeah right!! I was sooo mad at her!! But at least we caught her.
And the meeting we had to go to the other day, they decided to let her go to school for half a day for a month. Then go back to school for full days. Hope she actually sticks to that! If she doesn't, then she will have to go in front of a judge. And probably to a girls home. I can't take her bologna anymore..
Last night she begged until 1am. to see that boy again! Of course the answer is still no!!!
Well, I work this today, then am off tomorrow and Tuesday!!
I am about to drink my 2nd cup of coffee. Wake me up some more!!
Sorry to hear about all you guys that don't feel well this morning. Physically and mentally..
And for you all that feel well. That is wonderful!!!
You all have a blessed day!!!! Hugs, Lanee....

Good morning, everyone. I am new to this site but just wanted to say that I have enjoyed so much reading everyone's posts. I stay at home with three small children and you just wouldn't believe how wonderful it was to come across a forum where there was actual adult conversations going on. This is the first site I've ever found where I felt comfortable just jumping right in. I suppose it helps that there is the common bond of weight loss between all of the users.
Lanee, I obviously don't know anything about your daugter's situation but just reading about her sneaking a boy through the window made my heart sink. My little girl is only four and already the idea of her dating much less KISSING just kills me. She has a twin brother and another who is two years older than them. Hopefully, they will be protective of her and have a certain amount of influence over the boys who try to date her. Maybe that is just wishful thinking on my part, but a mother can dream, can't she? At any rate, I hope everything works out for your family. I gave my mother fits as a teenager and I turned out to be a pretty upright gal. Her joke about my sister and I is that we weren't any better behaved than any of the kids our age...we were just lucky enough to have never gotten caught. Of course, our claim is that we were SMART enough not to get caught, luck had nothing to do with it!

Lynnie,
My aunt had a brain aneurysm, and she had a massive stroke. She was in the hospital for the longest time then in a nursing home for a year. She has been home for a couple years now but is wheelchair bound for the rest of her life and can't talk either.

Leenie-When it gets cold my arthritis feels a little worse but mostly rheumatoid arthritis is that stupid old auto-immune disease. I have really bad allergies too that get worse when we have damp weather or the barometric pressure changes. Haven't figured that out yet but I know I get really dizzy. I'm highly allergic to molds...Those make me really dizzy where I can't walk and the floor feels slanted and I have to hold onto walls to get anywhere. My gosh though, to have arthritis then break your foot. Talk about a double whammy. Glad to see you have a walking cast now.

Lanee-Sorry you're having problems with your daughter. I can't relate to the mother's side yet, but I know I was one of those kids when I was in high school. I hung out with the druggie types, smoked, snuck around, got suspended a couple times. I had to sign a contract with the principle, the school psychologist and the school superintendant to get back in. I am soo sorry I caused that many problems for my parents. I was horrible. I am trying my hardest to raise my daughters to not do those things, but I'm sure I'll have some troubles along the way. I'm coming up on those years. My oldest will be 12 this year. So I"m not that far off.

Hey Jaws.... Welcome! Sounds like you have your hands full. I got 3 but no twins here. Tiana is 11. Kayla 5 1/2. Nicole 2. They are a handful. I love this site. I'm on a couple different threads. One for stay at home moms, one from rheumatoid and osteoarthritis sufferers, and here. It is nice to have "real" adults to talk to. My husband isn't around much. He works 2 jobs and sometimes I just don't think he understands. So it's nice to have others to talk to .

Lanee, its so hard to tell a young teen that an 18 year old is NOT right for them, they just don't understand, my heart goes out to you. My DD is only 3 and by golly, there is no way I'd let an 18 year old man into my house either (when she's 14 that is). Stay strong Lanee, kids need parents, they do not need friends. She will thank you later on (believe it or not). Hugs

Jawsmom !! WELCOME, I'm so happy to hear that you are already comfortable here, what a nice complement, don't you all think so. We are, well I think we are, a wonderful loving supportive bunch of ladies. I'm glad your here

Well I made the kids (dh and dd and doggy) waffles this morning, cleaned up, made a roasted chicken, a ton of tuna salad for the week and my dear friend LindaT's pumpkin chili recipe.... mmmmmmm mmmmmmm can't wait to eat it tomorrow (the flavors mingle) I did sneak a small bowl of it when it was done YUMMMY.

In 1/2 hr I will take DD bowling and then its home for a bath and then dinner. Gotta finish laundry too........gee that stuff never ends lol.

So I will chat w/you all later.

Have a good afternoon

Smile Hi everyone!

Not much happening today. DH is at work right now, but we'll be going to church tonite. I plan on WALKING in, by the grace of God

Chris: I almost cried when I read your post . I don't have arthritis, but I do have DDD and neuropathy, which means chronic pain. My pain is pretty well controlled, but I do have bad days. Thank God for medicine and doctors who are trained in pain management. My physiatrist (rehab/pain management dr.) is not only very good-but he's easy on the eyes too

Leenie: Pumpkin chili? Sounds interesting!

Lynnie: Glad to hear you're still feeling good Enjoy!

Lanee: I'll be sending you a pm

JawsMom: Welcome to our thread and to 3 FC! This is a great place to come and share . Glad you're here!

SueMarie: Sounds like you're pretty busy out there! Keep up the good work with your program

Joanne,
Just out of curiousity...what meds do they have you on for DDD and the neuropathy? My SIL has neuropathy. She's diabetic and is in end-stage renal failure. She fell and broke her leg 12 yrs. ago...and has the neuropathy thing going but also has charcot. Whatever that is! She's in a ton of pain all the time. She had a swollen foot the other day and she finally went into the doc. IT was broke in 80 different spots. Her feet are basically turning to muss. He told her there was nothing they could do for her this time. She walks with a brace on one leg. She is one courageous gal!

Hey Ladies, I tried to start Monday's chat...

Seem to be having problems with my posts not showing up... Did I goof in my posting? Here's a copy of what I tried to post....
____________

Hello Ladies, I figured since I was up I would start the weeks thread off.

Everything is going well, I just wish the rain would stop. It's been nonstop and HEAVY! I think I saw the nieghbors cat floating down the street! It's horrible out... so much water, the resivior that is across the street from the housing area, well the water comes up half way to the drain pipe, and that pipe is a good 5-8 feet from bottom of the resivior. They have all the roads closed around us, and closed off the freeway because the areas where the floods hit after the fires came, where it washed out a campground, well it flooded again and over powered the large drain pipes that go under the freeway. This time it went up and over the freeway. So they were diverting traffic off the freeway and down through our side streets, so it was havoc...eesh!

Well, I'll catch up with you all later... OOH I had one thing to say... anyone here know of Curves or have joined Curves? I'm curious as to how much their prices are. They are openning up one out by me and I'm just kinda...thinking about it... hehehe

Also.. Kierie, I mentioned about your Denise Austen quote in your signature... I had her confused with my Kathy Smith video...however I do have Denise Austen's Beginning Yoga... I was at walmart when I was looking at the videos and I saw Denise Austen, and you immediately popped into my head and I was like ooooh! I mixed up my videos... hehe sorry

Okie it's getting late <G> I'll catch you all later in the day!

Ni Ni!
