Depression and Weight IssuesHave you been diagnosed with depression, are possibly on depression medication, and find it affects your weight loss efforts? Post here for support!
The last week of 2004, hope it was a good year for everyone.
Does anyone have any new years resolutions? Other than the obvious (wl) ?
Mine is to start reading the bible more and to get closer to Jesus.
To go to work with a better attitude, I have a wonderful job and should be greatful.
How about your new years eve plans ?? anyone going out?
Me and the family are staying home. Usually our neighbors come over but my neighbors sister moved to town last year and now they get invited over there, so who knows..either way it will be a good evening. I don't cook anything fancy, we usually have hordorervs (sp?) anything I can find in the frozen section of the supermarket LOLOL !!!
Good Morning
I missed reading all the weekend and Christmas posts..........I have'nt time to go back either!
Last week one of the computers died in my husbands office so they borrowed mine! I had withdrawal symptoms! I never realized how many times a day I checked my e mail and 3 f c posts until it was gone!
I am leading 8 WW meetings Mon Tues & Weds so thought I would check in because chances are I will not be able too for a couple days!
As far as resolutions as always.I want to work at having loving& forgiving relationships with everyone................... )
Draw closer to my relationship with Jesus Christ.
Love and appreciate the smallest of things and all people!
Eat healthy and exercise...,,mostly doing everything in moderation!
I think that is enough!
Our church hold a big New Years Eve celebration we always look forward to.......it only last until about 9:30....we all dress up and have refreshments ,fun & fellowship...this year we are holding it in a huge rented space (convention center) downtown..should be lots of fun! Expecting hundreds.then afterwards going to some friends house! (if we stay up late ha ha)
Well I have "written a book",,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
Be blessed and pray for all the people in S Asia.what a tragedy!
Twas a quiet Christmas. We didn't do much except do stuff around the house. Yesterday we went shopping after church and WOW was Wal-Mart busy. Absolutely nuts!
Later today my DD and her family are stopping. As some of you know, we've been estranged for the past three months. She phoned, asking to stop and drop off some gifts. I replied that we'd not be comfortable accepting gifts and we had not bought any. I didn't think we'd see them, to be honest. There was no talk about WHY I turned my back on her...I don't think she wants to discuss it. All I want from her is respect and no rudeness and if she can't handle that, I don't want her around me. I know what's going on over there, although I don't know---if you get my drift. I think that DD needs medication for whatever is going on in her head!
Am still scouring the craft stores, looking for a crocheted angel pattern made with thread and starched to standup! Oy vey. I know there is such a thing....made some years ago.
Hi! I'm new here, have been lurking for awhile, and was so motivated by how caring the posters are here that I decided to register and embark seriously on my weightloss journey. I also went back on Zoloft last week to combat my depression. My New Years resolutions are 1) do some form of exercise everyday (even if it's just a walk around the block), 2) no sweets, except for holidays, and 3) resume journaling (I fell out of the habit about 4 years ago).
Hi Ladies,
Hi Darlene!! Welcome to 3fat chicks!!!
Hey ladies. Yesterday WalMart was even MORE busy than the Christmas rush was!!!! Man, I couldn't believe it!!! You know the expression, shop until you drop, I think that is what the people did yesterday!!!
Well I am off today. I need it!!
My dh just fixed me a cup of coffee and brought it to me. How sweet of him!
I need to clean the house today. But dd is gonna do her share of it.
This year has been ok. I guess. Could have been better I guess. But can't/
shouldn't complain either..
I am not sure about my New Year's resolutions yet. There is plenty of things
I could work on.
Well, gonna relax and drink my coffee for a little while.
Hugs, Lanee...
I hit the floor running this morning and got to Circuit City at 8:00 to get in line for them to install my new cd player in my car. They were extremely nice over there especially considering how crazy it is in town. I think everybody must be off today bec everybody was on the roads and in the stores. While they installed the cd player, I walked to Walmart and grabbed a few things we needed for the computer - blank cd's and dvd's to copy onto since this new computer now does that, and some phone adapters, etc. That place was wild and really picked over. I feel bad for the people in retail at this time of the year - what craziness.
On the way home I got all teary eyed listening to Third Day on my new cd player! I have so much - so many nice things to enjoy life with - I mean I enjoy life without those things too - but they are just so wonderful too - and so appreciated - so nice to be able to listen to beautiful music in my car without commercials. hehe I just feel blessed - not just bec of the things - but bec dh wanted to do something that he knew would be really special to me. I just feel blessed!
New Years Resolutions - well I don't usually make them but I guess the new year is a time to evaluate my goals ....
I need to set aside time to read my Bible - just 10 minutes a day - my goodness I can do that - why don't I make the time?
I need to make time for what is really important and skip the busyness!
Eat healthy and exercise and drink that water water water!
I need to be the best ME that I can be!
WELCOME to all the newbies! things will calm down for everybody soon and we will be back posting like we usually do - right now it's haram scaram.
I hope everyone had a very MERRY CHRISTMAS! I have some good news and some bad news… I’ll leave the good news for last so I can end on a good note. As for the some disheartening news, I am sure everyone has heard about the Earthquake out near Asia. So many lost lives … even tho most of the damage was around Sri Lanka and Indonesia, the tidal wave did hit Thailand, which my mother’s entire family lives. Everyone except my Uncle and my Niece has been accounted for. Most of my family lives more inland near Bangkok, however, my uncle and my niece, from what I heard from my mother, they were going to the market out that way. More than likely they got caught up in the hussle and bussle of things, because I do not think they would drive that far to go to the market. My mother last spoke with her family last night, so I am sure I will get more news later in the day… but this is as much as I know right now So I’m praying things are ok with them and for those families that are in turmoil. I have a good feeling about my uncle and niece… so I’m gonna hold on to that right now.
Leenie – I have of course the standard – Lose Weight – resolution, but now I have a new motivation. I’ll explain it in a bit. As far as New Years’ plans, we’re heading over to a friends place to celebrate the New Year.
CIN – I know about withdrawal symptoms! I haven’t been on the computer for over a week… but I have a good excuse… I’ll explain it in a bit
Tippy – The walmarts out here were opened 24 hours. Boy, were they thrashed! Everything was scooped up and purchased, and the shelves were all tossed about and nothing was where it was suppose to be. I saw many of the employees shaking their heads as they tried to fix up the shelves and place items back in their correct spots. It was definitely nuts!
Darlene – WELCOME!
Lanee – Shop to til you drop… it was definitely used well by myself and others. I love those after Christmas sales!! I got my step daughter some adorable pants from Sears that were normally 30 bucks and got them for 14.99!! I love it! I’m heading out again after this post hehehe! Shop til I DROP! *hugz*
Liz – Amen to that. I feel the same way, if I don’t work on myself first, I’m not good to those around me when I ask for them to do the same or what not. This next year will be a year to work on me. As selfish as it may sound, I need to work on me. I am sure I can get the others to work on themselves as well, Brit and James have already stated they were willing to work on themselves with me, so I’m really happy for that But I definitely think it’s a good start! Best of luck for you with your goals!
Cathy – I got a late start this morning on shopping, but I got a nice early start yesterday! I definitely going to try Circuit City too… Among other places. Great resolutions!
Well ladies, aside from starting off on a really sad note, I would like to end this post with a good note. I’ll post my resolutions later, as I’m still working on them right now.
I haven’t been around for almost a week now, but let me explain. Brit went to her grandmothers, and then James came in to the bedroom and told me to pack my bags for a 3 day “us” trip. He didn’t tell me where we were going, so I packed and figured we needed some “us” time. We left Tuesday last week. Well, we ended up staying at a wonderful hotel out in Oceanside. To make a long story short… James decided it was time we set a date. I was so over excited that I ended up falling off the bed and putting a nice golf ball sized lump on my head, but that’s another story it requires medical attention, shaving my head (well the area around the boo-boo) and a few other things. Needless to say, we’ve set a date. Well two dates Either October 2006 or March 2007. I know it’s a long way off, but it’s for good reason. As I mentioned to Leenie before, this is my new motivation for loosing weight. (of course among many other reasons) but this definitely helps. I don’t want to be a fat bride. I really hope this motivates me to do the right thing! Another reason it’s a bit off is, money, and school… Money to be able to pay for it and school, I wanna be able to finish school because I have a VA grant that pays for my tuition, if I get married I loose that grant.
I think it’s a good, wise choice.
I’ve gotta run now tho, shopping is calling my name. I will talk with you ladies later.
Take care, and many warm wishes to everyone.
I will update you on my uncle and niece later if I can get anymore news. The phone lines to Thailand are tied up, I guess so many people are calling there right now.
WELCOME DARLENE !!! we are so glad you are here with us. Great resolutions !!!
Tippy walmart is ALWAYS busy by me, its a 40 minute drive for me and any time I go, its mobed.
Cathy, glad you got your cd player installed, isn't it wonderful that the simple things in life can make us so happy.
Lanee, enjoy your coffee. Do you have to work tomorrow ?
Liz your a sweetheart, I know your resolutions will be successful
SueMarie, gosh I pray your family is okay...HUGS!!! Congratulations on setting a date I'm sorry I chuckled a little bit when I read you fell of the bed, it sounded like an episode of Friends....giggle. I'm happy you are not seriously hurt. I got a good one to tell you. When I was 19 I was visiting a friends mother in the hospital...well it was so hot that I passed out and wound up being a patient. I cracked my head open, needed stitches and they shaved part of my head as well LOLOLOL !!! I felt sooooooooooo stupid.
Cin good luck at the meetings, I hope LOTS of folks show up. Your new years sounds great!! ENJOY
Well I need to get DD off to bed early tonight, she is cranky.
Good news ladies! My Uncle and my niece are at home now. They got caught up in the hype about what had happened. My mother was finally able to get through at about 10:30 this evening. Which I think she said was about 1:30 p.m. for them in Thailand. WHEW! I had a good feeling about it tho, they were far to inland to be affected. But thank the Lord they are okie either way.
Leenie - I didn't need stitches, but they shaved my head anyways wahhh... well I got a lot of hair, and it was only a small area but it sure feels weird!
I went shopping today, for a long time LOL! They have this new area up by us called Victoria Gardens. It's a mall, but it's not really a mall... I don't know how to explain it. Basically, it's an open air mall, where all the stores are in this one area, but you walk outside to get to them. It's beautiful. It's kinda like a small town with all these shops up and down the street. Except, dang, all the expensive stores are there, like Abercrombie, Guess, Armani... eeesh. I saw this really cute sweater that I was thinking about getting for James, it was 50% off!!! Gorgeous... then the price. It was $150 holy cow! We took off for the mall at 3:00 and got home at like 10:00 Did a lot of walking! Course I had Panda Express Chinese food for dinner. Oh and I bought a candy apple hehhehe but I think I walked it off LOL... at least I hope.
My poor feet. At least I got some good news when got home... That made it all better.
I am heading to bed now ladies, catch you later...
Hi Ladies,
Guess I am the first one to post this morning. And I am about to drink my first
cup of coffee. I go to work early this morning. At 8:30am..
Hope you ladies have a terrific day! I sure will try!
It's a little chilly this morning. Brrrr.
Oh, we watched a good DVD last night. I think it was called I.ROBOT.. We enjoyed it.. Will Smith was in it. It had plenty of action in it..
Hugs, Lanee...
