Talking Election Day Chat - Nov 2

Good Morning,

Just a friendly reminder to go and vote today. I am so greatful to all the Americans who lost their lives defending this land and to all the soldiers who are here with us today, still defending this country. Thank you for giving me the RIGHT to vote !! Thank you all.

Its a beautiful day out. Our campus here at work is just bursting w/color. They have rows and rows of those bushes that turn BRIGHT red and in between those are trees, that are an orangy red, its so cool. Wish I could take pictures but they don't allow cameras on site. Most the trees are gold and burnt orange now.

Did good eating yesterday and exercised and drank my water

How's everyone today ?

Wink Hi everyone!

Leenie: Sounds like a beautiful fall day in N.J. It's nice here too, but no pretty colors, and WARM for this time of year.

I'm going to the doctor's in a bit. Nasty UTI, plus some other probs. I also have to see my ortho dr. later today Please say a prayer for me.

DH and I took advantage of early voting last week. If you haven't voted yet, PLEASE make it a priority! We take our freedom too much for granted.

Have a wonderful day!

Good Morning Gang!

hey Leenie I voted at 6:30 this morning. I needed army boots to get into the building, because we had the biggest baddest storm last night - that looks like it's gonna go ahead and last all day long too (have ya'll seen Louisiana on the national weather today - yikes) but one of the ladies said "I am so sorry it is so hard to get in here this morning - poor thing - just look at your shoes" and I said "that's ok, I figure that people have died for my right to vote and if I have to trump thru a little mud - well what is that!" and she said "well how true". I'm like you Leenie - I don't take for granted my right to vote.

and yes indeed, please keep our troops in your prayers, along with our president and our country and this election. May God's Will be done!

and hey leenie??? what kind of exercise did you do yesterday? you know I need details girlie! GOOD FOR YOU! YOU GO GIRL!

It was good to see some of our gang yesterday! Lynnie - it was good to see ya - thanks for joining me on the weekly food log.

Cin - how is the finger today? are you doing ww meetings today?

Well I'm gonna get to work. Will check back later.

hugs,
Cathy

Hey everyone!

No voting here but will be following the news closely....all the best!

Busy day today....trying to get this assignment done...a bit of work in between....need to babysit an infant and 2 year old as the mom has an appointment.

DD12 was crying the blues last night told me she feels so "messed up"...hard to know how much is drama and what really needs to be addressed by a physican. I wish my GP was still here. At a bit of a loss.....will pray about it.

I have sent an e-mail to my boss regarding my decison. I will keep you posted on the outcome.

Please pray for me ...I am feeling a bit overwhelmed by the next few weeks.

...and I will pray for you.

Be well everyone!

Eliz

well hey! some of you guys were posting at the same time as I was! so I didn't see KO's or Joanne's message until just now.

KO - your food sure sounds good. If you want - I would love for you to join me on the weekly food log. Spinach and pasta sounds so good - can you tell me how you makes yours? yum!

Joanne - I hope all goes well at the dr's appt today? I hope you feel better girl! Please keep us posted! I just said a prayer for you! hugs!

Hey Liz - we are anxious to hear what you decided about the job. Girl - overwhelmed - if you didn't feel overwhelmed I would be worried about you. I feel overwhelmed most of the time and I cannot even imagine addings classes to the mix! yikes! yes I'll be praying for you.

About teenagers - I know it is hard Liz - I have worked with teenagers ever since I was 20ish - and I guess I thought I knew all there was to know about them - I knew their moodiness and the changes I would see - I would watch those talkative & outgoing little 12 year old girls, turn 13 and then not be able to get a word out of them and watch them become so self conscious and even withdrawn - watched all the changes in the guys - but ya know - it just wasn't the same thing as living with my own teenagers! It has been a trip - that is for sure - and my guys are good guys just as I'm sure your girls are good kids - but the mood swings and insecurities can be very worrisome to us moms - and yea - drama does seem to be a big part of the teen years. Just trust your instincts and continue being the GREAT MOM that we all know you are, and I'm sure you'll have discernment in the situation. Life is never simple is it.

hugs & prayers,
cathy

Hi Gals
Yes.I am working as usual and in between meetings.did 3 yesterday and have 3 today.
The old finger is aching but part of the process. I just took some Tylenol after lunch.needless to say PAIN pills and workoing dont work well together.but I tolerate pain real well ( luckily for me)! The HUGE bandage gets me lots of care and attention and help so it isnt so bad !

I voted before coming home for lunch and am anxious about the election especially after 2000! My Dad passed away Aug 2000.........kinda glad because the last election would have drove him nuts..waiting to find out!

Looks like rain here today to.later on.I am anxious for cool weather....I want winter or summer clothes out not BOTH!

Sticking to eating right too....BRAVO for all of us the do! I had homemade veggie soup and a huge salad with turkey for lunch! Yummy if I do say so myself.

I made whole wheat lasagna in the crockpot for supper tonight because I will not get home until at least 8! I love having it ready!

Later gals
Take Care

Hey Cin!

I'm with you girlie - pain pills don't go with much except a bed - they just make you plum loosey goosey LOL

Hey? you always have the best sounding meals - I would love to be able to make some whole wheat lasagna in a crockpot - do you have a recipe for yours? if so, when you have the time and if its not too much trouble, would you post it for us? I would really like to try it.

Congrats on keeping your eating on track! don't you do that most of the time! I'm sure you do and that is why you stay at (or below goal). YOU GO GIRL!

hugs,
cathy

Cathy
Yes I do most of the time but some times I work at eating more healthfully than other times! I have my "days" like anyone else

I make crockpot lasagna many ways but today I just did this.

Cooked lean ground beef first.

Spray crockpot with Pam.
Pour canned pasta sauce in bottom.
Break up 2-3 noodles ( uncooked) put on sauce.
Put cooked meat and little moz. cheese..spices etc on noodles.
Put a little more sauce.repeat layer(noodles meat cheese)Add remainder of sauce
(I use a whole can of sauce.)..then add about 1/2 cup water on top..
Sprinkle with Parmesan and a little Mozz cheese.
Cover and cook on low heat about 4 hours

Yummy............with a fast salad...............
dinner is readt when you get home!
I also make this with sliced zuchini ,squash and fresh mushrooms..no meat.it is so good! I didnt have any today so I used meat sauce.

I like the whole wheat lasagna,,,snap off the ends to make it fit and place on the layer..........it will cook just fine!

Any kinda of pasta works in this.Penne.........ziti.broken pieces of spaghetti!

Enjoy!

Byeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
Took a nap.heading back to work!

Default Hi again chicks!

Cathy: They showed that storm on the weather today-yuck! Good for you not letting that stop you from getting out early!

Liz: I hope things work out for your DD-12 is such a hard age Please keep us posted about your decision.

CIN: I hope your finger is healing well. Your food sounds great I'm looking forward to cooler weather too-it's too warm here

Lynnie: Please keep checking in with us

Leenie: Hope your day is going well

Went to my regular doctor this a.m. Got some antibiotics for the UTI. I still have to see the ortho at 4:15. Frankly, I'm scared of what he might tell me I'm SO tired of wearing this cast and hopping around with a walker. Please keep me in your prayers!

Oh, I have GOOD news (see bottom of page)
