  • Quote: Flower - thanks! I hope you're surviving the snow when do you go to your mother's?

Lisa I'm sorry your knee is hurting you
Thank you. I'm hoping it will pass.

I have an idea what is happening to it when it gets bad.

Part of the knee cap is called the patella. A normal patella is smooth underneath. Mine is not.
I'm guessing that roughness is what makes it feel like it catches.
  • It feels late but it's only 8 pm.

    my knee is better.

    I'm watching movies this evening.

it's supposed to get down to 13 tonight. Brrrrrrr
  • Quote: Flower,

I can't get into my orthopedist until next month. I called yesterday.

I've got a walker to help me but when it's bad, I can hardly stand to put any weight on it at all.
Lisa I read your more recent post. I hope there is a simple treatment for the Patella not being smooth. Is the appointment early next month?
I hope the pain is not too bad

to everyone. I hope you all are doing well.

I blew it with the food yesterday. Ate too many carbs, calories and fats. I am noticing that my body no longer can tolerate treating it like that. So today I chose much more wisely. As I will be doing in the foreseeable future. Hoping that things are okay for you all. Does anyone know what happened to Panda?
  • My friends!! I'm so sorry I've been absent from here, especially when you're struggling with some heavy stuff.

Flower I should have also checked in on you after your trip You are so strong to have gone through with it, even knowing what to expect. You are such a kind person!!

Lisa - Oh I'm so sorry about your knee!!! that you can hardly use it. Hugs to you!!

no, we haven't heard from Panda in months now sending love to her wherever she is!

Coop - thank you for the magnesium info!!! I will look into it.

hello to everyone else We've just had so much snow that my life is work, come home, sleep as much as I can, shovel, push back snowbanks, work, repeat. It will get better love to all!!
  • Hi all
Lisa how is your knee doing? I hope the apt with the Orthopedist is early in March.

Holly great to hear from you. Please, no apologies for not posting often. Life often has different plans. Different trajectory which does not leave time, energy etc for forums. At least we got a breather from the snow for a bit. But now... those predicted winds. I am counting the weeks until May. Hoping your job continues to feel more comfortable. Thanks for your words re: my trip to Boston.

Coop I hope your dad's health has improved and he is feeling better on all levels

Kathleen Hope your apt with the surgeon went well.

Hi to everyone else . Hope all are doing well.

  • Hello friends!! Brilliant sun here trying to combat with the 8 degrees above 0. and windy.

Husband bought some supplements for me, they are magnesium glycinate, zinc, melatonin, cherry extract (?) fingers crossed!!

Still just working, shoveling, existing usual winter routine for me.

this is funny..at work, I thought I could make up some small hardware parts that are needed at a particular station, while I am at another station that is relatively boring (if you get your act together). I brought in 2 tiny plastic boxes with covers (like the size you would get of a salad dressing from take-out) to put the pieces in to keep them tidy...left them at the station...came back and they were gone. Turns out a supervisor thought someone was going to use them to steal small parts Just too frustrating!!! trying to make things better and someone thinks you're stealing. And funny to think of taking a part at a time, to try to assemble a rower at home Funny and not funny.

Husband made some cannabis oil, and we've been giving small doses to EddieDog. He has improved dramatically!!!! and his chronic ear itchiness/scratching is gone.
  • Flower - I'm sorry your trip to your mother's was so disappointing I hope your family contact is as minimal as possible, for your own sake. I really don't think you should blame yourself for any of their behaviours. I hope you've recovered from the stress!

Lisa - how is your knee doing now? Any film recommendations for us?

Holly - good luck with the supplements! Has the cramping still been bad?
  • last day of February!! If I lived in a warmer climate, I would not be so eager to KICK FEBRUARY TO THE CURB I have a friend who lives near Myrtle Beach and she posted a short vid of evening there...peepers and crickets in the background, a bat fluttering in the dark twilight..wow..nice

Coop, the cramping has been bad, I hate to say. The 'good' nights are when I am only awakened 3 or 4 times. The bad nights are over 12 times Maybe the supplements need a week or so to get in my system. I'm hopeful

Flower its been TOO cold but hasn't the sun lately been WONDERFUL Even though it is barely 20 out there now, the sun is strong enough to make icicles drip.

    Lisa how are you???

Kathleen I'm sorry that I've forgotten your surgery schedule but I am thinking of you my friend!!! hopeing that someday you will be pain free!!!

Just came in from doing more snowbank attacking, i am so proud of my Snowbank Warrior Princess I have given myself and it's been my only exercise. First winter in probably 16 years that I haven't been doing an exercise video/tape regularly. Just not possible for me at the time. But I know the shoveling is good for me.

have a great day my friends!! and tomorrow is March
  • I haven't felt much like posting. I apologize.

I was in the hospital 23 hours on Wed night to Thursday night.

    I explain later. I'm improving.
  • Lisa I am SO sorry to read that you were in the hospital Wednesday night. I hope you are feeling much better

Coop thanks for the kind words. I appreaciate it! I hope you are doing well.

Holly i I hope the person who thought someone was stealing parts, will come to understand that your natural tendency is to try to help wherever possible. Even trying to think if ingenious ways to improve things. I hope they understand what a valuable asset you are.

if the cramping persists, i coukd give you the name of my naturopath. She diagnoses and treats with many decades of knowledge combined with muscle testing for condition and what woukd be the best treatment. Most insurance in VT covers naturopathic treatment. The only problem is that she's in Burlington. I have found her to be very accurate and helpful. meanwhile, loving the forecast of so many sunny days this coming week. Daylight savings time in one week!
    .
Kathleen, I hope your medical situation is being sorted out in the most simple way possible.

I am doing horribly with food. It's not the quality of the food. But rather quantity. And there are WAY too many carbs. Chocolate and snack food are my increasingly problematic nemesis. Not sure how I am going to get back in control
  • I started a March thread for us here https://www.3fatchicks.com/forum/dep...ml#post5383684
