  • Oh wow Flower. That’s an amazing story.

It was very sunny today but pollen is quiet bad. A bit quiet in my fitness classes this holiday weekend but the subway was so crowded, many on their way to a baseball game.
I haven’t been out in ages and kind of want to do something some evening but also I don’t want to?
There’s no one I’d like to go with and I am not going out by myself on a Friday or Saturday night. I miss my best friends.
  • Quote: Hi flower,

I miss Holly, too. I hope she's ok.

I would kill for some Chinese food. There are some really good Chinese restaurants around here. Cashew chicken with fried rice!! Mmmmmmmm

I have no idea about rose bushes and how to tend them. I'll have to find out. I have 5 of them lining the front of my mobile. They all are bursting with flowers.

    Hugs to you, flower.
I hear ya re: the Chinese food. This came from a shaws supermarket hot food bar. Was not very good at all.

Re: rosebushes, if you cut them back a certain way after the bloom, they will bloom again. I think you cut where there are 5 leaves together. Honestly, it's very easy to learn and do.

sorry you suffer with pollen allergies. I hope you are not suffering too much. I would like a "quiet (small) fitness class" much better than a larger one. But would not like the crowded subway. I did that for years commuting to Boston when I worked there many years ago. I hope you can make some new friends. Well, I hope that for myself as well.
  • I changed my avatar to a picture of me that was taken when I was in Boston. I had to substantially crop it. So its off scale. I will leave it up only a few days just so people can see who i am. then back to Glenda the good witch picture

My weight this morning was fine. So I ate forbidden food. A friend gave me a gift certificate to Barnes and Noble, for Christmas. Of course the first thing I checked out was if i could use it in the cafe. YES I can. So today I got something from there. I thought it would be ordinary. But it really was great. I will not go into details. Suffice to say, the two things I bought were packed with calories. Then I got more calories at the health food store and Trader Joe's later in the day.

I don't have much money left for the next couple of weeks. So I said an abundance prayer as I was walking in to Trader Joe's. I forgot about it. but at the register the woman told me to not bother giving her the change. Someone left some coins. Made me smile. Yes, it was not a lot of money at all. But at least it was something

Was rainy here today. But that is okay with me as long as it is warm out. Gardens need the rain. So it was a lovely day. Tonight I have to make a birthday card for someone i used to help. She calls me "mommy" long story. But I helped her for years. Often more than 10 hours a day. 7 days a week. No days off. My heart loves her beyond words. So tonight I will make her a magical birthday card. ♥♥♥

Hoping everyone has a good night and a good Sunday. Pat
  • I watched "The Tale" tonight. It was kinda good but really depressing. Really depressing.

I had a headache tonight. My stomach was upset, too. Sometimes when it is, I get headaches. My neck is also tight.

Today is my daughters 25th birthday.
  • I am still so sick to my stomach this morning. I feel like I could vomit.
  • Lisa, happy birthday to your daughter. I hope your stomach settles very soon
  • Quote: Lisa, happy birthday to your daughter. I hope your stomach settles very soon
We spoke on the phone, it was nice. Love that girl.
My stomach is better but I'm so incredibly tired. I must be trying to catch something. I've slept most of the day and I'm still tired.

    Enjoy your Sunday, flower.

Good to see you post, panda.

When I get money, I'm going to go out on my own. I can't wait. I will admit too that sometimes when I have the chance to go out, I don't go. I would still like to though.

I'm so sorry your allergies are bothering you.

What kind of fitness class do you take, cupcake?
  • Great to see you, Flower. I tried to update my avatar on my phone but the image was too large and sideways so I canceled out. Maybe I will do it on my laptop. Or I noticed there’s also an Album feature on 3FC.

I have had a slight headache past few days but made it to all my weekend fitness classes.
So yesterday was 90 degrees and this morning the forecast was 65. I’m glad I brought a zipped hoodie because it was 50s all day. I was cold in my sundress and sandals.

I’m feeling blah but happy to be indoors now watching tv.
  • I was a bit silly at the weekend I went out for dinner and few drinks for a friend's birthday, but my body is not used to rich food or alcohol anymore, and I ended up very ill. Yesterday morning I blacked out on my way to the bathroom and I have some nasty bruises today. I feel very stupid.

Oh wow. Hope you’re feeling better today. That can happen, sometimes even just an “off” day can make me feel foggy or faint.

Lisa, I take barre, hit intensity training and some other cardio.

Some friends have been checking on me but I just reply so they know I am alive. I don’t want to see them. I want to meet new people, people I have more in common with. My other friends like to gossip and go out in large groups and don’t have basic manners, in my opinion. It was ok when I had my ‘real’ friends to hang with but now I can’t just be left with the wacky group so I’d rather be on my own to read and do errands and just basically find productive things to do. But I do feel by now I need to start trying to meet some new friends.

Oh and I got on the scale today; I’ve gained 4.2 lbs. ugh
  • Oh my gosh I've missed so much here and you're all being so talkative without me I need to jump back in!!

Flower - that is an incredible coincidence about the timing of the photo of your friend and you showing up at the shop!! LOVE hearing about your gardening, and descriptions of the culprits who encroach, lol!! i will get pics of my flowers once they start looking nice, everything is still small (annuals). I probably spoke of it already but we have started from seed the following - sunflowers, pumpkins, squash (2 fall varieties), gourds, nastiurtiums, zinnias, petunias, pansies, forget-me-nots (i have those growing wild but I want some in pots) ornamental corn, tomatoes, morning glories and scarlet runner beans. We have a small greenhouse frame that we cover with netting, and plant the climbers in there, it looked spectacular last year. We have one raised bed for the tomatoes, a long (like 30 ft.) row for the sunflowers/corn (as a futile barrier from the McMansion next door) a plot between the lawn edge and the beginning of the woods for the squashes and pumpkins. I will attach pics when I can. I hope you are battling the cravings, it sounds like you usually eat within your limits and you must have, to maintain your loss for so long!

Lisa I was sad to read when you were feeling so down!! belated HB to your dear daughter who is also your friend!! and glad that your therapist is so kind and good to you.

PandaCupcake I hope you are able to make some new, better friends! and I bet the scale will be nicer to you soon

Coop oh no!!! you poor thing!! I'm so glad you didn't hit your head!! or did you?? did you go to a doctor to be checked out?? sending long distance speedy healing to you, Coop!!

Yes I have been working LOTS of hours, they need help in the Dining Room and I like the money. Almost 50 hours a week, 2 weeks in a row. I am finally getting along very good with the new chef, there was some friction for the first few days as of course we should have expected. But all seems good now. I heard, from someone else, that he already has a very high professional opinion of me!! which means alot.

Yes I got a new front tire for my bike and am finally able to ride it, took it to work 3 days in a row last week, yay! Also working on the lawn and potting flowers and such, and today we mowed and weedwhacked and it looks so nice.
  • Holly, great to hear your updates. I’m jealous of the planned garden. I’m glad the new chef appreciates your work.

I have started going through my summer clothing and stuff in general and have many bags to discard or donate. I have to walk over to the bin and may roll it in my suitcase, so it will be done over multiple trips.
I will be glad when I am done but currently it looks worse. My apartment was clean and tidy except for the desk and a closet, but now there’s bags of stuff everywhere- things that had been packed in the basement.

    It’s a process.
  • PandaCupcake - that is frustrating, isn't it, when you are in the process of accomplishing tidying and relocating stuff, and it looks like a hurricane in the meantime. But great that you are tackling that project! So you have a place to donate the clothing? that is generous and re-use and recycling

I was just outside to 'try' to water the rhubarb plants but was driven inside by the bugs the black flies are horrible this time of year, the ONLY thing I don't like about the month of May. I have two new bites that are itching horribly but I'm applying AfterBite every 2 minutes and it helps, though the ammonia stinks.

But other than the bugs, I AM IN BLISS. The gorgeous green of the trees, shrubs, mountains, the lilacs I can smell when I'm on the motorcycle riding to work, being in the really nice large kitchen and I decide what I want to make for people's scrumptious desserts...and getting along well with the new people. Then coming home and just loving the warm sunny weather and looking at the flowers emerging...yeah this is MY time of year!!
