I don't know how you work so much but I'm very glad you are all right physically and emotionally. I'd still make hubby rub your feet. I'm so tired tonight. Last night I was too. Yawning by 8 pm tonight. I've been kinda down today, everything's ok, I'm just not myself. Sometimes I'm just bored. Wish I could work but physically I'm not up to it yet. I've started Journaling. Jennifer called yesterday. Hank the beagle is sick. He had what the vet compared to a stroke. Hank is a senior dog so the vet said what happened to him was kinda common. He should recover quickly. He is disoriented and confused. Jennifer put him in diapers, since he can't walk. Poor Hanky. :( :( Miss you all. |
Hi Lisa! aw, poor Hank! :( I sure hope he recovers quickly. I'm sure he's getting lots of love from Jennifer :) It's so sad when our furry friends are sick or ill or injured. we love them so much :)
thank you for the concern about working so much, hubby does enjoy giving back rubs, which I actually prefer because I have a senstive spot on the bottom of my foot and I dont want him to accidentally put too much pressure on it :D Boredom can make you feel down, that's for sure. Did you bring your scrapbooking materials in your move? I like to journal, I love the actual action of writing on paper with a good pen, if the pen writes smooth and is not gloppy :D We had some freezing rain last night but the main roads are apparently OK, just the secondary roads and unpaved roads are tricky. ONE MORE DAY of work then I have 2 days off :carrot: hope everyone is doing OK and have a good day!! |
OH my gosh I forgot to tell of ths STUPENDOUS news, the Rat B@st@rd boss gave me a $1 / hour raise!! :carrot: :faint: :jig:
|
Just popping in to say have a great day everyone :grouphug:

Hi Everyone,
It is POURING here on the Cape, but it beats snow. Any day without snow is one day closer to Spring. Our Library is collecting Box Tops for Ed for the children's room , and I volunteered to count them. AGH! I did not realize I had to check every expiration date- and some are barely visible; they must be packed 50 to a zip lock mini bag; they must be trimmed. It is more work than I thought, but it is keeping me busy. Holly, it sounds like the Rat B*stard had a Scrooge-type epiphany! Any news on the sale? Kathleen, how is the family? Lisa, I am sorry to hear about the dog....it is so hard when pets are sick. Congrats on the weight loss! I am trying to lose a few before I go to Boston for my annual physical. I had my blood drawn and have already gotten the results, so I know everything tested is normal. I am 65 and on no medications, and I attribute it to exercise. Joining the Y was one of the best things I have ever done for myself. Hello to everyone else! Monica |

Still no significant snowfall here. I brought my snow boots from Ohio and no fricken snow!!!! |

Don't you hate it when good things come back to bite you in the butt? I miss snow. :( Jennifer adopted Hank the blind beagle last year and she adores him, Monica. She is the best pet momma. She loves her furbabies more than her own momma. (Me) Hank is still struggling a bit. He won't eat, Jennifer says he is nauseated. She's been trying to trick him into eating and he's being a butthead. (Her words) He is known for being a bit cranky. He growls at the vet and groomer. I commend you for exercising, Monica. I detest it. |
Hi Jesika,
Thanks for stopping in. :) Miss all you girls. |
Hi ladies,
I feel pretty good today. I got a lot done. Went through my scrapbooking stuff and threw away most of my paper. It still smelled like smoke and one of my stinking cats peed on the box. Grrrrr I did save pens and chalk. It's OK. I'm not that mad, I just will have to start buying new paper. Man, since the house fire, I have paired down so many of my belongings. It's amazing how much I've gotten rid of. Hank the beagle has not rebounded like we hoped. Jennifer is trying to get him back to the vet tomorrow. I'm worried about him. I feel helpless. :( I hope you all are feeling well. Have a good night. Sweet dreams. |
Hi Lisa, I'm glad you had a good day and felt good!! boo to the kitty who peed on your scrapbooking stuff, rascal kitty. We're feeling bad for Hank and for your daughter who has to go through feeling the motherly sadness about a child who is struggling!
Lisa oh how i wish I could send you some of our snow :D Monica wow yeah those little tags must have tiny dates to read, but kudos to you for your volunteering :) and YAY for your commitment to regular exercise that is obviously keeping you healthy!!!:carrot: How soon is your appt. in Boston? news about the store sale - yes - the RB told us now the supposed date is March 1. Our response now is 'whatever dude' However my raise in pay equates to about $170 extra a month!! I'm gonna sock that right to a credit card balance. Hi to everyone else! Lisa, I know you say you detest exercise, I know the 'trick' to doing some kind of exercise is to enjoy it, I just *love* Leslie Sansone, her manner is so sweet! and forgiving. the particular walking workout of hers that I've been doing is this one https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yr41_8QOTF8&t=192s I can watch online content thu our TV so my small living room rug is my exercise place, has been for years. Does anyone else here start seeds indoors, early, in anticipation of Spring? I've just been slogging through the winter days but sometime in February I allow myself to start fantasizing about Spring. Gotta finish up my coffee, clear the living room rug, strap on those ankle weights and do a workout. Then go work for the RB  |
Hi Holly, hi ladies
I'll post again later but I wanted to let you all know that Jennifer wound up having to put Hank down. I feel so bad for her. Such a sad sad time. She is blaming herself for not doing it last week. I had to give her a talk and remind her that she is a great doggy mom. She could not see into the future and find out that Hanky was not going to recover. If she could have seen his inability to recover, she would have taken him right away. She feels guilty. I hope my talk with her helped. Love you all. |
LisaLovesHearts, I am sorry to read the news about the dog passing.
I am new here. I stayed in tonight after a friend had to cancel plans. I am watching a movie. I stayed in yesterday as well but even though I have been preferring to hibernate inside and relax, I did get some errands and housework done, and I was out socializing til late Thursday night. I have been doing well with meals past few days. I have not started exercising yet. I donated a couple bags of clothing. I donate pretty regularly but I don’t have room to store all the stuff I have; trying to let things go and be more organized. Else I feel overwhelmed and can’t concentrate or relax. It’s mainly my bedroom as I organized the dresser drawers and want to clear the main closet. The weather was mild today- so I opened all the windows and felt like “spring” cleaning. I stopped at a bakery today but only ordered a coffee. By not going out this weekend, that saved me calories. |

It's so very nice to meet you. Welcome to the group. We have a small but mighty group. We adore each other and our group has been going for quite a while. Gosh, I'll have to figure out how long. I've never thought about it. I haven't been eating very well myself, panda. I'm on a low carb eating plan. Towards the end of the month, most of my healthier food is gone. I'm on a budget so I only have so much money. Once again, welcome and vent when you need. |
Hi ladies,
I finally colored my hair tonight. It's such a relief to get it done. I'm going to put some spray in it tomorrow, it should look pretty nice. It's not too short, just right. :) I'm thinking about moving the 1st of the month. I'll be breaking my rental agreement but I just can't afford my rent. I called on a mobile home today and am waiting on a return call. I like mobiles much more than apartments. Well see, I am really hoping I can make this move happen. I miss all your posts very much. I hope you are well. |
:welcome: to PandaCupcake!! as Lisa said we are a small but mighty group :) please visit often!
Oh Lisa Im so sorry about Hank! and Jennifer feeling so badly about it. hugs to you and her  such a hard thing to do. Lisa I'm glad you are happy with your hair!! that always makes one feel good :) and best wishes with finding a different place to live? HI to everyone else!! yes I miss hearing from our great group. It is very blah wintry weather here, and the snow in the yard has frozen to rock hard, I cant even walk on it to give Eddie the dog a different path. we've had to sand to just be able to be on the path, and get out of the driveway. It's better than shoveling though I guess. My raise kicked in and I see the difference in my paycheck, woohoo. And today is my "friday". Yay!! |
Hi everyone! Lisa that’s great you love your new hair! I have been doing nothing with mine- last time it was cut or colored was in October. Think I’m growing it longer, wearing it up a lot in a messy lazy bun and bobby pinning the flyaways... and then throwing a winter hat over it(!)
Vermont Mom - congrats on the raise! I made it to my French class last night- just going for fun. Last class I had skipped but made it to class 1 and 3. Proud i got out of my apartment. |
After being frustrated with so many days in a row weighing exactly the same number, I ate too many calories last night (popcorn, ice cream). Today the scale went up 1.6 pounds. Ugh.
My boyfriend has been ill and I offered to go to the hospital with him when they run more tests but he declined, so I asked if I can visit him after and he said maybe. I’m worried because last week he had some tests done and they didn’t look good. I haven’t been sleeping that well. I am going to add some regular walking to my schedule as I think it will be helpful if even just for my mind and to get outside. Just now I stepped out to do an errand and it was nice to see the sun. I work from home and this month there have been many days in a row that I didn’t step outside at all. |
Hi panda,
You have a lot going on right now. Try not to be so hard on yourself. I am sorry about your boyfriend situation. That sounds very upsetting. I have cut carbs and lost 25 lbs. It's actually not that hard to do. I cheat at times but overall, I think I'm doing pretty good. Bread is the hardest thing for me to give up. Right now, I'd kill for a cheeseburger. I had a small piece of birthday cake tonight and pardon my French but it was so ****in good. Glad you are posting with us. |
I was invited to a birthday party tonight. I had a really good time. It was nice to get out and socialize.
Miss all you gals. Hope youse all ok. :) |
Lisa, I am glad the party was a great time. I sometimes drag myself out but the best is when I actually enjoy the time - makes me very happy.
Yesterday the scale was up 1.6 pounds but today it is back to the steady 142.0 number. I think my scale wanted to mess with me, like, ok you are frustrated that you keep seeing the exact same number? Well how would you like it if we just give you a HIGHER number? Ha. So yes, I was actually relieved to see it went back down. It’s February 1st so of course I feel like “Clean slate/day 1”. I am feeling good about my plans. I have cut down on social activities a bit (but replacing with healthy activities) and will really need to strategize for outings- like next week I have at least one dinner party so will need to be careful with the calories. I can do it! |
PandaCupcake yes I bet the scale was just messing with you! :D Hey sorry to hear about your BF being ill, I hope he is under care and getting better? Congrats on your decision to try to get outside more, i guess it does help us. And I think it's great you go to a French class, 'just for fun' !
Lisa Heck yeah girl you are doing good with your carb cutting!! :carrot: I bet the piece of b-day cake tasted soooo good! and yay for you for getting out to socialize and that you had a good time!! Are you still thinking about moving? Is your daughter doing a little better, about Hank? I hope so  HI to Monica, Coop, Kathleen, JesikaBeth! would love to hear from all of you! I have to keep on, keepin' on, with my better food choices and exercise, I have kicked January to the curb, but still have to 'get through' Feb. and March! I know I'm not supposed to 'wish my life away' but it is really blah here ...cold, locked in ice, we haven't had much sun in a long time. I do daydream about the month of May, getting the motorcycle out, the summer job, getting back into my beloved routine there, and the excitement/nervousness about the new chef, he has worked at Ritz Carltons in Stockholm (!) and in the U.S., and there will be a new breakfast/lunch cook that I have to get along with  LIke I'm gonna have to establish my position in the kitchen...which is dumb because I've got 17 years seniority over them!! |
I started the February thread here https://www.3fatchicks.com/forum/dep...on-thread.html
