Liz do you have a camera into my house? lol It is kind of messy.

I am having a great day so far. It is Friday and I will be getting off work at 2:30. I think hubby is going to meat me here so we can start to workout again. I made sure that I brought my clothes so I have no excuse today.

Our dinner last night was great. I loved the sushi. All I ate were the veggie rolls but I wad telling him how full I was but it was a clean full. I know it was from the lack of fat in sushi. I may even have it for lunch. The place is right around the corner from here.

I know I am not supposed to complain about this but it is COLD here. Tonight we are going to have 21 as the temp. Houses down here are not ready for that temp. I don't think I will be able to sleep again tonight either. I was worried all night that the pipes would freeze. Meanwhile Joe and the dog were hogging the bed. I think he felt sorry for here and let here sleep on the bed. I think she may be worse than a kid.

How is everyone elses day going/ Should be great, we have a weekend to look forward to.

Well isn't this just the busiest board around?! Where the heck is everyone?

Popped into chat yesterday...nice to see that it is indeed alive and well.

Way to go on the work out kemp.

Anyone ever heard of curves? What do you all think,

The conference yesterday was wonderful but I was wiped by the time I got home.

Take care

Be back later

Liz

I think I'd better send a box of long underwear to Louisiana. I wear the uppers from December through March.......yes I change them regularly.
Curves is an exercise place that is doing very well in Wisconsin. I haven't heard anything negative about it.
DD and SIL are headed to her fathers shop that burned to help pack up whatever is salvable(sp?) Her father won't be a pauper as a result of the fire but there were big loses. Am willing to bet the farm that he was under insured. That sounds like him
Nothing exciting here......am deboning a turkey we had last night. I have a lot of planned leftovers in the freezer and when that's gone there is always turkey soup. Yum. My outside(fat) cats will be getting all the ick so they will stuff themselves and go to sleep somewhere in the sun. At least the sun is warm.

The chat has people in it????? WHEN???????????? Everytime I pop in there is no one in there but lil' ol' me.

Hi Everyone,

Lizzy, I've heard good things about Curves, I've even seen TV comercials for them, and the good thing about the TV comercials is that they use plus size people, its about time huh. For me going to a gym or what not w/very skinny people is very intimidating, its like they can't relate. Good for you !!! Let me know how you make out there.

Kem, the cold is only in your mind HAAAAAA ! I know what you mean, its cold here to, 10 degrees in the am...burrr. We had 1" of snow last night which is FINE, I'm glad we didn't get any more. When I drove up our street today to bring grace to my mom's the snow looked like a blanket of glitter, it was the prettiest thing I've seen in a long time.

Cin, you need another cup of coffee !! I hate when you post and ooops its gone...suggestion, if you have a long post, copy it before you submit, this way if you lose it you can just paste it in another post.

Linny...........boooooooooooo !
Tippy...........boooooooooooo !
Viola...........boooooooooooo !
April............boooooooooooo !
Meg............boooooooooooo !
Marleah......boooooooooooo !
Cathy.........boooooooooooo !
Sweet........boooooooooooo !
Lady...........boooooooooooo !
Anna..........boooooooooooo !

Everyone ...BOOOOOOOOO !

Gotta run, bbl, Love Leenie

Hey there gang!

Yes Tip - please do send us some long underwear! It was 21 at my house this morning, but the sun is shining so I don't find it bad at all. Of course, I am inside and that does make a difference. It is weird to feel the air so cold outside - we are not use to that at all. The only thing about long johns is that your clothes have to be loose enough to get them on over the long johns - I don't believe I have anything that loose! :-(

Liz - Curves does great around here. I've never been but I hear lots of good things about it. Let us know what you decide. When you get the time, tell us a little about the conference.

Cin - I read your message at the end of Thursday's post. If you ever wanna start the thread for the day just click on "New Thread" and then name it for that day and you will have started it for the day. :-) Did you get all your calls made yesterday? You did better then me this morning by doing your walking tape before coming in here. I woke up late and didn't get it in. rats. You go girl!

Kemp - I have never tasted sushi. How do they make sure that people don't get sick on raw fish??? I may have to venture out and try that sometime ??? I will have to think about it.

Leens - it must be busy at work? you didn't tell us what you are doing today?

Where has LindaT been all week? busy busy busy

Hey hey hey to all to come!

Hope everybody has a great day!

hugs,
Cathy

Default Hello Ladies!!!

Ok Cin....here I am....I swear I have been so bad about coming on to chat or post!!! My brain is running behind I think...LOL

Plus on top of tending to Kail ( now 2 yrs old ) I watch another little boy who also just turned 2 yrs old so they keep me busy!!!

I weighed in today for my weekly weigh in and I am down 3.5 lbs for the week.....yahooo....I only have 17.5 to go to get to goal!!!

On another note.....I started taking a new antidepressant called Lexapro ....today is day # 7 on it and it is supposedly the quickest onset of them all....well I have noticed it has taken a small bit of edge off.....so I can only hope for better results within the next couple of weeks!!!

How is everyone else doing this week????

I am so glad Friday is here....I can sleep in tomorrow or at least be lazy and not have to get Jesse off to school or get up to take care of the other little boy!!!!

Hope your all doing well......time for me to get the boys settled down and ready for naps.....so I can relax a bit!!!

Take care all....Lisa

Good morning ladies,

I was up earlier than usual....DH & I met friends at Tim Horton's for coffee.....then I went for the light therapy....feeling good today.

Then I had a doctor's appointment...my doctor doesn't believe in light therapy....he says I should get outside everyday.....I told him.....if the light therapy works....I will use it....I don't think that I would get outside everyday in the winter....it's just not practical....I never was one to go outside everyday. So what do you do when you don't agree with your doctor....I used to be an RN....I know these doctors are not gods!!!!

Yesterday I went to the class...on living with depression....we were supposed to make a small goal for the past week....something you will accomplish....so I decided to walk for 5 minutes on the treadmill once this past week...I did...so for this week....I will walk on the treadmill for 5 minutes....2 times.

I have an appointment with the counselor this afternoon.

Kemp....your dog slept in your bed last night....that is sweet. In the last few weeks....my dog has started to come on the couch with me down the basement....he is 42 pounds.....he will come on top of me when I am laying on my back & lay there....& want me to pet him.....when I am laying there on my side.....reading a book.....with my legs bent.....he will come & lay down behind my legs & curl up. DH says that Charlie....the dog looks so contented lying there.

It is warmer here up north than where you live Kemp...it is -0.4C...which is about +32F....you said it is 21F where you live.

Liz.....what was the conference about that you went to?

marleah.....Sunshine does help a lot of people in the winter.
The class that I am going to on living with depression...said that there is a lot of Seasonal Affective Disorder in the city I live in. We are more north. maybe that is why.
You talk about indecision...I have a problem with that....at Xmas I had to buy a gift for a friend...for $10....Even after I had bought something....I changed my mind three times.

Can someone tell me what I have to do to get into chat?....have never done that before.

I should go & have my 2nd cup of coffee.....maybe I am rambling here.

April

Hello

CIN you must read my mind As soon as I read that you took a shower before the furnace man showed, I immediently wondered what the two had to do with one another. And of course you KNOW what I thought!!

MOM I too take Lexapro...have been on it for a couple months now. So far so good. I don't have the urge to rip off heads any more. My doctor said it was not like Zoloft and some of the others that cause dramatic weight gain. That in itself works for me.

Well, the cake decorating is 3/4 done. My hand is so tired. Wish I had it finished. I spent an hour just getting the icing purple enough. Purple seems to be the worst color to make. It kept looking gray blue....sigh. Now if I can figure out a reason to get out of the party. I'd rather stay home in my flannels than listen to a bunch of 6 yr olds. The party is at Pizza Hut. Another reason to find an excuse.

I ran out to the cafe with Dad. He was ready to go "now" and that meant I had time to throw on some sandels and a jacket. No bra. That's one thing I like about winter...a jacket covers all evils.

Time for me to get back to the cake...

Catch you all later....

Talking Ha-Ha-Ha

I too ran out this morning in my nightie, sweats and shoes with no socks...and it is -10

Kids missed the bus! I should have made them walk

The conference was called "What to say when there are no words" What professionals can say when there are grief issues with patients and family...both anticipated and unanticipated....for example when they get a difficult diagnosis, the relationship changes for one reason or another, a death etc.

It was so great and hit home to me as a nurse and as a bereaved parent. I really enjoyed the day! There really wasn't a lot of material that we don't know but sometimes it is nice to have things reinforced or to have reminders.....the biggest thing that we need to remember is that there is no RIGHT or WRONG way to grieve! You can't cry too much or too little, you can't talk too much or too little, and you can't stay sad for too long or too little...grief is not a linear process....it is a circular one...we go through stages and then go back again....especially with a trigger like a song playing in the grocery store, or a birthday or a trip somewhere there is a lot of memories....we may have a series of happy moments and then few teary ones.....it is all good!

We all have grief issues...past issues from growing up, relationship and career issues and many surrounding our weight....what sorts of things have we not done because of our weight etc?

Any thoughts?

Eliz
