Depression and Weight IssuesHave you been diagnosed with depression, are possibly on depression medication, and find it affects your weight loss efforts? Post here for support!
I'm new here but sure am happy to have found this place.
Long story short:
6 years ago I was working humanitarian aid in the Third World, in shape, strong, feeling great.
Met the man of my dreams/got married.
Came back to the states and gained a little weight but not much.
2 Yrs ago, man of my dreams cheated on me with best friend.
I crashed.
Have gained weight steadily and rapidly since and am now at 260, heart problems, high blood pressure and clinical depression.
Went to doc last month and got started on antidepressants, bp meds and now have started dieting and taking xenical.
I have a feeling I might become a fixture around here becuase I sure NEED y'all.
Okay, bio.

Jesus is first and foremost in my life. I'm the wife of a youth pastor. we are very active w/ our youth so I've got to get this weight off so i can keep up w/ them.
Unfortunately, I could not paste the questions onto this message. I want to tell you that I am 65 years old and I am ashamed that I am still struggling to lose weight. I am thinking of returning to WW but I am ashamed to go there where other people know me, and also where I probably will have a hard time loosing. And yet I know that I should lose weight. I am about 75 lbs over my goal weight. I know that as I continue to age (hopefully) it is better to be thin. I am pretty healthy now, except for the depression, but I feel really hopeless about loosing weight. Does anyone elase have this problem? I have tried it so many times -- and then if I loose I always gain it back.

Jane.....I have your problem.....I am 60 years old now......have been trying to lose weight for over 40 years. I probably have as much weight to lose as you do.
There are times that I feel like giving up in this struggle.....but I seem to pick myself up & start over again....so hang in there.....I think there are lots like us.....who have struggled for decades at this.
