Depression and Weight IssuesHave you been diagnosed with depression, are possibly on depression medication, and find it affects your weight loss efforts? Post here for support!
I cannot sleep at all. Its way too hot in my room, and my mind just will not shut off. If I dont fall asleep soon, I'm gonna have a panic attack. I can seriously feel one coming on!!! Ughhh I cant handle them alone.
If you cannot sleep, don't lay around waiting for a panic attack. Keep your mind busy until you are so tired you can't help but fall asleep almost immediately. Reading a book usually helps me.
Next time you feel like this, or anytime actually feel free to contact me via the web. I am online most nights verrrrrry late, and always willing to chat.
Deep breaths.
I went to the ER and they gave me some anti anxiety meds..something called, Lorazepam. The ER doc couldnt believe my reg. doc didnt prescribe me a anti anxiety medication. So now I'm like wondering why I'm just on prozac only. It helps with the depression..but clearly it didnt help with the panic attack. Hmm weird. Anyways..I'm gonna take one and go to bed now.
Honey you need to get intouch with your doctor, he's the only one that can help you I'm so sorry your going through this. Did you call the hospital and tell them what happened?
Hey hon - I have bad anxiety and panic also. Lorazepam is Ativan - very addictive but can be very useful for anxiety. I usually take 1/2 mg if I get panicky during the day - 1mg at night - only as needed. I am starting to use alternate methods - deep breathing, subliminal recordings etc because I also take Buspar for anxiety and still have major problems.
I am SO sorry this is happening to you. I know it is overwhelming and terrifying. PLEASE see your doctor and get a referral to a psychologist/psychiatrist. Meds can be very helpful but you also need to work on why you are having the anxiety.
I hope you get this under control soon - I know it is debilitating.
I just wanted to put this out there... Although Prozac is a great drug for most. In some of us the SSRI's can actually cause anxiety... Not to say this is what is happening to you but I'm bipolar and SSRI's absolutely cause my manic swings... I can't take them... I have heard that Zoloft has a good depression/anxiety combo affect... Oh just a side note; if you need the ativan to kick in fast, let it dissolve under your tongue.. (sublingual)
Good luck, it sounds like you've had a tough time of it... Hang in there...
