hey gang,

i've been really out of it this week as i've got a cold or bronchitis or some kind of crude. my ribs are killing me from coughing my fool head off...but i've got to get better QUICK bec 2 weeks from today my sister is taking me to Hawaii. i can't believe it is almost here!

my mom is doing much better. thanks everyone! they changed her blood pressure meds around again and her blood pressure is much more normal so we are all thankful for that.

Me-Amarie - I'm so sorry about the disappointment with the graduate school. I have no doubt tho that there is something else better for you just around the corner. I truly believe that doors open (and close) for a reason. I knows that doesn't change the disappointment of things not working out the way you want them too, but I hope that you'll see a better "door" open for you. hugs

Hey Hope - which Leslie Sansone workouts do you have? I love them! I'll be GLAD when I feel well enough to get back to them.

Leenie - life is insanely busy that is for sure. try to take it easy ;-)

hope everybody has a great weekend
hugs,
cathy

Thanks, everyone, for your kind welcome. I do know that 14 pounds in three weeks is good, but I am an impatient person and have been working at it so hard! I have the "Getting Started" for the new Core Plan, but I just can't figure it out. And it seems so ripe for abuse! I was comfortable with the Flex Plan so I just went back to it.

Also, I have arthritis in my legs and feet and COPD, and walking is sometimes a problem. I went out with my BFF and her daughter the other day to a little shopping town, and after an hour, my feet just gave out and I got short of breath. So I don't get much exercise. I spend a lot of time at the computer. I did spend a good four hours on my aching feet in the kitchen today making the cabbage soup and no-fat Chicken cacciatore -- does chopping count as exercise?

Thanks, Hope4me, for your response last night at 1:30 am! I must have signed off right before you replied. I also don't get enough sleep. No matter what time I go to bed, I am up between 5 am and 6 am, sometimes before 5!

Hopefully my body is just adjusting and next week will be better.

Good evening, morning, or whatever it is!

Philly: We are all impatient. I just try to focus on sticking to my plan and the weight WILL come off, in it's own time. If it makes you feel any better, the 55lbs I lost the first time I lost with no exercise. I was afraid it would overwhelm me to start 'dieting and exercising' AGAIN. I'm not recommending this as we all know how important it is to move, but with the proper diet plan I found that it can happen with limited movement. Just do what you can, when you can.

Cathy: I don't own any of her videos. Our cable package comes with a feature called 'On Demand' where they have a library of different workouts and hers was one of them. It was called 'In Home Walking'. They had 4 others of her's as well I'll have to try.

Sassy: Where are you? If you lie low for too long, something is usually wrong. What's up?

We had dinner tonight out with friends. Let me just say this has not been a banner week for weight loss! This was a new 'Tapas' restaurant. If you aren't familiar: Stay Away!! It translates as 'small dishes'. In other words you sample small portions of several things. Among the evilness tonight was... endive w/goat cheese, seared scallops, ahi tuna w/hoisen sauce, beef kabobs w/cilantro lime sauce, asian short ribs w/sticky rice, and duck (yes, I said duck) pizza w/goat cheese! Followed by: espresso creme brule, raspberry cheesecake, and chocolate pate!

The shame of it all!

I'm going to go sleep it off...Chat with y'all tomorrow.

Good Morning Ladies,

Finally some time to post

Philly I understand about the arthritis and how it can just get in the way of life. I have it in my knees, fingers and spine. Some days are great, some days are not. Did you know that just sitting in a chair raising your legs up and down counts as exercise.. yes almost like fidgeting. Also, swimming is good for people like us...if you can get to a pool. My doctor said NO aerobics or anything with impact. I love riding a bike but hate the way it hurts my butt LOL.

Hope that place sounds interesting. I don't think we have any like that here...good thing by what you've said LOL. Hang in there, today's a new day.

Cathy feel better love. Everyone up here is suffering with some sort of cold, pneumonia, sinus infections etc...just take care of yourself. We had one guy at work out for 2 days b/c he wasn't feeling well. The third day he was going to work and his intentions were to see our medical dept to have them check him out. He made it to the gates, passed out, busted his jaw in I don't know how many places. When they took him to the hospital it turned out he had walking pnuemonia...poor thing. My point is...be careful. We love you to much

Oppps.... let me finish my post in a minute...brb

Hi! Philly! Looking forward to getting to know you

Cathy, get better soon!
Hope - I used to love Tapas places - danger food is right, though it still makes me !!
Sassy... don't make me come lookin' for ya - !
Leenie - I had raspberry cheecake, but they made it up a little differently, and it was more like mousse on banana leaves - sounds weird, but was yummy all the same! Most Thai places do deep fried ice cream, battered-fried bananas (!) and anything with mangoes! I avoided that stuff!
Amarie - how you doing today?

Who am I missing?? Cherry! Where are you hiding? Come back and post, we miss you!

Okay folks - busy day today: first rehearsal scheduled from 1:30-10pm Means I have to get back in the healthy habit of having all my food measured, weighed and planned! Chat to all you lovelies tomorrow!!

Heather
