Depression and Weight IssuesHave you been diagnosed with depression, are possibly on depression medication, and find it affects your weight loss efforts? Post here for support!
Hi... I'm having a tough day, but soon it's bedtime and we can start all over tomorrow. Feeling really nauseaus today so my eating hasn't been very good because I can only eat really bland, salty things. Yipes. DH is going to go to the store and see if he can tempt me with some fresh produce or fruit.
Only one more day after today (Tues.) its Halloween .
My back feels better, still kinda achy, but just think that its the weather changing, it got down to freezing lastnight and its pretty close now! 37 (F)! My night/morning at work (so far) has been pretty good, pretty steady so it has went fast, so far anyways. lol. I was in a terrible mood though before work today. Just one of those days where did not want to get up and get moving. lol. But once I did I was okay. lol. I just was really really mad and I think it was at myself, I of course "blamed" it on everything else but that, but I now know it was me I was "mad" at.
For what? Because I have not been successful at weightloss and I gave up trying. I admit it. But no more! My DH also finally picked up my anti-depressants too, so that probably will help me as well!
My DH came and brought me some hard candies I've been wanting. Just a few, not a lot. I had a thought. (I know scary, right?) I think I'm going to begin making my own low-fat/low cal healthy meals on my nights off and freezing them. I was gonna start buying those healthy frozen meals, but thought I could do a much better job.
Can I ask you all a few questions concerning food, if you don't mind? I probably have asked before, so forgive my absentmindness.
What are you favorite quick n' healthy meals to make?
Snacks? Desserts (Low Cal/Low Fat/Low Sugar)
Also a good friend of mine made some home-made Spanish Rice for my DH, Spanish Rice is my absolute favorite. But how can I make it healthier? Brown Rice? Any tips, recipes, etc, would be greatly appreciated!!!!
Thanks Ladies, yes once again dear Sassy is gonna try to do better. (I'm not giving up!!!!)
I had another thought too. (I know amazing!!! Two Thoughts in a ROW!)
I am going to try my hand at really giving it my 110%, yes once again at losing weight and see how it goes. My goal is to lose 50 lbs by Spring! I don't think that is too high of a goal, or do you think its too low??? I would love to lose more than that of course!!! lol.
I want to do better and succeed this time. I refuse to give up. I know I could and should be a "skinny minnie" by now, but the main thing is I do not give up and keep getting up when I "fall" and by coming here and getting your all's support, I can't give up, its impossible! Plus I think you all would be at my door if I did! LOL!!! ( ya all)
Anywho there it is, my "plan". Maybe that is why I have failed before, I didn't have a specific enough plan? I dunno. Anyways. I want to succeed this time. I honestly and truly do! So please pray, cross your fingers, toes and eyes for me that this time I succeed!!!!
Hello Chickies! I hope that everyone is having a good-to-yourself day! Leenie: Hi! Thanks for always being a great starter and moderator. Miette: I'm so sorry your not feeling well. IMO when your sick it's best to eat whatever makes you feel safe, nourished, and better in general. Don't be too concerned about staying OP. I hope you! HeatherAngel: I'm glad you're coming back to chat. Just try to be good to yourself, today, okay? Do something that makes you smile, even if just briefly. SassyChick: I'm glad your back is feeling better--I can empathize. Your new plan sounds great to me! Congrats, on recognizing why previous plans have failed (the plans have failed, NOT you!) and for being committed to starting fresh. We're here for whenever you need us! Oh, and I don't know if you do or not, but if you ever binge eat, you might want to check the Chicks in Control forum, they have some great resources and threads there that can help you with that. I'm sending you some...

Sorry I haven't been around much. Been feeling myself sinking, not to sure what the problem is. I've pulled out my light, so hoping that that will help some. We can't wait for the time change as it is so dark in the mornings. But no snow yet, so yippee!!
My mom called me this morning to ask if I wanted to come and work with her. So starting Thursday night I get to work two nights a week at A and W. I've helped her out before and its not to bad as its mostly prep and cleaning. I'll enjoy spending the time with my mom if nothing else. Plus with her working the two graveyard shifts she'll be earning more and that's always a good thing.
Well I should go a fold some laundry, hope everyone has a great week!
TY for all the support and the info, Morning Glory!
Hi Buddly and BIG hon. Its getting that time of year for S.A.D., if you get that. I hope you feel better. Hope you enjoy spending time w/ your mom, even if it is working.
Everyone must be very busy, its rather quiet in here or its just the weather and everyone is settling in for winter! Hope everybody is doing well.
Well I did my first graveyard shift last night. I'm not sure how I'll be come Sunday morning. (I have three shifts this week, but only two a week after that) My mom is letting them know that this is only temporary as she likes her days and I'm not to keen on this night time thing. I had just gotten so I was sleeping at night. Anyway it wasn't so bad and thankfully not busy with customers so we were able to get a lot of cleaning and prep done.
I got to sleep at 8:30am and when I got up just before 1pm the world had turned white! Yep, blowing snow piled all over the place and at 7:30am when we walked to the bus it was just starting to get windy with only a few clouds! Gotta love this time of year, it sure keeps you on your toes I was contemplaiting picking the girls up from school as they are having problems on the bus, but with what I'm hearing on the scanner (tow trucks are busy)I don't really think I should.
I work nights and I know it can be an adjustment. But I love nights, always have. I just think some people are meant to be what us night-time people call "day-walkers" and then there are us "vampires", what we're usually called. lol.
Snow! We just so we are having fall temps here......Big

Sassy I think its great your going to start cooking for yourself, it makes it so much easier to come home to something already made than having to scrounge the cabinets. What I do on Sunday's is usually cook (enuf for the week) two types of meats, like chicken, a roast and then some times a side dish, rice, noodles and keep it in the frig. If I don't cook two meats then I'll make a noodle dish like Ziti and then one meat. I can cook a veggie when I get home that night (or if its something like acorn squash, I'll cook that on a Sunday as well). You can also make meats like chicken and have salads at night. Hope this helps. I usually don't freeze to much but if you do make a huge batch of chili or something like that then yeah...freeze it.
Buddly good luck with the new shift. I agree, its way to quiet in here.
Morning Joy thats a great list of foods and snacks. Watcha up to this weekend.
We just got back from Karate, I'm feeding the rug rat and then getting her in the shower and off to a daddy / daughter dance....which means I'll have some free time to myself YAHOOOOO.
