Okay - time to kick it up a notch...

My December exercise goal is to increase to FIVE days a week, one of which will be Pilates. I read somewhere recently that adding one day of something like yoga or Pilates to your routine can go a long way towards toning and flexibility, so I'm going to give it a try!

  • Quote: I'm not exactly sure what you all did listing the individual days of the month. But I definitely need somewhere to check into every day to be held accountable for exercise.
That's precisely what the listing of dates is for. Each day, you come back to your "accountability post" with all the dates on it, and you edit the post to include the type/amount of exercise you did on that particular date. Take a look at the November Challenge - my accountability post for November is on the very first page of the thread, and I've been updating it religiously.

I am tickled that you're going to go to the gym! That's so great... and I think that once you try it and start successfully reaching exercise goals there, you'll really love it. I figured out that I used to hate the gym so much because I was setting unattainable goals for myself - like trying to do an hour of cardio on the very first day! - and it was really getting me down, I felt like a failure. This time around, though, I started small - only 8 minutes of cardio on the elliptical - and as I met those goals, I increased them.

Yay!!!! You GO girl... I'm right behind you all the way!

  • I am glad to see everyone here!! December here we come!!! I think I am going to count my miles walked at work too. In a 5 hour shift I generally do 1.25 miles(although not vigorous exercise I want to make sure I am moving the whole time!) So I will go for 1.5 miles in a 5 hour shift and 2.25 in an 8 hour shift. I will go for 40 miles walked at work this month (I may come up a little short because we close for a week at the end of the month, I work but it is general maintenece and I usually sit and scrub and scrub and scrub!!) I will not count the miles at work into the minutes done though.
  • I think that still counts jacatron! Okay well I am not good about checking in every day since I am usually out WALKING! I also spend alot of time in the hot and healthy gals club. Everyone is welcome to join us if you haven't already! Anyhow I am presently at 2280 for November! I was averaging 90 minutes a day til the 20th but got frustrated when I was not seeing much validation on the scale! So I slacked off a bit and am now back to 80 a day average. *sigh* but that is still an improvement from last month when i had a 67 minute average! Anyhow no matter what i will get to 1800 for december, that is the plan, if not, more! On another note I did notice a difference in my waist though since walking so much, so maybe I was losing inches! I have since measured myself. Need to go for a walk. Good luck everyone!!
  • Hey guys! Jeni, I'm so glad you started this up so early! Good to see some familiar faces! I think I will up my goal for next month (even though I haven't achieved THIS month's goal!!) and I will work towards, hmmmm, 1500 minutes!!! I can and WILL do it!! Starting Saturday, though, because I will need Friday to finish off this month's challenge! Jasmine, I adore your Avatar! So true, so true.
  • I'm aiming for 930 minutes (average of 30 minutes a day.) I'll return to my gym after a 3-4 month break where I love weightlifting and don't mind some of the cardio. Or I might walk along the ocean. Or both!

Taking it slow because I had a flare up of plantar fasciitis and I'd rather not re-injure myself.

Yeah it's time to kick it up a notch, my weightloss has slowed dramatically and I most definitely can not eat any less then I'm eating now - so it doesn't take a rocket science to figure it out - time to hit the gym.
Hey sweetie I don't know how many cals you are averaging but be wary of going to low! If you go to low your body may hold onto fat. While you are still in the 200 range you can still eat more and lose, add exercise and it will be a win win situation. I am losing about 2 pounds a week on 1700 - 1800 cal average and 60-80 minutes daily brisk walking. Good luck!

*waves* Well I liked it cause it had a man and woman and two hearts. It is a bit funny where his "heart" is. But in reality when a man is in love with you and not just chasing something his heart is in the same place as ours.
You are in anaheim? Cool! I am in so cal as well!!

    Jeni:

I don't remember what t was you said the other day but I was thinking about you on the bus and us competing, then I came back and read a comment about something about me and walking and all that and I was like, oh it's ON GIRL!!!! hahahahahah I really want to get my average back up again. I was a bit sad it dropped off to 80 when I was at 90 for 20 days! I can't guarantee anything beyond the 1800 minutes but I was thinking if we tease and egg each other on and compete, we will probably spur each other to get alot of walking done in December!!! Whooohoooo!!! Anyone else down for taking Jeni and I on?
  • Oh yeah Jasmine!! Bring it Baby!! I'd like to get up to 1800 minutes in this month, but life happens and 1500 is more realistic for me. I am going to try to keep up though!!!
