Hey chickies! Just popping in quickly to take a 5 minute break, and get away from the laundry...lol

All upstairs is done. Spotless. Could eat off the carpets, if the cats haven't already started shedding in that spot ;)

1000 sq feet done- and man, where do we get all this laundry from? We're 2 people...not a family of 5 or 6....who smuggles all this extra stuff in? Or is hubby changing clothes 3 times a day during the week? We literally have what seems like 3 weeks worth of laundry here, and I've been on top of it.

Right now, the only thing left to do is laundry, the kitchen, the downstairs bathroom off his office, his office (that's for HIM to do- if you let me in there, ALL the crap goes!) and the living/dining area. Hubby is working all day tomorrow- he has appointments set from 10am until 3:30 pm, so I should see himn around 5, and if everything in the house is spotless except for his office, I can probably guilt him into cleaning that with my "assistance" and then being able to spend Sunday lounging around, taking a loooong bubble bath, and maybe buying some cross stitch stuff, or other "occupy the hands" stuff to bring to work for those never-ending lunch hours with my freakshow shadow. Or, I could do it in the park, soaking up the fresh air. Regardless, I worked my patootie off today.

Dinner, since I have commandeered the kitchen/laundry area right now, is pizza. I am having the 2 smallest slices, and using paper towels to mop up as much of the grease as possible. And that's it. Crystal light. I will also be under close watch, as I know that pizza triggered the binge-like behavior at my mother's house with the jellybeans and pretzels. If it goes haywire here, the worst I can so is smart start, or sugar-free chocolate stuff, or sugar free hard candy, which when "overdone" gives you a raging case of the runs. Sorry, just had to warn you all! ;)

So that's the plan. Breakfast was meager, lunch was a taco rollup at 2, and dinner will be around 8:30 or whenever hubby gets back with that & cat food. I'm going to break for dinner, and then keep on trucking....and take a nice shower before bed, so I don't skank up the freshly laundered sheets.

I'll try to check in before bed....

OH!!! .8 pounds from that elusive goal.....think I can work off .8 pounds with aerobic housework??? If I get there tomorrow, watch for the huge happy dance post! LOL

Evening Chicks! It has been a whole week since I last posted. You won't believe the week it was. Last time, I mentioned my cat was in labor. Well, off and on for 24 hrs. Poor girl. She started hard labor about 8pm Sat. But couldn't get the babies out. They were all breech. So we had to go to the animal ER. Luckily they were able to help her and avoid a c-section. But something must have been wrong with the pregnancy. One died in utero and was partially resorbed by mom. BIG YUK! She had 2 boys and 1 girl survive the birth. The 2 boys didn't nurse. I don't know why. They may have had an illness or something to cause it. One died on Tuesday, the other last night. In the meantime I was feeding them with a syringe every 2 hrs. Getting up every 2 hrs, coming home from work to feed them. I am so lucky my boss is understanding. The little girl is doing fine, gaining weight like a pig. She is my little pudge. She is nursing, always has been. But I supplement her too, not as much, but just in case. But the nursing must be the deciding factor in her survival. Either she doesn't have the problem the boys did, or she got immunity from mom's milk to fight whatever made the boys sick. After all of this work, I'm not sure I'm going to be able to give her up! At least with her nursing, I only have to feed her every 3-4 hrs.

Obviously I have been busy. I actually forgot to eat a couple of meals earlier this week. But I haven't been walking like I should. Wed was my weigh in day. I lost 2 more lbs. Then I got migraines Wed night and yesterday, my TOM. All I ate yesterday was toast. And that didn't stay down. Today I had toast for breakfast, cheese ravioli with tomato sauce and a breadstick for lunch. For supper I had a salad and some french bread. I think I am going to have a bowl of my SF mint choc chip ice cream and go to bed.

I do have to "work" tomorrow. I have a career fair to go to at the local community college to try to recruit staff. It's worth a try. I desperately need staff. It's only 830-2, so at least I have the better part of the afternoon and evening. My house desperately needs to be cleaned. What a fun-filled Saturday night!

Well, I should go take it easy and go to bed.

start 155.5
current 147
goal 140

lisa girl 04-24-2004 08:35 AM

Hi chickies! It's finally Saturday!

Joy - Congratulations on the 2 pounds! WTG!! Sorry you had to go through all that with the kitties :(. I know that must have been really hectic for you.

Julie & Jennifer & Lucy - Hope you have a fantastic weekend!!

Last night I did an UB workout and rode the bike for 40 minutes. The exercise feels great. I do not want to miss a day now. It has finally become a habit. This was one of my biggest goals in the challenge, and if I don't make it "weight wise", then I at least have my exercise going. I feel good about that.

It is gloriously beautiful here in GA!! Sunny and hot!! OOOOOH we all want the summer break to get here fast!!

Well, gotta run, because I am hungry. Have a good one!!

hikein2005 04-24-2004 09:55 AM

Sat AM check in

Morning chickies...
Today is going to be a busy day (what am I talking about...it's already 9:30 and the most I have gotten done today is a workout and eaten breakfast and sent Kaleigh outside with her Daddy!) But when I get done with this post, I am going out to work in the yard. It's going to get up to around 60 today (I'm still waiting for 70, but will take 60) so a beautiful day here in West. Mich.
This afternoon, we have a First Communion Party to attend...my nephew. Kaleigh is all excited to be able to spend more time with her cousins! She gets a little bored having to "entertain" Mom & Dad! ;) Not sure if my one sister is staying here or not. If she does, I am going to have to scramble to wash sheets on the spare bed because the cat has taken that over as his bed and, those of you with cats...I think that's everyone here, right???...knows what that means!!! Oh, and he lays ON the pillow! Yuck!

Workout this morning was 30 minutes on the bike and some UB toning with the theraband! I didn't exert myself, but just did a few of the exercises in areas I really need to work on! ;)

B-fast this morning--egg scramblers with some cheese, a piece of ww toast & butter & all fruit. I came pretty close to the 3/3/3 block with that meal! Yea!
Lunch-- will be at my sisters. I just called her to see what she has on her menu and we are good. She's got 2 pots of soup (She makes this awesome tortilla soup, which doesn't have tortillas in it, but is like a bean & tomato base with lots of veggies...yummy!) 2 kinds of salad (the raspberry vinagrette with pecan one that I love!) and some sandwiches and probably a boat load of desserts which I didn't even ask her about! That girl knows how to put on a party  !!!! It's a good thing...she's in the restaraunt business!
Dinner--I think I have hubby talked into taking me out for our anniversary and leaving Kaleigh at my sisters to play with her cousins for a few hours while we have some "alone" time! I think I want to go to Red Lobster :D ...but if he doesn't want to go there, we will probably do a steak house or something where I can get a good chicken salad! ;)

Joy...Great job on the 2 lbs. Even with all that is going on in your life (poor mama cat!) you are doing well. Hope to hear from you more often, but check in when you can! Good luck on finding staff today! :^:

Jennifer...I need to find your level of endurance with the house cleaning! I vacuumed most of the house yesterday and mopped (hands & knees kind) all the floors that could be mopped (kitchen, bath, foyer)...not very thoroughly in the foyer, but hey...it never stays clean with that area being the dogs home! And they are shedding like crazy right now! I cleaned up my kitchen and scrubbed the sinks and cleaned the toilet in the bathroom, but never really got done what I wanted to do! Oh well...housework will always be here and I can do it tomorrow and Monday! Blech! But glad you are using housework as your aerobic workout. Hope you have your MP3 player hooked right to your sports bra ;) and are dancing through the house!!! I can see it now!!! ;)

Lisa...glad you are still with us, chickie! And congrats on the exercise routine! That is awesome! And I am jealous that you are doing 40 minutes on the bike. 30 is enough for me, thank you! Maybe I need to up it, but it seems like that's all I can squeeze in...I noticed some changes in my shoulders and when I was riding today, I noticed my legs in the mirror that sits next to the bike. They aren't quite so "cellulitish" and seem to have more tone!

Hubby said today...again...that my butt is getting smaller! YEA! That truly is the biggest part of me! ;) I am not losing much in my "chest" though. Must be the toning I am doing for the pecs that contribute to that! But also, My back is thinning and I am seeing more definition in the scapular area! I was thinking today that although this seems to be taking forever, I know that if I continue to stick with it, I will reach my goal by next year! So, I will continue and take however long I need to get there. I am human and there are times when, like all of us, I just don't have the right frame of mind! But for now, this week...I do!

That's all my rambling thoughts for the day! Have a great weekend everyone and stay focused!!!

Big Hugs!

lisa girl 04-24-2004 10:17 AM

Julie, I know what you mean about the changes you see in your body. My legs are a bit different, and my arms are finally starting to firm a bit. I am going to start some chair squats to help me with the bottom half. I am researching low-impact toning exercises.

lameducklucy 04-24-2004 11:52 AM

Good morning!!!

Dolphin -- aww that sucks about the kittens. I've been there before -- my old cat, fang, had something like 10 of them and they were all wrapped up in the umbilical cord and half of 'em died and the one that was tangled that DID live had no tail and half of her back left leg from it being tied up = there were about 4 that lived, total. *hug* I'm sorry. That's a hard thing to deal with, but those kittens are so lucky to have somebody who loves & takes care of them like you!!!

Lisa - Yay for the workout!!! :D You're doing an awesome job!

I'm off to the beach, today, as planned!! :D No formal workout is on my schedule for today, but if you know me and the beach, well... I won't need one. :D I'm one of those chicks who runs out on the rocks and in the tidepools and climbs the trees & stuff. I'll be fine today. :D Hubby will probably end up getting a bag of beef jerky to munch on, so no biggie there. I don't know if we're packing a lunch or eating out, yet, but if we do, I'm not even gonna worry about it because breakfast today = grape nuts w/ milk and an apple, so that's healthy & whatnot. And dinner will probably be really light, so I'm not worried at all.

It's supposed to get up to 75 today, somewhere in the low-80's tomorrow. YAY!! Finally!! :D

Anyway, man am I up early -- 8:30?! Sheesh. Off I go to play on the beach!!

**Jennifer** 04-26-2004 11:42 AM

Yaaaay! We're back up & running! :)

I'll be back after lunch! :D

lameducklucy 04-26-2004 12:43 PM

Hey all!! Weekend here was decent -- got in a good 3 mile walk yesterday. :D

I tried to weigh-in this morning, but that stupid TOM thing is happening from the depo - it stops & starts, so I'm all messed up in that respect and could be as much as 10 lbs over, so I don't wanna risk it. Hehe. :D

ANyhoo, busy busy day today, so I gotta get hoppin!!

magnoliamouth 04-26-2004 03:56 PM

Hey chicks, I'm back, how has everybody been? I was pretty good and I lost a 1.5 pounds while I was gone, It was easy to drink the water, but harder to get a chance to walk. I walked about 3 days and two were on the beach and that was a workout!

One thing I did that I think helped a lot, when ever we ate out, I immediately got a to-go box and put half of everything on my plate, plus what I ordered I tried to be as low-cal and fat conscience as possible.

Hey great idea! I have heard of people doing that, Maggi but I have never done it myself. Usually hubby and I split an entree, so when we go out together, it's ok (except our anniversary...I was bad...you will have to read my journal from the 24th and see ;) ) But when I go out with friends, I will do this! Great idea! Glad to have you back with us and glad your vacation was agood one! Hugs!

hikein2005 04-26-2004 05:42 PM

So GReat to be back here!!!

I missed all you chickies over the weekend, but it gave me time to stop and plan my week and think about what I need to do to get on track....AGAIN! So here's what I came up with...

Self Challenge #2 (the last one was last month, remember?)
It's simple...
Workout (aerobic--either 30 minutes bike or 30 minutes Leslie Sansone's WATP tape) every morning before I leave for work or if I am home, first thing!
Toning 3 days a week...today with my workout, Tuesday and Thursday right after work.
Food: No sugar! I know I can do this for the next 6 days because I did it before. I will allow myself the flavored creamer in my coffee, but that's it! I also am going to stick with my food plan (which I still need to get written) for the week, and stay within my #'s

I have no specail events this week, so that should keep me on track. So anyone want to join me?

My meal plans for the week are done through Saturday Morning. We are camping this weekend and will shop for groceries on Friday night. I have bagged lots of individual servings of stuff and put them in the freezer for this week and may take some stuff with us camping (strawberries, deli turkey & ham, LOWFAT cheese!) I am planning to get into that 160 something # this week if it's the last thing I do!

Today, food eaten so far (leftover day!):
b-a leftover very small croissant chicken salad with a couple ounces of deli turkey & ham.
l-leftover steak sliced into very thin pieces (3 oz.), sauteed in olive oil with garlic & onions, added some left over broccolli & small (1/4 cup) serving of pasta. It was yummy! And filling!
Snack-Made a waldorf salad (apples, celery, low fat Miracle Whip, pecans)and had it with 1 oz. cheese
Supper tonight: Taco meat all made up and will have Taco salad with a few corn chips, sour cream (lite) lots of lettuce.

I need to go and get the little munchkin her supper...she wants a snack right now and it's almost supper time!

I'll check back in later tonight! Glad to have you all back!

Dolphin 04-26-2004 08:35 PM

YAY! We are finally back. Man, that was a long 3 days. My weekend wasn't so good. I had one of those "couch potato" moments, well, it was longer than a moment. Time to get back in the program. I can tell that I'm holding water from all the junk I ate. Shame on me!

Today was much better though. Peaches for breakfast, a salad and sandwich for lunch, and salmon and veggies for supper. I had a snack of toast and yogurt too. I didn't eat all of my dinner, I may finish it off as a snack watching "The Swan". Whooppee, what a fun-filled evening I have planned! Actually, I was going to mow the yard, but the mower needs to charge up (it a cordless electric). Then I was going to take a walk, but it is so windy out, it just about tore the door off of the side of my house. So, I vacuumed the stairs instead. That is no small chore in my house with all of the animal hair! I am pretty tired tonight, so I may just go to bed early, and hopefully get up a little earlier.

Lucy - I would love to spend a day at the beach! 75-80 sounds wonderful! You are so lucky.

Maggie - congrats on the 1.5lbs. Wonderful. I love your To Go box idea. I may have to try that.

Hikein2005 - Sounds like you have a good plan. I need to "revamp" my plan. The last week really threw me off.

Tomorrow I'm planning a busy day at work. Hoping to get in 3 home visits with clients. That should take about 4 hrs of my time, plus paperwork. I decided to take Wednesday off of work this week. It's my day all to myself. I am going tanning in the am, and then working in the yard all day. My yard is a mess! And it's supposed to be sunny and close to 80. Then I have a doctors appt late afternoon to get something for these darn migraines I get with my TOM.

Have a good evening!

hikein2005 04-27-2004 07:27 AM

I keep losing posts!

What the heck is going on here? I posted yesterday and it hasn't shown up! What's up with that??

The just of it was that I did great with food yesterday, but didn't get in any formal exercise. Just lots of housework, food prep, laundry, etc., and some outside stuff with DD! I'm still a little sore from weeding landscaping areas on Saturday and I didn't even really do that much! Owee! It is great to be back here. Imissed all of you!

Today I have already done my 30 minute bike workout, but I didn't really feel like doing it this morning, so it was slow! Only a little more than 6 miles! :(

Food is all ready to go for lunch and I have to throw some meat in the crock pot for tonight! Will fix some veggies with it! I was going to make some applesauce beef stew, but we'll see how it comes out!!! Hmmm!

Hope you chickies have a great day...It's SN**ING here this morning...and I do mean the big white fluffy stuff! ARGH!!!! When will it ever be spring??? We are supposed to go camping this weekend with highs in the upper 50's...there will be lots of cuddle time and campfire time!!! ;)

Hugs!

lameducklucy 04-27-2004 01:00 PM

I have a cold. I don't feel good, but I'll keep goin', anyway. :D Lost 2 more lbs. Woohoo!

Went to the chiro yesterday -- one of my ribs was out of socket. NO WONDER it hurt so bad!!! He did some traction with me and it's back in, now, but my back was really sore yesterday. Lots of painkillers today. :D

Anyway, yeah. Felt like crap last night, as did the hubby (who the dog knocked over backwards & upside down, fell 4 feet onto sharp pointy muddy rocks and into a pond, yet didn't let go of the dog's leash... he's sore), so we both lounged all night and passed out early.

So today my back is still sore, but I'm down 2 lbs for some odd reason? *Shrug* Silly TOM thing. I'm gonna take it easy today on the workout, but sitll do it.

Workout:
20 min bike, 20 min stepper, 600 situps
lunges & squats
5 min hand weights w/ the 1 lb weights (my mid-back HURTS, but because the muscles were supporting the rib instead of my back, so they're uber-toned in the WRONG spots, and undertoned in the IMPORTANT spots. I have to work my way back up to get them strong again... ugh!)

Food today:
B - 2 slices toast
L - I can't remember what I wrote down. It was nutritious, tho.
D - 1 hamburger w/ cheese and probably 3 bites of the bun, and some carrot sticks instead of fries (aren't you proud?!)

ANyway today I hope we get to go on a walk over to the pond or just around the block after 8:00. I want to go on one, darn it.

Okay I have a huge post written here but I am going to cut the majority of it, which you should still go read, in the main journal. That way I can cut it, and I don't wanna spam in here. :D

Hope you guys are having a rad day!!!!!!

**Jennifer** 04-27-2004 02:08 PM

Yes!!!! Yes!!!! Yes!!!!

:cp: :cp: :cp: :cp:

Happy Dance Time!!!!! Yes!!!!! I've banished the fluctuating pounds, and hit my first milestone & goal! Party Time, ladies! Time to celebrate!

:encore: :encore: :encore:

And I promised that once I hit it, I would share what hubby got me as my handsome reward- well, here's the link to it:

My Handsome Reward

My hubby- he's so good to me- and he knows how hard I have worked to get here, and how much further I still have to go...This is the gift of motivation, of long walk without boredom, of many hours and miles on the bike with the head bobbing... all the things that I will need to keep reaching the next goals I have laid out. And believe me, if a day goes by that I don't use it, hubby will glare at me & guilt me into it! LOL And even with the smallest one, 3700 songs is a LOT of music- I can sweat to a different playlist every time & not listen to the same thing twice! :workout:

Last night, I did 10 miles on the bike in 33 mins, 48 seconds. And then did an hour of resistance band work while watching CSI Miami. I conked out at 11pm, and didn't wake up until 7 today. All the work this weekend finally caught up with me....zzzzz- I sure needed that!

Hubby made meatballs (carefully measured with 1/2 cup meat per meatball) and meat sauce this weekend, so last night we boiled up the pasta & prepped more baggies for lunches. I've got 2 meatballs & 3/4 cup of pasta w/ sauce for lunch today- yum! Add a teeny bit of parmesan & yum!

Breakfast-
1 strawberry cottage double
1/2 cup diced pears in juice, drained

Lunch-
2 meatballs
3/4 cup bowtie pasta
1/3 cup sauce
1 tsp parmesan cheese
1/2 cup diced pears in juice, drained

Dinner-
chicken breast with a 1 tbsp bbq sauce
2 cups green beans

So yippie!!!! 36 pounds down, first milestone goal met...and I'm jazzed...wondering if I can hit my next target # by my birthday- that would be 17 pounds by mid-June, or 8 weeks. that's about 2 pounds a week over the next 8 weeks...and very doable. And then, no matter what, I am having a nice dinner out on my birthday, celebrating with hubby, even if that puts 1 pound back on. 5 days a year I get to be bad- our birthdays, anniversary, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. And I'm making the most of them! ;) :smug:

All right, ladies- have a wonderful Tuesday- 3 days left in this challenge- then our Memorial Day Challenge starts. Start thinking about what you've accomplished this month, what's been working, what needs some extra emphasis, and what you might want to push for during the next 30 days.

Time to go skip through the building like a schoolgirl. Well, in my head, anyway ;) Don't want to scare the loan officers ;)
