Guys - I am here!! Just totally crazy at my house!! I'll try to post more tonight. I am thinking about all of you and pulling for you!!!

lameducklucy 04-21-2004 09:14 PM

Ugh. Okay. Today = total waste in pretty much every possible way.

No more atkins. Let's leave it at that. I'm done with that weird stuff. Blah.

I am possibly going to get a part-time job somewhere around here during the middle of the day, so I could perhaps work from 9 to 2 or something, then come home & do my tpaes, then go back & get the hubby. I am just really getting sick of being all alone all the time, even though I get mad when I have to deal with people. I am going to try to find a place around here to do something like retail or whatever like that, and see if I can pull it off. Hey, maybe I'd be able to work somewhere right down here in the walking-distance shopping center areas? *Shrug* Just a thought.

Anyway tomorrow I'm just going to be good and not eat a ton and do my workout extra hard and just etc etc etc. Ugh.

I'm off to finish my horrible 30-min tape and then make myself some chicken w/ something else. :)

Thursday....

Good morning, chickies. We've got 1 week left in the month...1 week left to the challenge. I've got to suck it up, and get back on track with the exercise.

I talked to hubby when I got home yesterday, and told him about what's going on here at the office, and explained my reason for needing a mental health day. Well, he now sees the light, and agrees that I do need the break, especially before my processor's last day. It'll be a while before I can take a day off. So, I've got my list of stuff I want to get accomplished in the house on Friday, and I even started working on stuff last night.

I was so tired last night, but when I tried to lay down & sleep, it wasn't happening, so I got up & cleaned the guest room & my desk area & all the magazines I was working with. So...that room is now done- just needs to be vacuumed, I sorted laundry, and got things ready...tonight, I'll be watching Friends- finally- a new fricking episode, and working in our room- I have to go through my drawers & get rid of some stuff that is super-big now, and freshen up stuff that's been sitting there & not worn for years.

I have good news to share...I bought a pair of jeans, on clearance, and figured it would take some time to get into them...well, I tried them on, and they fit- they are tight in the belly area, but I can get them up & zipped, and still breathe! ;) I haven't worn jeans in over 10 years- hubby has never seen me in a pair. He thinks that I could get away with wearing them now, with a longer shirt so that the "gut bulge" isn't apparent. I think I'll wait another 10 pounds before I try it again.

I emailed my boss & I'm waiting for my approval to take tomorrow off...it will be so nice to not have to come in to work. I'll definitely do the WATP in the morning tomorrow, and have a Zone bar for breakfast, and then work straight through until what would typically be lunch. Take a break, make a big lunch, and then keep working until about 4. Then, a little "me" time...and a jump start on Saturday's list. I am going to get all the things that I can control, under control. And then, I am going to take a deep breath, clear my head, and focus on the "me" things like school, and exercise.

As far as that goes, I may have to schedule 2 "rest" afternoons for exercise, and designate those as my school nights and just come home, nuke a baggied, frozen dinner, and spend at least 3 hours trying to get this stuff done. I need to finish the 2 classes that I am in by the end of May- that's a total of 14 assignments I need to finish by then. And then, I'll take 1 class at a time to finish up my certificate, and just bang it out. I am setting a goal to be done by September 1, so that I am finished in under 2 years. Get the certificate, and then start doing that on the side, or look at changing jobs, if there's a good opportunity out there.

Today's plan:

Breakfast-
1/3 cup smart start
1 apple & cinnamon cottage double

Lunch-
3/4 cup elbow macaroni
1/2 cup chili
1 oz fat free cheddar

Dinner-
TBD- no idea yet...

"Aerobic cleaning & vacuuming" before Friends...and I'll play with the resistance bands while watching TV- I finished my cheat sheet for that, so I'll be testing it out tonight.

I'll check in later on, chickies. Have a wonderful Thursday

lameducklucy 04-22-2004 11:33 AM

Julie - Umm... I felt like I was punishing myself, basically. I don't need to punish myself to lose weight, and I essentially just refuse to make myself feel bad and eat stuff I don't really like that much just to lose weight. That's definitely not the way I should do it, if it feels that wrong. :D I'm just going to add some more workout and a little less food, and it should be better.

Jennifer - I hope you get that day off tomorrow!!! And WTG with the jeans, hon!!! :D That's awesome news!!! You are doing such a good job. :D

I'm up awful early today. I got up at 7:30 again. What the heck is with me?! Food today is easy and different, and workout today is uber intense.

Food :
B - bwol of grape nuts w/ ff milk, 1 cup coffee w/ ff creamer
S - piece of banana bread & crystal light
L - leftover chicken from dinner yesterday w/ some veggies
S - sugar free jello
D - large club salad with the works with a little lowfat, lowcal italian on top.

I should be overly stuffed all day. :D

Workout today:
20 min bike (i duct taped it back together into working condition)
20 min stepper cardio
5 min weights (upper body)
600 situps
15 lunges each side
20 squats
15 each side subwoofer things

I ought to be hurting tomorrow, and that's my goal.

I'm also up early, doing some intensive house cleaning, since I've been slacking with it for a few weeks. Already got the kitchen cleaned up, about to mop that. THen I'll hit the bathrooms & do a quick toilet cleaning, tidy up, sweep & mop. Then the entry - sweep & mop. Then the bedroom, tidy it up, make the bed. Then I basically get to just do a quick vaccuming and I'm all good to go. :D

Anyway I hope you guys are having an awesome day. Sunny and 75 here in Seattle!!

lameducklucy 04-22-2004 02:25 PM

Drenched in sweat already -- that crazy cleaning virus has hit me again!! My house is SPOTLESS. Even the kitchen sink is clean!!! :D

Legs of jello, here I come!!!!!

**Jennifer** 04-22-2004 04:54 PM

Wooooo Hoooooo!

I'm off tomorrow! YIPPIE!!!!!!!!!

Tonight, when I get home, I'm starting the whirlwind cleaning bit- the moreI get done tonight before Friends & the remaining "must-see TV" the less I'll have to do tomorrow, and more potential for "ME" time! Yes!!!!!!!!!

The downside- my quitting processor decided she's not sticking around until Wednesday- Monday will be her last day. So it's a good thing that I am taking tomorrow- I can get a bunch of stuff done, and have a few weeks of lower-stress in the household. Wonder if I can get hubby to make meat sauce, taco meat, and chili in the same day? LOLOL Spend the better part of a day bagging meals, if that was the case ;)

Ladies, have a wonderful night! :grouphug:

hikein2005 04-22-2004 07:02 PM

Finally...

a good day for me (food & exercise)! Yipee!

I planned my meals out last night and stuck with it all day. I decided that quitting chocolate must be a lot like smokers quitting cigarettes...one day at a time...one cigarette at a time...one piece of chocolate at a time! Today I only had 2 pieces (a green M&M...don't ask...and ONE...yes, only one Cadbury robin egg)!!! Yea for me!

I had a crappy day at work! Lots going on! Must be in the atmosphere or something! CNA's are saying I'm being bossy/*****y/offensive! Whatever! I told my boss AND a couple of the aides today that I wasn't there to make friends and I'm sorry that I may be a bit abrupt but patient care is my first priority (along with the bazillion other jobs I have) and it should be their's too! Hmph! So, I have 2 other nurse managers telling me how I should talk to the aides...basically kissing their butts, holding their hands, walking gingerly so as not to offend them! Bull S**T!!! Ya know, like I told them...they are there to do a job and they should be doing and if they can't take a little criticism, then they sould get the heck out and find another job! We all make choices in life! If they weren't so busy worrying about who can replace their schedule when they want a day off instead of taking care of the residents, they wouldn't be so darned senstive! Part of my job is to file into the charts...I have to sit at the desk to do this...I hear every alarm, every call light, every resident who needs toileting or just wants to yell because they are demented...and I still have to get my job done! It's hard to ignore all of it and many times I help by doing the things myself, but when I do ask/tell (whatever) them to catch a light or toilet someone, I'm a *****! Oh well! Let someone else sit at the desk and do my job!!!!! (that's me!)

OK...I'm done with my rant! Thanks for listening!

On a positive note...Kaleigh and I were watching our home video from the Easter Egg hunt which Dwayne videoed while my sister and I were running around the yard with the kids! There was a shot (of course) of my butt which Inoticed being smaller (YEA!) But the best part was the conversation between my Dad & my husband about my weight:

Dwayne: There's that nice butt, which is getting smaller!
Dad: I can tell she's losing weight. How much has she lost now? (This from a Dad who has been somewhat critical of my weight most of my adult life)
Dwayne: Not a lot, but it's coming off and she's working hard at it. That's what matters!

I was blown away! Yea for hubby! He IS being supportive! Not only to me, but to others ABOUT me! I am going to have to thank him tonight when he gets home! That made my day! :D

Food eaten today:
B-2 eggs, sausage, cheese omlette on 2 pieces ww low fat toast with butter spray.
L-Frozen (nuked) veggie chicken soup, cottage cheese & 1/2 cup fruit
S-1/2 cup fruit & 1 oz. cheese (on the way home)
D-Large lettuce salad, 3 oz. hamburger, cucumber, 2 T. ranch dressing and about 1/4 leftover DD's cheeseburg!
Water has been good! 56 oz. so far and I will probably drink another 16 oz. before the night is through!

Sorry my posts are so long! I have to get this posted and done so I can clean up the kitchen and go to Subway and get Kaleigh & my lunch for our field trip to the Zoo tomorrow! I decided to do that. We both like a treat once in a while! She must get tired of cold lunches every day! I also want to get the bathroom cleaned tonight...and watch Survivor at 8! So I need to go!

Jennifer, chickie...way to go on the jeans! I am sure that must feel just awesome to be able to wear some jeans after 10 years! I like to wear them, but not when they are tight! LOL! You are rallying, chickie! Me too! Let's kick this thing in the a**!!!! The weekend will be the true test! ;)

It's our anniversary on Saturday (11 years) so I need to super vigilant or I will have the same problem getting back on track again next week! Also, we have to go to a First Communion Party for my nephew on Saturday and my sister is a great cook! But she does cook low fat & with healthy stuff, so that is a benefit! The down side is, she LOVES to bake and she is great at it! I need to either eat before I go or just stay away from the food! Hmmm!
Or both!!!

Lucy....you know, if you ever want...I've got lots to clean here! Feel free to come on over and start right in. Just let yourself in!!! The two Siberian Huskies are shedding like crazy & the buds on the poplar tree are falling and creating a sticky mess! My house is trashed! But I have the next 4 days off, so I will take care of it then!!!

Hugs to all of you....Lisa....and everyone else....I miss you !!!!! Where are you?????

lameducklucy 04-22-2004 08:06 PM

Jennifer -- Wtg on the day off!!! :D Have tons of fun and hope you get a BUNCH of 'me' time in!! :)

Julie - Hon... I have 2 long-haired fluffy cats and a giant 100-lb yellow lab. :D My carpet is so hairy twenty minutes after I vacuum that you can hardly tell!!! I still haven't really tackled the office (here), though. ****, I haven't even decorated the place yet!! I need to get a giant piece of cardboard and some spraypaint to finish my desk & whatnot.

Also... a good *funny* link is subservientchicken.com

Have a great night, everybody!

lisa girl 04-22-2004 11:24 PM

Here it is 11:15 and I JUST got a minute to sit down at the computer. I have had a whirlwind past couple of days!! I had a big luncheon to attend today, and it lasted from about 11:30 until 3:00.

This is one of those days I wish I didn't have to report food-wise, because I did not do a good job. This luncheon had terrific food, and I just ate like the others around me. Not the best thing to do, but it was a special time for me, and I just enjoyed things. Guess the scale will get me for today, but I dont really give a $%#& at this precise moment.

I have been faithfully exercising, though. I am right back on track tomorrow with the whole thing. Lately, my family has been going through the roughest time!! My 6 year old has been crying and worrying alot, having tummy aches, etc... My parents are getting a divorce, and it is not a fun process I tell you. Oh how I ache when my children are hurting!! So...I am dragging about lately, just in survival mode myself most of the time. Not an excuse guys for slacking on the eating, just to let you know what's going on with me. I'll be o.k. !!! I promise!!!

I hope to be able to post more tomorrow. Jennifer, I hope you have a super day off!!! Lucy - I am jealous of your clean house!!! Julie - I hope you have a better day tomorrow!! I'll be thinking of you!

I love you guys!!!!!! Thanks so much for your support and friendship! :)

**Jennifer** 04-23-2004 08:19 AM

Morning!

Stopping by here just to say hi, and start the clock...turn on the tunes, and start the cleaning frenzy that I've laid out for today. I got a lot done last night, before & after Friends, and most of the PMS weight/bloat is gone, so I am .8 pounds from my "handsome reward" when the replacement gets here! :)

I'll check in at "lunch"

Have a wonderful Friday!

lameducklucy 04-23-2004 01:52 PM

*yawn* Good morning...

I woke up with a cold today. *whine* I even slept in!!! :D The good thing about me having a cold is that I don't get cravings at all, because everything tastes like cardboard, so I can just workout and eat whatever we cook because i don't care about it anyway!! I know, I'm a little odd. :D

I have 4 tapes to do. Don't feel much like doing them. *shrug*
I have a big workout ahead of me, too. Don't even want to do it, but I'll do it anyway.

It's all icky and rainy here today, and cold to boot. Only around 55 outside. :(

So tomorrow, of course, and for the next week or so, it's going to be anywhere between 70 and 85 and sunny. :D

Hubby and I decided that we're gonna go up to the beach by ourselves on Saturday (tomorrow woohooooo!!), and just get some happy time alone together without any of the stupid crap to deal with, etc., and just have a fun day at the beach. I am totally looking forward to it.

Today my food is bland and totally useless as far as I'm concerned, because I won't be able to eat a full meal and it'll all taste like crap, but that's okay. At least I won't want ice cream!!! :D

B - grape nuts w/ a little brown sugar and some ff milk
L - Nachos (Some baked chips, grated cheese, leftover taco meat, a tomato & some seasoned sour cream) (small plate for myself, and i'll probably share with the dog)
D - chicken pesto

Snacks will be sugarfree jello (it'll shut up the tummy AND provide hydration while I'm sick. SCORE!)

The hubby and I signed up for Netflix, that online DVD rental thing for $20/mo, which is way cheaper than the other way. Honestly, I'm really impressed. It's a good price and they have just about every movie ever made. Definitely a good decision. :D

Next Saturday is the town garage sale (yeah, weird), and then that night is the BBQ at hubby's work-friends' house, where ALL of his coworkers will be there and we're supposed to play poker. I am so nervous. There'll be 2 or 3 chicks, total. Ack!! Weird. The garage sale will be rad, however, because I am hoping to replace my duct-tape bike with some piece of equipment that ISN'T broken or held together with tape.

Since I live in this little yuppie town where hundreds of millionaire estates are located (all the bigwigs from Boeing, Microsoft [not the gates'], all the CEOs of internet startups), they basically GIVE their old stuff away -- like last years' fitness equipment that they used twice. They have awesome low prices and people come from all over the state, apparantely, to go to this one-day, city-wide garage sale. I am totally hoping to score some good loot at this. I've got $100 set aside for it already, and we should have some more.

Also, awesome news. My mom & dad are going to be closing on their house in the next 2-3 weeks, FINALLY, so I AM FINALLY FREE!!!! We are finally allowed to go and file bankruptcy so we can be rid of the crap that we've been TRYING to get rid of for over a year, now. *sighs* Tomorrow is a bit of a celebration towards the fact that we're almost through the hard part, and we'll be happy and free in a matter of months, and it's for sure. :D

Anyhoo, long post. Sorry!! :D I'm having an awesome day even tho I'm icky. I promise to keep up the 2-hr workout today, and start it again on Monday.

Oh. yeah. I woke up this morning, and I'm down 2 lbs. :D

hikein2005 04-23-2004 02:44 PM

Friday Afternoon

Afternoon all you wonderful chickies...
Kaleigh and I have been to the zoo and back (anyone else know that Raffi song..."Momma's takin us to the zoo tomorrow"???) We had a great day and Kaleigh rode the school bus for the first time! Wouldn't you know, I forgot my camera? I did remember to pack a lunch, water and take an extra set of clothes for Kaleigh, though! I'm the one who needed the extra clothes...I dumped coffee :coffee: all down the front of me before we even got on the school bus! Oh well! No one seemed to notice! ;)

Had lots of walking and trying to keep up with four 4-year olds today was plenty of exercise! Now I need a nap! All that fresh air! It is a beautiful day here...not too warm...about 60, but sunny!

Food has been good so far. I had 1/2 bagel (Bacon, Egg & Cheese Bagel) from McDonald's this morning with my coffee. Lunch was a ww bread turkey & cheese sandwich with 1T lite Miracle whip and some fruit. I drank lots of water so far today and am still thirsty...must be all that fresh zoo air making me thirsty ;) !!!

Lucy, sorry you're not feeling well. A day at the beach will cure anything! Yea! The water here is a bit too chilly to be going to the beach yet, although a good walk on the beach sounds like fun! Maybe Sunday if it's not raining!

Jennifer...you are being very productive, sistah! I have no energy to clean my house right now! I am going to go take a nap while Kaleigh watches Veggie Tales for an hour!

Hope the rest of you are all having a great week. Please let us know how you are doing, since we are so close to the end of this challenge. I know Jennifer has some ideas for the next challenge...

So catch you all later and if I don't post this weekend will catch you on Monday!

Hugs to all

lisa girl 04-23-2004 04:46 PM

Julie - That zoo trip always wears me out! I'm glad you guys had a good time :)

Jennifer - I hope you had a decadently wonderful, relaxing day at home!

Lucy - WTG on the 2 pounds! Sorry you feel bad. I'm sure that beach trip will be just the awesome outing you need!

I'm having a day. Just a regular old day. Food is pretty good. Water needs some work. Lisa needs a vacation!!!! LOL!

Have a great Friday evening chickies!! And also a terrific weekend!!!!
