WTG Jennifer!!!!! :D

I did a good thing today. :D

I got the munchies like mad.
I went to the fridge.
I looked in all the cupboards. I couldn't figure out what the **** it was I was looking for.
Then I checked the fridge again.

And there were fresh sliced carrots in a big tub that I had cut this morning. I was all, SCORE! That was awesome. :D So I ate a bunch of carrots.
And now I hath no munchies. :D

Just wanted to post my victory. :) I am proud of myself. Especially since there's a whole pint of Half Baked in my freezer and I avoided it. I'm saving that for the weekend. And if I can go through the whole weekend w/o having any, then I can go throuhg all of next week, too. Avoiding it while it's in the house is going to be helpful, I think. It'll make me choose and I don't like to do that, so i'll be teaching myself lessons or something.

Talked to the hubby. Last weekend he bought a bunch of crap junkfood and brought me home Jack in the Box for lunch on Sunday while I was working on stuff here, and I had to eat the ick because he was so nice to think of me even though it was fast food which I don't like (Except onion rings because every time i try to make them, I FAIL and end up with greasy chunks of onion with no batter on them?), and I ended up feeling ikcy from ti. And he's just been kinda annoying with his "hey let's eat crap for dinner!" stuff lately. Argh.

Anyway yeah. :D I chose carrots!!!

Tuesday PM

Well first off....0 to our coach, cheerleader, and just plain ole leader (MY hero)....Ms. Jennifer!!!!! YEA for you!!! You have been awesome at keeping us going, keeping you on track and working in the **** hole all the while with your shadow who wreaks havoc with you daily...and yet still, you keep on giving it 110%!!! I am amazed at your willpower, stamina, endurance....whatever else you want to call it! You are AWESOME!!!

And Lucy...way to go on the choice for carrots! My DH was just sizing up the fridge today, looking in cupboards which don't have food, etc. and I asked him if he was looking for something to munch on! I had just hulled and cleaned 2 lbs. of strawberries and he got this suprised look on his face when I told him...and reached for them!!! I hope he doesn't eat all of them!
Rest up those bones of yours. YOu will feel better in the morning...and tell hubby to quit enticing you into fast food or I will send the tazer over there!!!!

Today was a good day with the exercise in the morning and food was right on target. I took plenty of snacks with me to work today, so no problem with trying to find sugar! Had a Zone bar about an hour after lunch! Those things could become addicting!!! Hubby bought me a whole box of the peanut butter ones! Yum!

So food today:

B- 2/3 c oatmeal
1 tsp. peanutbutter
1/2 cup 1/2% milk
3 oz. deli ham
L- 1 cup broccolli
1 slice bread w/ 2 oz. turkey & 1 oz. cheese, honey mustard
1/4 cup pineapple w/ about 1 T FF cool whip
S- Zone Bar
D- 3/4 cup stew meat in a mock stroganoff sauce
1/2 cup + green beans
1/2 cup pasta

Water is good today.. Drank about 45 oz. at work, 16 before work and working on my 2nd 16 oz. glass right now since I have been home! I could hit 100 if I worked at ti!

Hubby & I looked a a new mattress for our bed tonight! It will be nice to not have a sore neck when I awake! It should be delivered early next week sometime! There's a mattress company right here in our town that makes their own mattresses and can be adjusted if there is a problem say a month down the road...and a king size mattress & box spring is less than $800!!!

So plan tomorrow is pretty much the same except I need to get in my toning somehow! I have a dentist appointment in the morning (yuck) and need to come home after and work on some copmuter work stuff! Maybe I can sqeeze in a half hour...naw! Probably not!

I need to get this sent!!! Hope all are having a good day!
Hugs!

As for me, well, my life is in a BIG transition right now. It's o.k. though. I am in survival mode. But, I have a good support system, and things will be alright. But I want you guys to know I am so proud of you all, and I think you all have the right attitude and are doing a terrific job. :)

Evening check in, chickies. Tonight, did 40 minutes with the resistance bands- upper body, back, chest, and abs. Then, 20 minutes (6 miles) on the bike, and more resistance band & hand weight stuff while watching 24. I am going to be a hardbody 2 years from now, and you're going to be able to bounce a quarter off my tight butt and abs. :lol3: ok, for right now, that's a bit far-fetched, but seriously, I am working hard at this. I have a number in mind for my birthday- so I have 6 weeks from now to get my tush in gear and work it, work it, work it.

With my iPod- oooh, it feels so good to be able to write it, since I've earned it now, I will definitely be spending more time on my presssscious (bike) and getting my tush outdoors to walk. Well, right now, I have to have 3 clean days to finish up the challenge, and then start fresh for the Memorial day challenge.

I hope everyone here will be sticking around for that- post your total loss on 4/30 or 5/1, get your final award, and then jump to the new thread that will be started. Bring friends, new people, or just bring yourself and a renewed dedication to your goals. Rethink, revise...but definitely, stick around- I know I couldn't do this without the amazing support these chickies give!

I have to get my butt up early tomorrow- I am going to do the WATP even if it makes me an hour late to work. I don't want to have to explain that to my boss, or the miserable loan consultant I work with, so you know I might be red & sticky, but I'm getting it in & getting to work. ;)

Time to call it a night- catch my chickies in the morning- thanks for being so amazing- I owe each and every one of you a huge hug!

:grouphug:

Thursday Morning

Alright chicka-dees!!!! Its only 10:20 and already, I've showered as if to get ready for work, ate breakfast, did two loads of laundry before DD got up, fed her breakfast and got her ready, took her to daycare, been to the dentist to get a crown checked out (just a tooth shift, nothing serious-LOL), AND...are you ready???

I just finished a 2 mile walk outside in less than 30 minutes!! Wait! There's more! I jogged 3 times during that 2 mile walk...now, mind you...it wasn't very far...maybe 1/20th of a mile each time, but still...I did it! The big problem with jogging is the chest...moving around making it harder to breathe even though I had my arms squishing them (what a visual, eh?) Perhaps this is why I never liked to jog??? I guess I need to look at getting a good sports bra!!! But it felt good to do! And a couple of times I even did the side shuffle, like Leslie does in the WATP tape. I'm sure that was fun to watch as a spectator!~

Well I just wanted to share my news with you. I'm glad I did it...I was debating, calculating my time as to when I needed to get back so I could get my work done on the computer (for work) and even though it was a bit windy (hurts the ears!), the sun was shining... now it looks like it's going to rain, but that's Michigan for ya! "They" say we will be getting up to 70 degrees later today...I'll beleive it when I feel it! ;)

Food so far was 1/2 cup Egg beaters scrambled with a little onion sauteed, 1 oz. cheese on top of one of those corn tortillas I bought originally for wraps, but fall apart or get hard when nuked.
A zone bar right before my walk!
Water: Working on my 2nd 16 oz. glass and l cup Chai tea (just the tea, no milk or sweetner)! No coffee today! :( :coffee: :(

Have a great day, chickies!

lameducklucy 04-28-2004 03:58 PM

Way to go Jenn & Julie & Lisa! :D You guys are awesome.

Well, today is crazy. No formal workout, but does being uber-stressed and psycho-cleaning all day count?

Today is the six year mark for me & the hubby. :D Not for marriage, for our whole relationship. WOO!! SIX YEARS!! WOW.

So my living/kitchen is totally decorated & romantic -- silk flower petals on the ground, candles everywhere, beautiful xmas lights on the ceiling that could possible resemble stars if you thought about it the right way, lots of funky decorations, and stuff like that.

I am working on a crazy awesome dinner tonight. Here's the low-down, since today is definitely a not-on-plan day.

* 25 cooked & chilled shrimp, w/ a small dish of my own personal dipping sauce (Secret recipe!)
* A large italian salad w/ funky greens, fresh cherry tomatoes, fresh parmeseano regato (The real kind of cheese, not the kraft gunk!), croutons, italian dressing on the side, etc.
* 2 small, uber-lean steaks that shall be tender and cooked to perfection
* A large bowl of shrimp pasta (he takes it to work for lunch hehe)
* Fresh strawberries
* French bread (hot!)
* fresh strawberry lemonade (home made w/ real lemon & strawberries) with a little rum in it for a kick
* a small, 2-person cheesecake with fresh strawberries on the side

I may grate some chocolate onto the cheesecake.

Oh. I did I ever tell you guys I'm kind of a freelance chef? Yeah.... I cook really well.

Anyway, tonight we're supposed to be watching Basic Instinct, whatever it's about. *shrug* I heard it was a good movie & it's here, so we'll watch it.

Anyway, no workout today, but tomorrow it's back to the grind!!! :D

HAVE AN AWESOME DAY!!!!!!!!

hikein2005 04-29-2004 07:30 AM

Thursday AM

Good Morning everyone...
One more day of this challenge and we start a new one!

Lucy, how was your dinner? Sure sounds wonderful and if you want to come and cook here anytime, feel free!!! ;)

Jennifer...I'm sure yesterday was crazy busy for you! HOpe you are having a good day today!

LIsa....where are you???? MIss you chickie!!! Hope all is going well!

OK...My legs are pretty sore today from my walk (with SOME jogging)! Ouch! Guess maybe I wasn't ready for that jogging bit! But I managed to get up this morning and do 1 mile WATP...with the warm up and cool down is was 1.5 miles, so I got part of my workout in this morning. I'm going to see if I can sneak into the rehab room today at work and do some stretchy-stuff toning!

Food is planned and ready to go today!
I tried one of those Cottage Cheese Doubles (raspberry, of course!) and it was pretty good. I added another 1/2 cup cottage cheese to get all my protein in and had creamer in my coffee to make up for lost carbs (not the best of choices, I know, but hey...within the #'s, right?)

Hubby just called me this morning to see if I still want to go camping this weekend because it's supposed to be cold (high 50's/low 60's) and rainy all weekend starting tomorrow! Yuck! I still want to go, but he doesn't! :( Kaleigh and I have so been looking forward to this! He doesn't understand why I want to go sit in a camper all weekend and be out in the rain...just one more reason for him to be mad at me!!! But, ultimately, it's up to him...he's the one driving and pulling the trailer! (Not that I couldn't do it, of course... ;) )

Will catch you all later and update you on my day and the camping "saga"!

Hugs chickies!

**Jennifer** 04-29-2004 09:01 AM

Woo Hoo Everybody! Doing Good!

Yesterday was just so hectic- I didn't even get a chance to make a journal entry until after 3-something. I'm giddy with excitement- I hit my first goal, and now I've got a new middle number.....Yeeeeaaaaah! :D

I'll be back for a longer entry- I've got some fires to pee on this morning, since it's nearly month end.

Happy Thursday, chickies!!!!

lameducklucy 04-29-2004 01:32 PM

Bleeeeech. :)

TOM. Ouch. Not working out today. Instead, going to be drugging myself silly with naproxen and snuggling on the couch to bask in the 80 degree sunlight all day.

**Jennifer** 04-29-2004 01:47 PM

:D :D :D

I've got my mojo back....all it took was a lot of sweating, and a jump down in the #s from the added exercise. Yippie!!! And my handsome reward should be shipping out again, since the first one was damaged. I can hardly wait!!!! Yes, I'm like a kid with a new toy- but it will help me blast this fat from my body.

Last night, while doing 2 miles of the 3 mile WATP Tape I noticed something....Leslie has the dreaded batwing underarms in that video! I seriously almost stopped dead in my tracks to check my own out. It's right towards the end of the first mile segment- when she's using the ab belt to do some overhead work, and pec flyes. While she walks, and is going to "show" you...there's the jiggle....

Anyway, I had to turn & check out mine in the dresser mirror, while trying to keep time, and yeah, I've got some serious batwing action, but it's not as bad as it was- the muscle toning from the UB workouts, and now the resistance bands, there's less loose skin. Now, I'd have to look like Ahhhhnold in his super-bodybuilding phase to use up all that skin, but it's less droopage than before. I'm slightly excited about that- I mean, come on- how excited can you be about saggy drooping bits

I got the coolest thing this week- I ordered it on line for 2.99- it's a neat little anchor for the resistance bands- lets you attach it to the bands and anchor it to a closed door at different heights, so now I can do exercises that I would have needed to go to the gym for, like lateral presses, lateral pulldowns, leg extensions, and other neat things. I made cheat sheets with the exercises, so I can go through the entire circuit. I tell ya, I am going to be a hardbody one of these years!

Did the 2 miles last night. Dinner was chicken tenderloins with fat free gravy, and 2 cups of green beans. Yum! Anything tastes better with gravy on it, right?

Today's plan

No morning exercise- rest day

Breakfast:
1/3 cup smart start
1 pineapple cottage double
1 oz fat free cheddar

Lunch
3/4 cup bowtie pasta
3/4 cup meat sauce
sprinkle parmesan
1 4oz can of pineapple chunks, to be fully drained & rinsed off

Dinner- at least this is what I'm thinking about
chicken breast with a hint of barbecue sauce
veggies- maybe green beans, or sauerkraut, or some cold beets....something a little different

Before Friends, I want to do either 2 miles WATP, or 30 minutes on the bike. Keep things moving, and keep on burning.

Lucy, hope you are feeling better, girlie!

lameducklucy 04-29-2004 02:41 PM

Okay I'm back. To post the food & stuff for today to keep myself accountable n whatnot, even tho I don't plan on moving a whole lot today at all.

Jennifer - I feel okay, just light headed & sore, so I'm chillin' out. :D

Food today:
B - leftover shrimp pasta (not much... not hungry)
L - maybe a grilled cheese sandwich, if I have any bread left.
D - burgers or hot dogs, I think. I want a hot dog for dinner, tho, with mustard. Sounds okay to me. :D

I know. I'm really doing just meat & starch today, but I have to get as much iron is as I can, and it makes me feel sick, and bread makes me NOT feel sick. It's okay. I'm at a standstill on losing at the moment. Stupid plateau!! I hate how the last little bit that has to go is SO STUPID AND STUBBORN!! AAAGH!!

I have to lose 2 small, easy little sizes. That's IT! I work out religiously every day (except sick days as today), I eat healthy, I take my darn vitamins & do more than enough water almost every day, and sleep enough and etc etc etc.

I am ready to just scream, here!! AGH!! *rips out some hair* Ya know what I mean?

It occured to me this morning in a fit of happiness and annoyance. I looked in the mirror while I was getting dressed, and noticed that my legs only have a little tiny bit to go in order to be the right size again, and same with my arms (they've always been big, but I'm gonna work on those even harder next week, and forever), and my tummy is not that big but it's big enough to be an annoyance. My mouth dropped open, and I turned in front of the mirror -- what the ****? Who is this half-way cute person with a body that isn't so bad anymore? It's ME?!

So now I am on a mission to lose that last little bit NOW NOW NOW. I am going nuts with it. The hubby even pointed out, last night, that I really don't have much left to lose.

I am kinda thinking 'screw the scale' here. I've always been heavier than I look because I'm layered 4x as thick with muscle as I should be. So what? At least I can be proud of my funny shape if it's muscular, right? Exactly. And I was, before, darn it. And I will be, again, darn it.

Now... off to devise some magical plan to rid myself of the last 2 sizes without going on a crash diet, use of horrible illegal drugs (no way!), or any other icky things like this....

magnoliamouth 04-30-2004 06:28 AM

Well everyone sounds like they have been having the same ole ups and downs I have. I have lost another 1.5 lbs, now at 171. Thank god and darn I wish it was more. I know I have been doing good with food and exercise, just my mental status needs a housecleaning. I was in hiding yesterday, had that, I could eat anything that doesn't move out of my way feeling. It wasn't hunger, it was frustration and the yukness of the day. So I hid! it worked I didn't eat over my quota of calories! I did my exercise, 30 min on treadmill. I can't wait to get into 160's, I am looking forward to that to give me more inspiration during the tough times!

hikein2005 04-30-2004 07:17 AM

Friday AM

Just a quickie entry before DD wakes up!

Yesterday I weighed myself unofficially...and I was at 170 & 1/8th...which means that quite possibly today, I could be at that magical 169#. I am wearing jeans to work today, so weighing myself on my scale (which weighs about 2-3lbs less than the work scale) today, I am well under 169...more like 165! So that is GREAT news to me!

I have done great with my self challenge this week. Worked out every day since I started. Today I had plenty to do to get ready for camping, so no formal workout. Maybe, if it's not raining (predicted) when we get to the campground tonight after we set up...I will do a mile or so walk! I am feeling in the groove...what is it Jennifer says...got my mojo back!!! YEA! I will NOT lose it this weekend to old habits of camping! NO, NO, NO!

OK...found a great article from Truestart...get a daily article from them and sometimes they are helpful! Here's the link (darned computer is working so slow this morning...we have been getting lots of viruses...which norton is picking up and cleaning, but maybe too many to work efficeintly...so here's the web address if you want to look it up:
http://www.truestarhealth.com/member...?id=11ml3p1a31

Gotta run chickies...Hugs to you all and let's make this next challenge the best ever! I plan to lose 5 more lbs by the end of the May! I will post my new goals/approaches when we get back from camping!

Hugs!
