September is a great time to settle into healthy routines that support our weight loss goals.
Join the September Weight Loss Challenge to set your goal, track it, and meet it -- with the help of a supportive and encouraging group. All the goals will be compiled into a list. As each goal is met during the month, it gets turned RED in celebration.
This thread is for weight loss goals. For your exercise goals, check out our sister thread: September Exercise Challenge
Since I got back to the 82s, I'm going to attempt again to maintain there. More importantly, I challenged myself to use the My Fitness Pal food diary this month.
September goals: maintain below 83kgs, fill out MFP each day

I am also in too, please. September reminds me this is the time of year in 2020 when I started my weight loss. It took 3 years to go from 264 to 150. The past year I have basically been maintaining that weight within a few pounds up and down.
Today I was 151.4 so I will once again say my goal is one pound.
gardenerjoy I don't do My Fitness Pal, but I do it "old school" literally with a piece of paper. LOL I highly recommend tracking however it gets done. Eventually it becomes a good habit.
flower1 I am impressed with your goals and reaching them!
I just realized today how long it’s been since I’ve had any real progress. Not the way I wanted to start my morning. I had to reset my password so I had to look at the full site and it showed that I’ve been here since 2019 and my starting weight was pretty much where I am right now. I guess that should be incentive enough to make more progress.
But on a good side, I have been down a little this week. If it can hold through the weekend, I will set a new goal. SW: 191.6 GW: 190.0 -1.6
loganandlivsmom: thanks! Congrats on your amazing weight loss over the last 3 years and maintaining that loss for the past year! Maintenance can be challenging.
Count me in Joy. I don't know why but I want in anyway.
I not only did not make my 4 lb goal last month, but I put on 7 more lbs.
I got kind of tired of eating those 1000 to 1200 calories per day.... and let up. I still do not care to going back to those small meals, and I do not want to gain anymore. And I do not want to gain anymore. Unfortunately, I can walk under a sign advertising ice cream and pick up 10 lbs. So I avoid those signs now, The other day, a candy wrapper from a Snickers bar blew across the sidewalk and I stepped on it, that got me two more lbs.
Anyway, I weighed while ago and am at 224 lbs, I will set a goal of losing two of those lbs.
SW 224 lbs
goal 222 lbs And avoid ice cream signs and candy wrappers, especially Snickers
Thanks flower1!! Basically I have learned that maintenance is really just the same as losing. You have to do the same thing you did to lose to keep it off. If you don't the pounds magically come back. LOL!! When I was younger I would lose really fast. When I thought I looked pretty good I would stop watching it. I wished I kept it up a long time ago. Better late than never I guess!
Big Fat Rooster Isn't 1000 or 1200 calories too low? I know I wouldn't be able to stick with that at all. Have you ever checked out the online calorie calculators? When I first started losing I googled "calories needed to maintain weight." It said for my gender, age. weight and sedentary I would need 2400 calories to maintain. With that info I stayed below that say 2200. When the weight loss slowed down I lowered it another 100 calories or so. Now I have to have 1500 it says to lose at sedentary. This is why it's stopped-slowed down. Now I am trying to get more activity in. I would definitely check out what the calculators recommend.
