Hi all - I have struggling to get myself motivated to exercise for over a month now. I hope to see if I can do better for the rest of the month.

I'm pleased with my progress, but I want to get some more strength-training in again. I'm babying my left shoulder due to some pain, but there are other parts of my body that I can strengthen. Gardenerjoy: I hope your shoulder is feeling better. Thanks for the encouragement. We've had sunny weather for the past few days and it makes it easier to get outside for a walk. It's so nice to see the sun:)

Hi! I am joining in!
I seriously don't exercise AT ALL but I want to to get started to help with my weight loss-maintenance goals. I do stay busy around the house when not working and I do walk as in walking around stores when my daughter has her numerous dance classes, etc...I will start intentionally walking even for just 15 minutes a day...so that is my goal: 15 minutes of continuous walking (or doing a walking online video) each day. I know it won't make me lose more weight as much as it helps burn some calories by increasing my metabolism. |

Well...I guess I need to change the exercise goal next month. I should be more like those who have a goal for a total amount of minutes for the whole month. I did do the 15 minutes for a day or two but that's it. I really do stay active either around the house and yard (when not working) or walking around stores when my daughter is in her various dance classes. Walking around stores is more leisurely vs real exercise so I don't count that as exercise. It has to be better than just sitting in my car for an hour or so. :lol:

loganandlivsmom; The minutes per month goal is great because it's flexible. If I miss a day, I can make up the minutes another day. That really helped me get my exercise journey started. Could you take an exercise walk before the window-shopping walk while your daughter is in class? I've occasionally walked the width or length of a parking lot way at the back where no one is parked. It can feel weird to do that in public, but I read somewhere that we should normalize it. We should make it weird to see people just standing when they could be moving. That's why I do stretches while I'm at the gas pump.

Gardenerjoy: I like your idea of doing stretches at the gas pump:). Congrats on meeting your stretch goal. I'm still very inconsistent with my exercise but it's better than last month as I didn't exercise at all in Feb. I'm going to see if I can get 2 more exercise sessions in this month so that I can make one of my goals of exercising at least 10 times for a minimum of 20 minutes per session.
