Hello again, Joy. My overall goal is to lose 1 lb. each week, on average. October is a bit more than 4 weeks. So, I will aim for a total of 5 lbs.

Hello Muffs & Joy. Welcome MrBadger.
I didn’t quite meet my September goal and had a bounce up this morning to start the month (probably partially due to my crazy day yesterday of eating out of the house for all 3 meals). Well a new month & a new goal, so I’m going to set my goal for the month a drop below my September goal (183) so I’m going 182. It’s 4.6 from where I am today & 2.8 from where I was yesterday. If I get it I’ll set a bonus goal. My Immediate goal is actually to get below 185 & stay there for a week (that’s when I earn my first “treat” I set for myself). Muffs: I went in the wrong direction, too. I suspect too much salt and some water retention from muscle-building yoga poses.

No change this morning...definitely not due to muscle building yoga poses in my case! Still, doing what I'm doing has got me this far, so I shall continue to wait patiently..

I was going in the wrong direction as well. Mine was definitely not due to muscle building anything. In my case it was Chinese food & visiting my mother-in-law for her birthday (she wanted to cook). I’ll be back to cooking this week. Also decided to be determined to get my steps in, even if that has to be at home walking in place. It’s rainy & cold and I had too much to do at work yesterday so didn’t make it to the gym. Here’s hoping I can get there today.

WendyWants2Change: I use YouTube to give me more entertaining indoor walk workouts. Leslie Sansone has a bunch of her old videos up on the Walk At Home channel. I also really enjoy the walking videos at Improved Health, Grow With Jo, and Sharona's Hill.

Scale continues to be stubborn! P.S. I'm not sure if this was just good luck or an anomaly...but the 3FC site today is operating at normal speeds, as opposed to its normal snail's pace. I hope whoever runs the site has managed to fix whatever the problem was that caused it to be so slow!

Muffs: Yes. One of the volunteer coordinators was told that the 3FC site had been fixed. I'm so glad!

start: 16st 1.5lb / 225.5lb
current: 15st 13.5lb / 223.5lb - 2lb loss target: 15st 10lb / 220lb - 5.5lb loss 2lb loss so far. I think I was carry a bit of muscle repair weight at the start of the month, so it's not all "true" loss in the week. but I'm pretty happy to be out of the 16st range & (just) into 15st. :D |
I had an overly snacky weekend. I knew the scale reading would be high today, but I decided I wanted to see the high number for the pleasure of watching it fall over the week. I'm hiking today -- that usually helps.

Joy - your wording made me laugh (I think I might use that in the future since being overly snacky is usually my problem). I’m with you. I had an enjoyable weekend with friends & making memories, and I ate some not-so-healthy meals, but all is ok. My scale was already on the down swing this morning. Here’s to a productive week.

I'm pleased that I reached my half-way goal to weigh 20 times, before the half-way point of the month. At least, I know I'm not avoiding the scale too much.

I do try to weigh every day, at least this way I don’t slip too far.

Good going MrBadger … slow & steady is the way to keep it off. Portion size was/is my problem too. I was up, but thankfully not too much. I won my reward 😀. MrBadger: It took a long time for me to wrap my head around the notion that I had to eat less, not just better. I still kind of resent that eating better didn't result in the weight loss I anticipated! But, when I step back, I'm also aware that I generally feel better when I eat better, so it all helps. This month was our Canadian Thanksgiving, so I was away visiting family, and when I returned I had to catch up on a lot of things. But I now have a bit more time to visit the site again. While away I put on a few pounds, but lost them again. I doubt I'll make goal, but perhaps I'll come close. Hope all of you are doing well!
