Good for you Joy! I seem to be going round and round, despite eating a similar number of calories each day and doing a similar amount of exercise. Oh well, eventually, I will also see downward movement. Good luck to all today!

Everyone there is following the advice in the books by Judith Beck which advocate using Cognitive Behavior Techniques for weight loss -- essentially analyzing our thoughts and behaviors around food so we can figure out better ways of doing things.

Well, good news and bad news. The good news is I made goal! The bad news is some might argue I cheated, since I switched scales (hehe!). The scale I have been using is not entirely accurate (I can step on it three times in a row and get three different readings). However, I also own a very good "balance beam scale"...the type often seen at a doctor's office, with sliding weights at eye level. I haven't been using the balance beam scale since it was buried in my basement and not very convenient. Plus, it was too heavy for me to carry upstairs. However, my son kindly dropped by and brought it upstairs for me. I weighed a pound less on the new scale...therefore, my drop is from switching scales. Joy, perhaps you shouldn't mark me as reaching goal until I get to 229! All that said, going forward, I will at least have more accurate information. I have also set a revised goal...hoping to get to 227 by month's end. Fingers crossed!
Muffs: Ha! That's the way to do it. Consistency in a scale is much more satsifying.

I can't explain today's upward move, so I'm going to ignore it and assume that it will disappear soon. I probably won't weigh tomorrow, though. I'm getting the new variant of the COVID booster this afternoon.
No change this morning, which is fine, although I think my revised goal is a bit of a stretch, since there are only 10 days in September. Oh well, might as well give it a shot. Good luck, Joy and Wendy!
