Happy August! Thank you for the new thread! Yesterday on 7/31 my weigh in was 287.1 and today in August 1st I am 286.1 and I’m now 30.7 lbs down from my start, lowest weigh in on my journey thus far. This month I want to hit the 270’s, my goal is 279.8. My journey has been almost entirely diet based but I want to include some walks with my kids to help burn calories and get them out and about.

Thank you Kstrong, I just woke up a little while ago and my thighs are hurting (I slept wrong) it will be ok but ouch. I weighed in at 285.1 today so I’m less than 6 lbs to goal for August.

KStrong: Those scale readings definitely do anything but proceed in a nice linear fashion.

August goal: Maintain below 87.0 kgs

3: 86.5 kgs

Thank you for the support Kstrong, it's been a rough week for my weight loss journey. I had hit 285.1 some days ago, then I visited Whole Foods, the so-called healthy food mecca for many, but for me has been a triggering place for years. Not every visit but I have indulged in a ton of "healthier for you" junk food over the years (I'm sure I mention this in old posts from my previous successful weight loss journey), and this visit was no exception. I have a strong affinity for these candies called "Smart Sweets" which are a lower carb (they are love or hate in the keto/low carb community because some people have been kicked out of ketosis eating the serving size), and I went and bought (2) bags that each had 3 servings per bag, and proceeded to gulp them all down during episodes of Umbrella Academy on Netflix. I also had High Key chocolate chip cookies (these are good) and I can't recall whatever else. Well at first my gain was slow, like a pound or so up the next day, but over the coming days despite being on track I gained over 4 lbs, nearly putting me back in the 290's, did I mention I was on track since the Smart Sweets binge? I was freaking out, and so I decided to "cheat" with some food from this place called Buccee's we have here in Texas, and get back on track the next day and stay there. The day before yesterday was the cheat day, I had a sandwich with thick bread, 2 bags of spicy chips (Flamas & Limon Flaming Hot Doritos) and some Bavarian almond-style cashews, I went the whole hog, and I stuck to my word of being on track yesterday, today I'm 286.4. I will remain on track and my cheat day was more about shaking things up than actually wanting the food I ate, though I won't lie it was tasty lol. I love my low-carb/keto eating plan, for the most part I don't really feel deprived, but certain "keto-friendly" foods will trap me and throw me off. Thanks for reading, I like full disclosure and accountability.

Candidcamster: I'm with you on Whole Foods being a danger zone. Not everything there is "whole," much less healthy. I've proven to myself over and over again that I can overeat healthy foods just as well as unhealthy ones.

Hello everyone
I'm new here and would like to join the August challenge if I may?
I'm from NZ.

I have around 38kg (83lbs) I want to lose all up, but for this month, I would settle for maybe just 2 or 3 kg!

Is anyone doing any type of fasting? I'm thinking about doing alternate day fasting....

KStrong I'm intrigued! How do you find doing OMAD? Has it brought you success?

I'm on to my second 36 hour fast for the week, dropped 4kg overnight with the first! But I'm sure it's just 'water' weight
