May Weight Loss Challenge
As the world works together to control the pandemic, we can work together to control some aspect of our healthy routines. Set a goal that works for you at this moment in time. It can be a traditional weight loss goal for the month, or a goal to maintain, or a goal to eat vegetables every day.
Join the May Weight Loss Challenge to set your goal, track it, and meet it -- with the help of a supportive and encouraging group. All the goals will be compiled into a list. As each goal is met during the month, it gets turned RED in celebration. This thread is for weight loss goals. For your exercise goals, check out our sister thread: May Exercise Challenge |
I set a maintenance goal last month. And, ended up losing more than I would have set as a goal!
Let's see if I can pull that trick on my brain twice in a row: May goal: Maintain below 89kgs |
Thank you gardenerjoy for starting this thread.
Please add me to the May challenge. My goal is to lose 8 lb. I will post my starting weight on Friday May 1st. Thank you |

Hi everyone, I've been waiting to see this thread since coming back to the site a handful of days ago. My goal is 289.9 (I want to get out the 290's and into the 280s! lol), my lowest weight was 294.2 a handful of days ago and my current weight is 296.1, so 6.2 lbs. down from today's weight over the next month.

My first time joining this challenge, because I need accountability! I would like to lose 1 pound a week, for an attainable goal of 4 lb loss for this month. Starting weight - 156.0
|
Out of 180s plateau
I am currently at minus 30 pounds and 184.5 pounds. I fluctuated here all of April. My goal is to get below 180 in May! I'm snacking a lot this weekend though on ginger candy of all things... I wonder if I am subconsciously sabotaging myself. Anyone else ever wonder that?:o

I went on a walk yesterday and today I'm gonna hopefully squeeze in a workout. VickieLou - Good to see you back! VermontMom - Welcome! BabaSylli - Yes, I wonder that too sometimes! I give myself excuses to allow myself to treat myself. I'm learning not to, but it's a hard habit to break. We can do it though! |
Hey everyone, yesterday (5/2/20) I hit my lowest since I’ve been on my journey, 293.9 lbs. so I’m officially 22.9 lbs down since beginning my journey at 316.8 back in mid to late November/2019. My goal for the month of May is 289.9, 4 lbs to go. Trying to avoid the scale for the next few days.

I did my walk yesterday, it's starting to get hot here! I'm unsure if I'll walk in the summer...I just hate how humid it gets in Georgia. Feels like stepping into a sauna and I hate the feel of sweat! |
Riestrella I lived in ALbany Georgia when I was a little kid back in the 1960s and I can still remember the spanish moss hanging from the trees, and the heat and humidity.
I have had a terrible week - my weight is up - I have completely ruined my downward statistical trend. So now I can't show my weight loss chart to my doctor in June. This month is the anniversary of my wife passing away from leukemia a few years ago. :(:(:( I have been under a lot of stress at work. I am just going to try to restart my progress this week. AND I am only going to weigh myself once a week from now on. I don't need sadness and disappointment on a morning of a work day. :(:(:( Best of luck to everyone. |
Hi Darius, I’m sorry for your loss. About your weight loss journey, it’s almost never a straight line, there will be little zigs and zags especially if you weigh often, not even of your doing, just natural fluctuations. I’ve overeaten from time to time since being on my journey and the scale has given me a loss, and I’ve eaten righteously and the scale has gone up. Just focus on being healthier and you will get there. Weigh in for May 8, 2020- 293.9 May challenge goal weight- 289.9 |

I've been drinking alcohol a lot more in the week, I think next week I'm gonna refrain from it until the weekend. Also ate late last night, 9pm, so that could contribute to today's gain. Just gonna keep on trucking! darius - Sounds like you've got a lot going on in your life, but please don't beat yourself up! Forgive yourself, sometimes we make mistakes but that's ok. We can learn from them, grow from them and move forward in the right direction. I know how tough it can be to be reminded of the passing of a loved one, and it must be difficult since it was your wife, but she would not want you to be sad and down on yourself. Sending you a big big hug and I know you can do this! |
Thank you so much Candidcamster and Riestrella for the words of encouragement. I really appreciate them.
I hope you all have a good weekend and a good upcoming week. |

Week 2 04: 194.4 lbs 05: 195 lbs 06: 195.4 lbs 07: 195.4 lbs 08: 196 lbs 09: 194.2 lbs 10: 193 lbs ------------------------------------------- Average Weight for Week 2: 194.7 lbs Total Loss for Week 2: + 0.1 lbs Happy that my weight dropped over the weekend! I think it's down to me eating based on my hunger levels rather than routine eating. My friend made a good point that I eat dinner early so I might be getting hungrier at night, which means unnecessary snacking. While I don't see myself suddenly eating dinner late, it did make me think perhaps I'm eating certain meals at certain times just because I've been programmed that way. Over the weekend I tried to just eat when I was hungry and skipped lunch on Saturday because when I thought about it I wasn't really that hungry. Seems to have worked! |
Way to go Riestrella! Terrific work! :D:D:D
|
I'm still around! I just had a pretty bad week so far and my weight has been showing it. I've been feeling run down and had some stomach issues last night. I think I've been feeling the effects of the temperature fluctuations and my stomach is probably my IBS. I don't have a serious case of IBS thankfully, but sometimes certain foods trigger it, my stomach has been a bit tender all day!
|
The goal I have set for myself is to be realistic! I have committed to taking a walk every morning. So far I am 14/14! Hope the weather keeps up!
|
Hey everyone, my weight has been as low as 293.7 and as high as 295.9 over the past few days. I’ve been eating a lot of candy (Choczero hazelnut chocolate and Smart Sweets) and I had a pizza to myself from Mod Pizza with cauliflower crust, none of which are conducive to my goals, tomorrow is another day. |
Hello everyone; today is my Friday weigh-in day.
I am not on track make my goal this month, but I welcome any loss really. I didn't make my goal last month either :( Thank you Riestrella and Candidcamster for the kind words of encouragement! Darius So Sorry for Your Loss. Nice to see You too, Riestrella! I'm not doing very well with my stress snacking. I wanted to get to my year end GW before my Birthday in September. But not sure if I will reach it. Good Luck, Everyone!

I'm happy with this, especially with my birthday in there. Of course, I didn't have much opportunity to get into the usual birthday pitfalls since we're social-distancing. My birthday celebration pretty much consisted of Facebook well-wishers -- no calories in that party!

Thank you very much VickieLou and CandidCamster!
Happy Birthday gardenerjoy! I hope everyone has a nice Memorial Day weekend. |
darius: Wishing you a safe and fun Memorial Day weekend, too.
Ha! Yesterday's low might have been a blip. Note to self: It's a whole lot easier to tell what's going on if I weigh myself more routinely. May goal: Maintain below 89kgs 2: 88.9 kgs 3: 88.85 4: 88.95 5: 89.0 21: 88.25 22: 88.75 |

Hey everyone! May 26 I hit my lowest weight of 292.1, on the 27th I was 292.6, which means I'm 24 lbs down since I began. That said it was a heavy eating day, lots of carbs from fruit, so I've decided to stay off the scale until about the 31st. I'm close to my goal, but not sure if I will hit it on the 31st or not.

Thank you @ gardenerjoy! Hey idealproteinnewbie! She is 19 months now, she’s growing up too fast, I chase her around the house on a regular lol. ETA my pics come out sideways on this site, I haven’t figured out how to fix them. |
My mini addiction to sweet fruits looks like it will cost me my goal in a few days. My lowest a few days ago was 292.1 which means I only needed 2.2 lbs to reach my goal, but I’m not beating myself up over it. Today’s weight was 294.4, at least I didn’t eat junk food or binge. Darn that fructose! lol |
Candidcamster: Love seeing your daughter and her sweet smile!
