Going back up. Weight this morning is 196.4. It's my fault for grabbing fast food after my work out. I bought groceries yesterday and will stick to my plan. Will see how this goes.
Have a good day every one.

Hello all you Beauties!! I loved reading the past few pages of this thread to see how y’all are doing. Lots of positive energy here.
Lacerta: I am super stoked to see 195 for you. Well done :carrot:
Ophelia SnowMama Ange mrs deenz: thank you so much for the vacation wishes. Ophelia: you’re kicking butt as usual. SnowMama: LOL on dating. You and I could prolly write a book about the pitfalls of online dating. Good thing we’re both discerning ;). Ange: I luv your motivating posts and seeing you commit so well to maintenance. Mrs Deenz: good weight loss!! So many of us are in same neighborhood of weight.
Beeps: hello there. I’m 57 and past mentalpause and I too have found weight loss becomes harder with each decade but we are stronger and find eating plans that overcome. Yay for us!!
Newlyn: I didn’t know your dad has dementia and Parkinson’s. Glad he still has some mobility. And that he has you.
Jeny: hello there! You and I are at same weight and I love that you live in CR! Thanks again for your message and welcome. Glad you feel better. Let’s lose this weight together!!
Ceejay: I do low carb also and I love it.
Yangtzer: bless your heart, I sure hope I can say same as you - just 3 pounds to lose when I return from my vacation :D

First 4 days on Tortuguero tour I wavered a bit due to available food choices but now in our condo in Dominical it’s easy to stay low carb. I’m pleasantly surprised to see food in restaurants supports low carb. Ceviche in lime wow! Lots of seafood and delicious salads. I don’t think I’m overeating but booze is likely knocking me out of ketosis. Pina coladas, flavoured vodka and water ... and Heineken beer. I’m keeping drinks per day low and drinking loads of water.

Exercise: a lot of walking to see things, along the beach and our condo complex requires a long walk up. Boogy boarding in ocean and swimming in pool. I’m very much looking forward to a horse back ride in the jungle tomorrow to play in a popular waterfall. Today I’m resting in some AC to heal sunburn & heat rash. :o

Will check in next week. Have a great week everyone.

Hello Follena - I think the CRAZIEST thing about "menopause" is nobody has ANY idea "where" they are in the process! Are you 1 year into a 5 year menopause? Are you 2 months into a 12 month menopause? ...since every woman is different, no woman gets to know "when" they are actually in it (...I am excluding women who have had medical intervention that forces menopause, such as a full hysterectomy...) and "when" they are actually going to be on the other end of it. Sigh....I really do think the medical community fails women!! We are >50% of the population but issues that affect women just have so little research going on, relatively speaking.

Anyway, off soap box!

I did weigh yesterday. I want to be >170 lbs by end of February and i can hit that if I keep my mind on avoiding all night-time snacking and drinking water before every meal and before I ever touch a snack. I am a high-water ingester!!

Beeps2011 02-21-2019 09:39 AM

Good luck today, ceejay - fresh groceries means fresh chances to get it right!

Hi JenyReddy - I am going to do body measurements, too....I used to take them once every 2 weeks. I think, just to get things started, I will accept one x per month. If they are going "down", then I can accept that is what I am REALLY aiming for!

Lacerta - stress-eating IS a double-whammy, for sure....the lesson there is that stress-management is the right way to manage ALL things "life" anyway. Stress is part of the human condition - those who manage it well, really have better quality of life. Period.

I did both a weight-workout and a cardio-workout yesterday...which is fine since I skipped on Monday. Friday, I am also doing a double-workout - weights first, then cardio. I hope Saturday we do an active "family activity" - weather permitting.

MY GOODNESS I CANNOT WAIT FOR SPRING AND THIS WINTER IS TOO DRAGGY!!

Ugh. So I had a great week on the scale, and that is fabulous, but I got home from work last night and my throat started hurting. Got really bad during the night and a bad headache has come on as well. So apparently, vegetables do not make one immune to sickness. I've been fighting it off all month and now it has finally caught up with me. Bunch of schools are closed in my area because of so many kids out with strep throat and the flu. I could have either. Going to take it easy today and get lots of rest and fluids.

Good excuse to do a bit of 'carb loading' today - my weight's at the lower end of it's fluctuations and I have my 27 mile trek tomorrow :corn:. Starts with a train at 0511, so will have to be out of the house before 5! Not that that is soo difficult since i'm normally up by 5:15 these days anyway. Instructions are we have to bring food we can eat on the move since if the pace isn't good enough we're not stopping for lunch!

Strong month MrsDeenz, top work!

Follena - great to see you pop in whilst you're away - even though it was just to check up on us and make sure we're not doing anything naughty :mag: and great you're having a good time. Careful with the sunburn! I'm with you on the ceviche and lime - absolutely delicious. I love all the raw proteins actually, carpaccio, steak tartare etc too

Beeps - I'm one step back even from the 'how-long-will-this-last-menopause' since I don't even know whether I've started yet! Don't think so, but I've been on continuous contraceptives since I was 17 so my periods aren't really real, and since I've had the implant thing (10+ years now) they're pretty erratic too. I started my periods early so was kind of expecting menopause early but seemingly my body has other ideas.

Late entry for today I can't find where I posted on the 19th

I'm taking today's weigh in with a grain of salt. Since I'm sick, it could easily be dehydration and not any fat loss. Today, it has advanced past the sore throat into a full blown cold with all the trimmings. Goody!

JenyReddy: I looked into Keto, but decided it wasn't sustainable for me. I also have PCOS, and chose the less severe route of cutting back drastically on carbs, but not cutting them out completely. Good luck to you if you decide to go that route. I know some people have had great success with it, but I just decided it wasn't for me.

ceejay: Math looks right to me. Way to go.

ange: A 27 mile hike?! Wow! That's even longer than a marathon. How did it go?

As I thought, yesterday was an anomaly. Probably dehydration. Still really bad cold, but I've been trying to make sure I get lots of water.

ange82much 02-23-2019 04:19 PM

lacerta - yep, clocked up about 28 miles in the end since I walked to the station and back too! :running: It was in to a strong headwind most of the way and plenty of rain, and hils, and quite a few sandy beaches all of which were little challenge-multipliers! We started walking at 7am and ran for the 6pm train at the end, with no stops over about 3 minutes during that time!

The biggest challenge was the speed through the flat sections in the first half because the leader was long-legged and keen to get it done, so the three shortish girls there (myself included) were really struggling to walk at that pace and kept having to do little runs to keep up!! But it was great, I felt strong all the way through.

Lots of aches coming my way now though, and in some weird places too because of trying to take big strides quickly - for example my inner thighs are aching this morning, and my waist at the back on both sides - not really normal walking muscle problem areas!! The big muscle groups are just revving up ready to give me a hard time tomorrow....

oh, and ate far too much to even compensate for all that exercise - got to keep the fuel up (??!)

Hope you're feeling better soon and can get some rest today :getwell:

We've been celebrating my daughter's birthday all weekend and I've been trying to behave. I wish the weather would get better so I can get out and walk some more. It's been cold and/or raining/snowing forever, I just want a few decent days to get out of the house.
