Follena, Newlyn and MrsDeetz: Thanks. Progress is definitely slower these days, but those new lows every few days are nice to see. I was going to say that they motivate me, but then I realized that I don't need motivation. The way I'm eating is the way I'm going to continue to eat, because it isn't a diet. So I'll just keep eating this way and see where it lands me, weight-wise. Then I'll decide whether I want to modify further to lose more.

MrsDeetz: Nice Whoosh. That's over 4 pounds in 5 days.

Still not much change. I'm still feeling "off". I think I've been right on the verge of getting sick all week. Never actually felt "sick", just "off". My stomach has been upset since yesterday. Not enough to be called nausea, just an upset stomach. Considering everyone around me has had the flu, if "off" is the worst I get, that's a win.

This is so bang ON! I often remind myself of this and it becomes most especially important once we reach maintenance.

Morning all! This will be my last post for a while because I won't have a scale for the next 3 weeks. Here's hoping when I come back to March Weight Loss Challenge on March 6th, things haven't completely gone off the rails :D
Yesterday I had a bowl of chili and beans are very high carb ... it showed next day on scale. No worries. See you in a few and stay strong all you lovely women!!!

Follena: Have fun in Costa Rica, and I hope you have a happy birthday while you are there!!! :beach: See you next month!

Newlyn: Congrats on hitting a new low this week! :cheer3:

Lacerta: It's good that you already knew how the situation would affect you and that you were able to stand your ground on the issue! That is something I struggle with, especially if there is any way to feel guilty about something, so I applaud you on sticking to what would be right for you and your husband in the long run. And, congrats on hitting your 70 lbs down milestone...that's awesome!!! :yay:

MrsDeenz: Nice drops! :)

Well, this is not at all how I was wanting this week to go, but at least now I know why I've been feeling so tired, bloated again, and extra snackish...TOM hits over a week early again! https://www.3fatchicks.com/forum/images/smile/dizzy.gif It doesn't help that I'm still struggling with proper hydration, so I'll be using my day off to catch up on my water and hope that I can release some of this water retention. That and avoiding all the salty snacking urges as much as possible, lol. Off to catch up on some homework, as well...hope you all have a great day! https://www.3fatchicks.com/forum/ima...iles/wavey.gif

Lacerta Congrats on 70 lbs down! That really is an amazing accomplishment.
Follena Have a great vacation – I can’t wait to hear all about it!
Ophelia What the heck, stupid TOM. Messing up your awesome start to the week. I hope you feel better by the weekend. I’m in the same boat except today the cramps are so bad I’m not really hungry. I gave into my snackish craving on Saturday and had Round Table pizza. It wasn’t as good as my craving made it out to be. Happy studying!

I found a dress for the party and it was perfect. Lots of compliments, way too much expensive wine, delicious food and so much fun. Only problem – I didn’t even take one photo. So now I’m going to have to find another event to get dressed up for and take pictures. Lol.

Finally cleared to start jogging again after my ACL/MCL tear 11/30/18. No surgery, hurrah! Did a slow jog last night at the gym and although it felt odd for the first two minutes, I’m happy to report no instability or pain. I will have to be very careful about increasing time/mileage but I am invested in preventing re-injury. Goal this week is 5 days at the gym (competing with friends ). Still haven’t hit the illusive 130s, but getting stronger by the day.

Had a bit of a food/wine blow out at the weekend - oh and a vanilla slice one day and a brownie the other day and some pasta - all things I wouldn't normally have but just felt like a splurge for some reason and paid the price with putting on a couple of lbs which i'm now working on losing again (looking like another big weekend ahead too....). All on track again the last two days though so hopefully I've sort of got it out of my system for a while.

SnowMama - love the new avatar. You look really different from your last one! I'll expect to see you in Joy's sister Exercise Thread to monitor your running then! Yep, you have to respect a sensible timeline in getting back to avoid injuries, but worth doing as there's nothing worse than another setback. Yay! You're back!
Lacerta - belated congratulations on the 70lb. 70lb!!!!!!!!!! You're a superstar!
Follena - have a fantastic trip, and make sure you come back to us afterwards! In fact no scales, is an average excuse - you can log in and tell us how your holiday's going!
Ophelia - the TOM really seems to impact you badly. Not fair! The important thing is that you're here though, and logging in regularly and being on track so just get through it I guess :(

New low by another tiny fraction. I'm a turtle, but I'm moving the right direction. Had a nice NSV though. My size 12 jeans fit well enough now that I started wearing them regularly (note that I STILL can't wear my size 16 shorts from college...I got them fastened, but had to lay on the bed to do it...vanity sizing is evil). Since I can also squeeze myself into my size 10s (not in public yet), I'm basically now out of goal jeans. Several sizes ago, I went and bought one of every size down to a 10. I don't own anything smaller. I don't really want to waste money on sizes I'll never fit into, so I don't know how many sizes to go get, since I still have another 40 or 50 I'd like to lose and the paper towel roll effect is a real thing. I think I'm going to get just an 8 (single digits!!!!) for now. 6 is my dream goal size and I doubt I'll ever get any smaller than that, especially since at some point, I have to lose weight off the top half of my body...70 pounds down and still wearing the same bras and the same shirts. I can wear some of my XLs now, but the XXLs still fit fine too. The bras are getting loose on the band, I wish they had another row of hooks or that I could sew. I keep trying on my next size down that I have in my closet, but so far, I still overflow the cups. One of these days, I will lose boob fat. It's a goal now.

I would say I was plateaued, but I actually am still losing, just very slowly. I think the biggest part of the slowdown is that I haven't been going for my walks at all. Between the cold and wet outside and the extra hours I was working and my not feeling good all week, I just haven't felt up to it. But that's ok with me. If I only lose 2 or 3 pounds this month, I will still have made some progress.

MrsDeenz 02-14-2019 10:31 AM

Lacerta I know exactly what you mean. I lost my first 20 because I was out walking every day but the weather has been so cold or it's snowing/raining and I haven't been as active. As long as it's coming off - even if it is coming off slowly - I'm ok with it. :)

Lacerta: I didn't really see a significant change in top sizes until the last two months. I'm not sure if it's as a result of weight loss or gym that I saw such huge drop but now I have a different set of problems - dresses that fit on the bottom are always too big on top. Just can't win. I vote for you buying size 6 jeans - I think you will surprise yourself. I buy at least one pair of Old Navy jeans per size because they generally run big, and even though I know I'm not *really* that size yet, it makes me smile to see the size on the tag. And then I get another happy kick when I actually fit in that size. :)

Day three of my five day gym challenge and I'm soooo tired. Ate dinner late too - chicken and squash - and it was kind of spicy. Probably low on water. Hopefully when TOM leaves I'll get my usual whoosh.

SnowMama: Round Table is my favorite pizza from back home...I know it's a chain, but there's no beating it for nostalgic purposes for me, lol. Love the garlic twists, too. Sorry that the expectation vs. reality didn't end up being worth it! I hate when that happens after making the decision to give in to a craving, ugh. Also, your new avatar looks great!!! :flame:

Ange: Yeah, TOM is pretty rough this month...sometimes it's nice, sometimes it's definitely not. This month is just one of the bad ones. Plus, it doesn't help that it's been making me extra snacky, either...lol. :dizzy:

Lacerta: Size 6 is my dream goal size, as well -- hopefully, we will both get there someday! :crossed: I have the opposite problem with the boob fat though, those were one of the first things to go! I feel like I'm nearly flat these days and hoping I don't lose much more with the amount I still need to lose, lol. I wish I could suck some stubborn fat out of the tummy and thighs and put it back where I want it.

ceejay52: Welcome to the thread!

Happy Valentine's Day, everyone! :val1: Still holding on to that gain and weighing in at 170 for the 3rd day in a row, which means I'm landing back at Square One this week...however, today should be my last day of TOM and I did eat some Valentine's candy after midnight last night with my husband, so I'm hoping that means I will be set for some downward movement on the scale this coming week, lol. :crossed:

Just checking in to say hi, but not much to report.

Been on track eating the last few days. Fairly excited that it's Friday but got a big weekend of music festival/dj stuff on Saturday afternoon and night, and friends staying over from interstate on Sat and Sun, and going to the football on sunday, and the outdoor movies tonight, so it's going to be off-routine for sure and I can't just skip off to the gym and have my normal veggie-fest meals for the next few days, so another weekend gain is fairly inevitable!
