haven't even been on the scales for the last couple of days, but it was a 'normal' weekend foodwise - that means I consumed a tonne more calories than I would during the week, but on a scale of 'weekends-only' it was average. Was properly asleep when the alarm went off at 0515 to go to the gym this morning - normally i'm half awake already - so perhaps a little extra nap after work this afternoon will be in order! Had visitors this weekend, went to a dj festival thing, went to football, and whooooossshhh, all of a sudden it's Monday again.
Lacerta - love hearing your running progress. Big congratulations on the 20-min effort. You're a proper runner now! I used to be a bit of a running addict for a couple of years (always slow though), but still not trusting my dodgy knee to start it again at the moment. You're making me feel tempted though! Shedmyfat - welcome! Great to hear you're getting good results and feeling good! Newlyn - good luck getting the choc legacy off again this week! Good that you've been logging it, and know the cause! :) JennyReddy - hi again!! Don't just 'hope' you can do it - commit to it! You absolutely CAN do it - and you'll feel so much better about yourself now you've started again. Say hi to Follena if you see her passing! she's in CR just now too Ceejay52 - what's your plan this week? Tell us the details :) Snowmama - awww, good luck with the BF search. How was the boarding? How's the snow right now? And what ski area are you in? I love the snow too, but i'm a skier. Not been for a couple of years but we're booked to try New Zealand in August this year. Japan's the nearest place with great snow for us. Big congratulations on fitting in to the smaller pants :exercise: |

Hello. Too late to join in? I know it's half way through Feb!
|
I'm using the calendar as my week three
17-----------197.6 18-----------194.2 a big woosh. I'm thankful Angie82much My plan this week is to follow the old Atkins plan. I've done it before and had good results. Plan for today is to have an Atkins shake for breakfast either soup or and Atkins prepared meal for lunch, a couple pieces of fruit and granola bar and an Atkins shake for dinner. I'm also going back to the gym today. The ice has kept me away Lacerta Thank you for your input. Shedmyfat Congrats on the 20 pound loss. Hello's to the rest. I'm going to have to get to know everyone |

Hello everyone I am back. Glad to see you guys doing so well. My goal for the rest of Feb is to drop 3 lbs that I gained during the holidays.
I am moving to NJ next week and starting a new job. It will be very stressful and I tend to gain a lot of weight during those transitions. So help me please. Joe |
Not a good day to start posting in this thread because I skipped exercise tonight. All about being accountable, though, so I'm putting it out there.
So I started my current journey 2 weeks ago. I've lost 5.7 pounds so far. But today was hard! Just need to keep going. I will jump in with some comments if you're all happy for me to be here. |
JenyReddy: Make sure you are getting lots of fluids to replace the water weight you might be losing. Feel better soon.
momwannabe: It's always the right day to start posting. Welcome to our group. Way to go on your loss so far. yangtzer: Welcome back. Good luck on your move. I'm now under 14 stone. |

I spotted it immediately! I think I've been losing water from a pretty salty few days. Yesterday I had my usual chicken but this time with a pile of brocoli and spelt. Vast amount of food for not many calories. |
ange, nope, I don't blame anything on "age"...except maybe trying to figure out if "now" is the time to buckle down and do this. I do not seem mentally that prepared. I do not seem to be as mentally strong, at this exact moment, as times in the past when I knew I had to knock off 10 lbs AND properly NOT resort to the crap-diet that piles it back on.
Thanks, Lacerta! |
yangtzer, I went through a BIG move in September....so, I actually was in "grief" and did not manage hardly any food and dropped 5 lbs quickly. Stress often has me NOT eating.
But, that dip did not last, obviously - when I rejoined my family, in october, I must have felt gobbly enough to forget ALL the proper rules. Which brings me to today. I can only weigh 1 x per week or it really f*cks with my mind....so, I hope to drop 1 lb per week, but even 0.5 lbs per week will keep me happy. And make me feel like I am back in control and doing the right things to dump the fat I don't want. |
CW:112.4
TW:114 All on track. I did have a bread-wrap yesterday out of choice, which is unusual since bread (or pasta or rice etc) is something I don't normally have any more unless it's awkward to avoid, so not sure where that came from. Maybe I need a few more carbs with all the extra exercise i'm doing. The last of the hot sunny days yesterday and overnight and this morning it's raining, with a cool forecast for the next few days although still not dropping under 20C (68F) at night, so can't really complain but I will..... Hummmpph. I've really enjoyed the hot sunny weather this summer. Beeps - know what you mean about needing to want it a lot mentally at the start. Hope that strength builds for you as you get going. Lacerta - congrats on the new low! Again! :) Good to see lots of people here - hi to everyone else! :rain: |
Lacerta Hooray for jogging and not feeling it the next day! I’m a fan of whatever method keeps you encouraged to continue and not so uncomfortable that you dread the next workout. Sounds like you found a good starting place, congrats on the mile.
Ceejay Wow, I miss whooshes like that! Planning meals ahead was my #1 tool for weigh loss the first 8 months. Good luck this week staying on plan. Yangtzer Congrats on the new job! Moving isn’t my favorite either. Good to see you back, you can drop those three lbs with no problem. Momwannabe 5.7 lbs in two weeks is a fantastic start. I remember the first 10 days being the hardest, and struggling a bit for a month or two. It’s all about having a good support network. You got this! Newlyn Last week was a chocolate week for me too. Not a lot, but more than usual. That plus TOM made me break out this week. :( JenyReddy One week at a time, you can make it work. Ange8 The weekends go so fast! Which festival did you go to? I really want to go see Odesza again, now that I can walk/dance. We went to Northstar in the Tahoe area and the snow was light and deep. Amazing conditions, probably close to the best I’ve seen. We usually get Sierra cement (snow) with high water content, but it’s stayed cold enough to produce low content fluffy stuff. We’ve gotten 100 inches in the last 7 days, and it snowed all day on Sunday when we were up there. I have heard awesome things about the snow in Japan and would love to check it out. Couple of high activity days have me sore and retaining water. Which is fine, because I’m having a blast just hoping for a drop before the week ends. Snow day and 6 hours in the car Sunday, 18 holes (and three beers and a burger) yesterday. My neck is feeling better. Back to the usual plan today, food-wise and gym this evening. Snowmama: Thanks. I've been too busy to do any more since, but I'm definitely going to get back on the treadmill tonight after work.
ange: I'm making up for two terrible weeks. Beeps: I WISH stress made me not eat. Stress is one of my worst triggers. The more stressed I am, the harder it is to stay on track AND the more water I retain...double whammy. Newlyn: I didn't think stones were that big a deal to me, but I've found that I enjoy reaching every milestone I can. Plus, I kind of have a long stretch with no other milestones from 197.4 (70 pounds down) to 191.4 (no longer obese). For me, 6 pounds is a long way with nothing to celebrate. So I decided to also celebrate 195.8 (new stone) and 194.6 (3rd time I've lost 10% - which is different than losing 30%, that isn't until 187). For me, those are less exciting milestones, but at least they break up the 6 pounds stretch. Week Three 15: 197.4 16: 196.8 17: 196.4 18: 196.0 19: 195.8 20: 195.2 21: ---------------------------- Total Loss for Week Three: Was not really expecting that today, but it was nice to see. After two extremely slow weeks, I'm on a bit of a roll this week. I think whatever illness I was fighting off must have made me hold on to everything, and now that I feel better, it is dropping off again. Still probably not going to make my goal for the month, but I'll be closer than I expected to be a week ago. |
