  • mothermavis: Welcome. Or rather, welcome back. I, too, came back after a long time away. I hope you do amazing.

RunningRedHead: I've been eating a lot of chicken lately too.

Follena: I had a lot of knee pain early on in my weight loss journey. I found that my kneecaps were completely bound up in the knotted muscles (I didn't even know kneecaps were supposed to move around as much as they are, Youtube is amazing). I did a lot of stretching for a while and no more knee pain at all now. Both quad stretching, where you pull your foot up to your bum, and actually manually stretching out the muscles around the kneecap with my hands, grabbing the kneecaps and sort of pushing in all 8 directions. Made a big difference. I went from "could barely walk with a limp, it hurt so bad" to "no pain at all".

I haven't posted much this month because progress has been slow, but I am ending the year on a new low, so thought that was worth updating for.

  • Red: I'd like your crack chicken slow cooker recipe!
Lacerta: thx for stretching suggestion for the knee. I'm so lazy when it comes to stretching. But it's a good habit to get into. Today I have zero pain. It snowed yesterday so I'm beginning to suspect humidity is the culprit. Congrats on the new low. What a nice way to end the year!
MotherMavis: HA! I like your username. Welcome to the thread. I like challenges not for competition but just to stay accountable to myself.

I'm feeling fat, old and ugly. Lost zero weight in a whole week. Saturday, I got a short hair cut. Then I colored it myself and it turned a little orange. So I feel like this huge orange oaf. I'm using blue shampoo to tone my hair back to a blonder shade. And for the rest, I just have to be kinder to myself. I think a nice soak in a tub with lavender and lit candles might do the trick.
  • Mothermavis: Welcome back! Best of luck

Lacerta: Way to go on your year-end low and surpassing the 60-lbs-down mark!

Follena: I use this one (https://theketoqueens.com/keto-crack-chicken-recipe/), but without the ranch packet (because sugar) and I don’t add the bacon or cheddar as I find it heavy and filling enough without them. Your plan to be kind to yourself sounds great. A week of no progress could be related to so many things, just stick with it and you’ll get moving again (I can’t say too much because I do the same thing mentally, though ).

I bumped up less than I thought I would today with it being my nap-instead-of-sleep day to get back onto a daytime schedule. Plans for today include fighting off this cold that’s coming on, take the pup for a nice, long walk with my best friend, and then a NYE party at my cousins’ new house. Happy NYE, everyone! Stay safe

    Almost there!
  • RunningRedHead: How did I miss that you got into the 220s? Congrats girl. 220s are exciting.

Follena: We all have days where we feel like that. Or at least, those of us who are human do. Sorry about the unexpected hair dye. I've never actually dyed my hair, but I know the first time my sister did it, she was going for black and it turned out green. Fun times.

    mothermavis: Nice whoosh

After a week with no change, I'm having a bit of a whoosh right now as well. Almost 3 pounds in the last 2 days, although its only a little more than a pound off my prior low, so really not that much of a whoosh.
  • Mothermavis: Wow! What a great whoosh!

Lacerta: Thanks! It was short-lived, however. I started a beginner bodyweight workout and have quite a bit of water retention going on today. Hopefully, once the body gets used to it I'll whoosh again Way to go on your whoosh!

As I mentioned above, I've got some water weight happening today. I weigh daily because I like calculating the weekly average and tracking progress that way, but sometimes the fluctuations really get to me and it's important to remind myself that this bump up was anticipated. Happy New Year to you all!!

Red: thanks for crack chicken recipe. Definitely going to make that! Hope your NYE party at cousin's was fun. And thank you so much for your kind words ... by late afternoon I was feeling so much better and even laughing about it.
Lacerta: thank you also. This is likely more information than you need but this morning I made a bathroom deposit that may have resulted in a 2 pound weight loss right on the spot!

I'm on a drug called Champix (Chantix in america) and I have felt constipated on that drug. Not to mention the nightmares as another side affect. So it's good times! ha ha

    Happy New Year everyone!
  • Follena: The crack chicken is definitely appropriately named Glad to hear you were laughing about it as the day went on. Laughter is the best medicine, so they say

That is likely the lowest I'm going to see for a bit. I'm heading into my busy week at work, where I usually just maintain AND I also started a strength training routine yesterday and the DOMS have started this morning, I expect tomorrow to be an issue. I'm actually surprised I was down at all today.

I didn't sleep well the last two nights and that definitely affects my weight loss. Yesterday I ate the last of my Hungarian Salami and swiss ementhal cheese. Today, and going forward, it's salads, salads, salads!!

At least I can say I laid off the salami and cheese. Yesterday I ate two salads. And I'm keeping up on my walking 12 blocks per day and doing stairs at work. So eventually ... weight should budge

Woo-weee, my body loves 177 and 178 this last little while. Oh well, just gonna stay OP every day. What else right? I think now I've quit smoking and eating low-carb, I'm shopping a wee bit more. Yesterday I bought an adorable skort, shorts attached underneath a mini-skirt It's almost waterproof material so will be great in Costa Rica.
  • Quick check-in for me today, but hello everyone
