  • Sorry I haven't been around as much this month. I haven't had much to say since I've been stuck for 6 weeks at the same weight, but guess what? Today I hit my first new low in about 3 weeks. I'm not going to get super excited just yet, because last month, when I hit 219.8, it was just a slight widening of my plateau and I bounced right back up. But today, I was down all the way to 218.2. That means I finally met my September goal number I set clear back in March. If I can go lower tomorrow, I'll be really excited. I am so close to 50 pounds lost...this is my week, I can feel it.

I'm too far behind on my personals to ever catch up, but I've been reading everyone's posts and am still with everyone.

Newlyn: Your last post made me literally laugh out loud. I think it was darius who made the suggestion to me before to see if the scale is actually just stuck: Try stepping on holding something heavy (a pet, or a gallon of milk, or a bag of sugar, or something), to force it to read a different number. Then weigh in normally again. See if that makes it change readings.

Snowmama: Congrats on 40 pounds lost

  • Snowmama - Yes, congrats on 40 pounds down! That's fantastic!

Lacerta - I'm so glad the scale moved. for hitting 50 pounds soon! I hold something heavy before I step on my scale almost every time now just as a preemptive strike against it being stuck.

1: 273.5 Post-TOM whoosh! Miffed that it didn't happen yesterday for my September goal, but happy that it gives me an early boost for October!
2: 273 There was obviously a bit more water to lose - my rings fit again!
    3: 272
    4: 271.5
5: 270.5 I didn't expect a loss today but there it is. Over a month it's 7 pounds, so not unreasonable, but 6.5 of those pounds have been lost in the last week. I guess that's what happens when you're sedentary for a long time and then suddenly you aren't.
    6: 271
7: 271.5 Another bump up today. Totally expected, especially as I did very little yesterday.

Total loss for Week One: -4 pounds
    .................................................. ...........................................

8: 273 Another bump! I did absolutely nothing yesterday except watch F1 and eat 2100 calories so although I know I didn't eat enough to put on 1.5 pounds, it's not a surprise. Back to university on Tuesday so all of this sitting around and eating lark will stop!
    9: 273 No change today
10: 273 I think the scale is on strike!
    11: 273 Yawn...
12: 273 How??? Go up, go down, just do something!!
13: 273 I'm being trolled by my scale...

Total loss for Week Two: +1.5 pounds
Total loss for October: -2.5 pounds
    .................................................. .................................................. .......

    14: 273.5 Yay!!! I don't care that it's gone up! It moved!

Lacerta Well done on your new low!! I had already tried that trick of holding something heavy to check the scale but it made no difference.

  • Chunkahlunkah: Thanks! I'm really ready to be in the 210s and stay out of the 220s. I really really want to reach 50 pounds down this week. I've been hovering on the edge for so long now. If you're purposely making the month a refeed month, that's ok, it can be a good thing to do that sometimes, but if not, try not to fall into the "look at what I did, now the whole month is wasted" trap. Eating more calories for a few days can be a good thing, but it doesn't have to spoil your progress for the whole month. Your average last week was great, and you really just had 3 higher days this week and your average still isn't bad (maybe at maintenance for your size? ) Still plenty of month to go.

Newlyn: Haha. Yay for movement! Maybe the scale is just gearing up for a big drop.

Total Loss for Week Two: 4.2

So this turned out to be my best week ever, if you look purely at the end number. Interestingly, two of my best weeks bookend my plateau. So if you look at the last 7 weeks, I've lost 7.6 pounds, or more than a pound a week, even though I was totally stuck for 5 of those weeks. Interesting (to me at least). Still not sure if I've broken the plateau, but at least I hung on to the 218s today.
  • FINALLY SAW SOME MOVEMENT! YASSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS

    SW: 183.4

I seriously needed this little boost to prove what I am doing is actually working. Yes, yes, yes!!!!
  • Hi Everyone,

Thanks to Cattails and Gardnerjoy for the lovely welcome.

I must have been having a dim moment when I posted on the 4th Oct. I said my weigh day would be Wednesday but had forgotten that's my long teaching day and I wouldn't have time to post

I started on the 4th at 241 pounds and today I am down to 236 pounds.

I know this will seem like rapid weight loss to the casual observer but I had WLS in June and have just started losing again after a 3 week stall. So, please don't be concerned. I came back to the 3FC forums because I wasn't sure if it was my habits that caused the stall and I wanted some accountability again.

Looks like I will meet and exceed my October goal - happy days!!!

    Thanks everyone for your support.

    Bek.

  • It's midnight right now. I can't go to sleep and am craving for food. I just had some soup, hopefully I can avoid binging by posting here.

  • flower1: Looks like you and I posted at the same time yesterday. You are so close to your goal already for the month. Way to go.

NorthernChick: Congrats on NOT GIVING UP! Glad to see you are getting some movement

Lucy: Welcome to the group. This is a great place to hold yourself accountable. As for the 5 pound loss, congrats. Everyone's journey is different.

yangtzer: Yikes. Hopefully you were able to fight off the midnight binge monster.

    Total Loss for Week Three:

Up again a bit today, but I'm still hanging on to the 218s. The next 2 weeks shouldn't be too bad at work, so I'm hoping to keep the stress load low, the hours low, and the eating on track. Supposed to be pretty nice outside this week, also, so I should be able to get some good walks in.
