Hello everyone!! I have been doing terribly lately and that is why I haven't been posting. I know exactly what I need to do but putting it into action is the part that I am struggling with.
I have binged the past 2 nights and am debating on whether or not I should try the lemonade diet again.. In the past it has worked really well for me because it has reset my taste buds and left me craving healthy foods instead of junk. I didn't weigh in today but I bet that I have gained 5 lbs. in the past 2 days which would put me at 175. I am too far behind to catch up on personals but Riestrella I am sorry to hear that you had to cancel your vacation. I hope that you feel better very soon. |
Hi Lacerta
I have never before been to an adult fitness camp. But I have thought about it for years. I wanted to go to get an idea of what an extended 1400 kcal diet feels like. I have trouble getting up and down off the floor so it would be helpful to be a little less heavy so that I could do floor exercises better, but I am trying everything. I like the aqua aerobics because it does a great job of supporting body weight and you can do a lot higher leg lifts and stretches in the water than I could ever do on dry land. Anyway I am hoping to bring back what I have learned and change my lifestyle once I return home. I haven't always been heavy. I know what to do but I wanted a kickstarter period of 3-4 weeks to start off with. I hope to succeed. |
Didn't get enough sleep last night, rest day for me.enjoy the weekend everyone:)
|
Hi kfunk I have had weeks like that :(
I hope you have a nice Sunday and a productive week :) |
Some NSV's for me this week in the exercise realm. I'm finally feeling like I actually want to crank up the exercise. This has been so long coming because all year I've felt that I should be doing more but haven't really been motivated. And at the same time my knee is just starting to be able to tolerate some proper work. Yesterday I took myself out in to a nearby national park and did 10miles of rough bush track/steps/creek crossings etc. My knee felt sore half way round but I gave it a good stretch/massage/de-knot prodding, and it felt like a new knee immediately! And I can't tell you how much easier it is to get up hills now with 44lb weight off!! It just feels amazing - like a push-bike with a secret engine would feel!! And i'm not even remotely fit, it's just that lack of gravity pushing me back that's gone - I was almost disappointed there weren't more steep hills to climb. Today the knee feels fine and no after-effects, so I really feel I can start to do more walking now (as well as crank up the cardio (spin classes) and keep going with my push-ups-challenge-plan). Very happy!

Wow, there's some serious progress going on! Lacerta, darius, Raining (and more), you are all rock stars! yangtzer, good for you with all the movement, that is progress too. Jeny, just what Lacerta said - with all the efforts you are making, you are getting healthier even if the scale doesn't show it yet - keep heart and keep going. :) kfunk, what is the lemonade diet? If it helps you gain control of your cravings, it sounds very useful.
Riestrella, I'm so sorry you've been under the weather and had to cancel your trip. Hopefully you can plan another very soon. Do you know, my original big losing streak began with being so sick that I stayed in bed for three days, only eating a few bowls of broth and noodles. When I got up, I had dropped 6 pounds! And just moved ahead from there. Here's hoping you make a quick recovery. Sunshine, I too have chronic head pain, for the past 6 years or so, and been chasing down remedies without much result. I've been wondering about hemp oil or CBD extracts; your experience is promising, except for the munchies part! Grats on the NSV. SW 8-14: 133 CW 8-18: 131 Goal for August: 130 (3 lb loss) I've gotten right back into my normal eating mode since returning from our outing and am down to 131 as of this morning, though until I see a weight consistently, I don't really take it seriously. Meanwhile, I'm enjoying having all my kids together, at least until Wednesday when my sailor son leaves again - then I'll fall apart a little, as usual. |
Gardenerjoy: congrats on a new decade - great job!
Rie: so sorry you missed your vaca - I hope you're feeling better Ange - great job with the exercise kfunk - I know you'll get back on track - don't be too hard on yourself. As for me, I haven't been doing all that great with my weight but my exercise has been going really well. Today I did a hike straight up the side of a mountain (Grouse Mountain). The sweat was just pouring off me. This hike does not level out until you get to the top of the mountain. I felt really good that I was able to do this hike as it is a difficult hike. This hike is very popular and is called the Grouse Grind and referred to as "Mother Nature's Stairmaster". There are a lot of things to do on the top of the mountain.I saw a lumberjack competition, took the chairlift, saw the grizzly habitat where there are 2 grizzly bears. The bears were playing in the water - very cute from a distance:) I decided to take the skyride back down the mountain. It was a great day. Week 3: (Aug 18-25) 18: 133.0 ---------------------------- End of Week 2: 133.0 Total Loss for Week 2: +.4 |
Darius- That is so cool that you are at a fitness camp, I have always thought that would be an awesome thing to try! Great drop last week too!!! Are you less hungry on 1400 calories, or is your body still adjusting to the new amount?
Fungirl - How was your day at the amusement park? Sunshine- What an amazing NSV, single digits in the clothing department is a terrific accomplishment!! I am in awe of the people who can get in so many steps per day, I always struggled to get more than 7000. I should probably fix my Fitbit and push myself. My sister in law suffers from migraines and swears by CBT oil. Riestrella- How are you feeling today? Joe- I hope that you were able to get a better nights sleep last night! Lacerta- You are cruising through the 220's, keep up the hard work girl!! Ange- Great job incorporating workouts into your routine!! That is awesome that they are easier now that you weigh less!! Someday I hope to be the type of person that loves working out! I think for now I keep doing what you did and focus on the diet part first and then add in workouts once I am maintaining. I am so glad that your knee was able to withstand exercising, YAY!!! cattails- Great job getting right back to your plan after your outing!! The lemonade diet is a cleanse (Master Cleanse). For 10 days you only drink water with grade B maple syrup, lemon, and cayenne pepper. There are some other components to it that I ignore. I figure since I am only doing it to reset my taste buds and not to cleanse my body, it will be okay! I have done this a few times in the past with great success and a few times where I gave up before 10 days was over. One time I did it for 25 days! I don't think its very healthy though so I wouldn't recommend it. flower- WOW, that hike sounded brutal, you must feel so good about yourself!! I bet that your legs and butt look fantastic!!! I didn't weigh myself this morning, but I did before bed last night and I did not gain as much as I thought I did. Yesterday I did much better with my eating. I ate approximately 1300 calories and will be aiming for the same today. We spent a ton of time outside in the sun yesterday, it was nice and hot! I am bummed at how fast time is going, pretty soon it is going to be freezing cold! |
Good morning everyone
Sounds like everyone is busy. I ended up ordering the gnochi in tomato sauce for dinner which I felt happy I did. But have been going out everyday this week and drinking way too much and gained back 2 lbs! My bad and I have no one to blame but myself. I hope everyone is feeling better and having a good week. Ristrella - I am so sorry that you got sick and had to miss your trip. Sending positive vibes and I hope you have a speedy recovery
Lacerta - Thank you! I like to snack on pepperoni sometimes and it makes me retain water also. I'm going to switch to turkey pepperoni and hope my body handles it better. I had a FANTASTIC time at Six Flags yesterday. My best friend and her husband and I had decided to go to Six Flags to celebrate mine and their oldest daughter's birthdays next week. They also had their 16 year old niece and their youngest daughter. We got there right when it opened and was there until it closed. I am happy yo report there was only one ride that I did not fit on but I did not let it bother me since the next ride I tried was a kiddie coaster and I fit just fine. I did not bother counting calories since I knew that this was just a day to go have fun. I did try dipping dots for the first time. What a strange but yummy snack. We walked a ton and it was hot so we sweated...a lot. It was great seeing the animals with the kids and seeing the wonder on their faces. I ran around the park with them like a teenager and my 40 year old body is definitely feeling it today, lol. I am up in weight today but I know that is from the junk and sodium yesterday. I hope to be back down to my regular weight by Wednesday or Thursday. I'm off to do my food shopping for the week. Have a great Sunday! wantochange: You're still down 2 pounds overall for the month, which is something to celebrate. Put this last week behind you and start fresh. It doesn't matter what you did yesterday, only what you choose to do today.
kfunk: Glad to hear you are back on track and not up as much as you feared. You'll be back down to new lows again in no time. Keep it up. flower: I did some of that sort of climb in college. I hope to get back to them again eventually. Right now, I'd probably pass out and roll back down the mountain. Good for you for being able to do that AND for choosing to do it Cattails: Grats on the new low ange: Way to go on that hike. That sounds like you had a lot of fun. And yes, it is amazing what difference a good stretch can make. I've found that be the case with my knees as well. They really hurt if I don't stretch properly, but if I do, then I have no pain at all. darius: Thanks for the info. I love water aerobic classes too. The only reason I haven't done more of them is because they don't limit the number of people in the class at my gym, and it is always so full that it is hard to actually do the movements, plus most of the attendees are older and get upset if you splash them or move around too much, but if you don't splash or move around, you don't get much of a workout. If I could take a class with fewer people, so I had good space, I'd have a blast. Hope the fitness camp works for you. Week Three 15: 229.0 16: 228.2 17: 227.0 18: 227.8 19: 226.6 20: 21: ---------------------------- Total Loss for Week Three: Yay, back down to another new low today. So I took off all of what I had gained yesterday plus a bit more. Here's the best part: My official weigh ins (for me) are Sundays. That's what I track for week over week changes. This week, I lost the most weight I've ever lost in a week (4.0 pounds). Even more than I did the very first week, when all the water weight falls off. Not sure why or how, but this was a GREAT week. I've been doing some reading online, and for people with PCOS, it appears that cutting a substantial amount of sugar out of the diet can help fix insulin resistance (basically reset the body's ability to process sugar correctly, like normal people do), but it can take a few months to get there, so for some people, weight loss can actually accelerate once you reach that point.. I didn't know that when I started, but coincidentally, that's the biggest change I've made, is cutting out all of the snacky foods, and thus, a lot of the sugar. I'm also eating a lot less bread and drinking a lot less milk, both of which have sugar. And it's been 5 months. So maybe that is what is happening. I really hope so. I'd love to be able to keep this rate of weight loss for a while. |
Thank you Cattails, Lacerta, kfunk for the words of encouragement and congratulations on your progress so far.
Well it did not take any time to get accustomed to 1400 kcal a day. I was surprised; I thought I would be starving around bedtime but all of the meals were very filling, and big protein servings at lunch and dinner. The big challenge for me will be continuing 1400 kcal a day after I return to NC after my 3 weeks here, but I am determined to succeed. The way the calories are set up here are: Breakfast 500 kcal, Lunch 500 kcal, Dinner 400 kcal There is a 120 kcal dessert at lunch which is part of the 500 kcal but I am on the no dessert option. Apart from this strict 1400 kcal diet there is a salad bar and soup bar and a refrigerator with snacks like small cups of greek yogurt and apples. But I do not go overboard with the salad bar and havent had any snacks since I have been here, because I am very heavy and want to make the best progress I can. I am TyII diabetic and my fasting blood sugar has gone from around 120 in the morning to between 60 and 70 so I have cut my glimeperide and metformin in half on the advice of my doctor (she told me to do this before I left NC to come to the camp in case my blood sugar started going below 70). Hi Yangtzer
For checking my blood sugar I use a Walmart "ReliOn" Prime brand small glucose monitor device, with the ReliOn Prime test strips, a bottle of 50, and GE lancet device for drawing blood from your finger each time. I check mine about 4 or 5 times a day to make sure my blood sugar isn't going too low. I am not on insulin. I am a Type II diabetic. I fainted once a couple of years ago and have gotten sick while out hiking on trails, and now I carry packs of emergency glucose gel with me when I am out exercising. This never happens to me in daily life like working or driving, it is only during periods of heavy physical exertion. And I have not gotten dizzy here at the Tennessee Fitness Spa because I am eating structured meals 3 times a day so my blood sugar never bonks. |
Today I reached my goal for this month :)

gardenerjoy: good job staying in the 99s
yangtzer: I'm not actually going low carb. I was just so high carb before that I've cut a lot of them out to try to balance my micronutrients. I still drink milk, but I've gone from drinking 3 gallons a week, down to a little over 1 gallon a week (that cut a lot of sugar right there). I still eat yogurt and cheese, definitely didn't cut out all dairy. I still eat bread, but I've gone from eating more than a loaf a week, down to about 1/3 of a loaf, mostly toasted. And almost all sweets cut completely, but I still have a square of chocolate (about the size of a Kiss) if I crave something sweet. I definitely still have a couple of potatoes a week. So not low carb, just substantially lowER carb and lower dairy than I was before. I also cut almost all salty snacks, like crackers, chips and pretzels. I still have a few chips on my tuna fish sandwich though. I like the crunch and can't stand pickles. darius: Sounds like you have your ducks in a row and are getting good successes. Keep it up. Unwanted37pounds: Congratulations on reaching your goal for the month. You are almost down to your final goal. Very exciting. Fungirl: Glad you got to have a good time and were able to keep up and participate. And I see the sodium weight is already almost gone. Very nice. Week Three 13: 184.6 lbs 14: 183.9 lbs 15: 185.2 lbs 16: 183.2 lbs 17: 181.9 lbs *sick 18: 183.2 lbs 19: 183.8 lbs ---------------------------------- Avg Weight for Week Three: 183.6 lbs Total Loss for Week Three: 1.4 lbs August Starting Weight: 185.3 lbs Current Weight: 183.6 lbs Total August Loss: 1.7 lbs All that weight loss is definitely thanks to the stomach bug I got, causing that huge drop on the Friday, so while it's nice to see the weight loss I know not to celebrate prematurely. I've been feeling the onset of a cold coming on in the last couple of days, which is perfect timing after the stomach bug! I'm AWFUL when it comes to colds, because I just eat crap since I feel constantly hungry and also bored while I'm trying to rest. Anyway, week four isn't starting out so pretty, because I've been inactive all weekend due to sickness + eating junk because it was just easy and at hand. This morning I weighed 184.8 lbs, which is not surprising. Yesterday I had toast, a peanut butter sandwich, a slice of Costco pizza that was delivered to me, some Japanese candies and tofu stir fry. A lot of food needless to say, 4 slices of bread AND pizza AND rice - too many grains! Not to mention the grease/fat factor of the pizza slice. Anyway, I'm going to try and reset myself a bit even though I'm feeling crappy today as well. I won't be working out today, since I still feel head-coldy, but I'm not going to have more than 2 slices of bread. On a personal note I was so relieved I didn't push myself to go on the trip, because I was super weak all weekend. I also told the friend who I was going to be surprising what we had planned and she said she was glad I didn't come because she didn't do much over the weekend. She said that when I visit she wants to make it special and plan it so we can visit loads of places, so even though she would have loved the surprise she would prefer it if we planned it together next time! That was a huge relief to hear since I felt so guilty about cancelling. kfunk - Honestly? I wouldn't try a diet to fix your weight loss problems. Weight loss is a lifestyle change, the reason it's hard is because we've got to change sometimes years of bad habits. While diets are great for weight loss and can definitely reset our eating habits, it won't be long before those psychological reasons why we overeat come back. Really think about why it is you were binge eating and go from there I say  If you ever need help figuring that out reach out and I will listen and help! Thank you for asking me how I'm doing, I appreciate it! We're opposites, I'm going to embrace the cold with open arms! Cattails - I hope you enjoyed your time with your family, saying goodbye is always tough especially when you know it'll be a while before you'll see them again. Congrats on the loss! yangzter - It was to visit a friend in New Jersey. We were going to surprise her! Fungirl - You know I used to love theme parks but the older I get the more I think "nope!" lacerta and unwanted37 - congrats on meeting your goal this month!
Yangster: Yes, there is public transportation to Grouse Mountain. From the airport you would have to take the skytrain to downtown Vancouver to the end of the line at Waterfront Station. From there you would take the Seabus across the water (about 10 min) to Lonsdale Quay in North Vancouver and then a bus from the Quay to the bottom of Grouse Mountain (about 1/2 hr ride). You can only get to the top of the mountain by taking the skyride (gondola) or hiking to the top on one of 2 trails. One of the trails is the famous Grouse Grind and the other is called the BCMC. You are not allowed to hike down the Grouse Grind but you can hike down the BCMC. Some people hike up the Grouse Grind and then hike down the BCMC or take the skyride down. It takes about one and a half hours to two and half hours to hike either of the two trails. You can get your hike timed on the Grind but not on BCMC. If you take a look at the website for Grouse Mountain you will see that they record the best times. The Grouse Grind is usually open from May to about the end of September. In the winter you can ski or snow shoe on the mountain. The mountain is open all year long but you can only hike from about May to September |
I have been studying for the last few days and I decided to make a cake. It’s been almost 3 months since I have baked. I make a coconut pineapple cake. It was so good. I used applesauce in place of the oil and for the frosting I used cool whip topping, mixed with sugar free vanilla pudding. So it wasn’t too bad. Lol
No I did not order a digital/smart scale. I ordered an manual scale with a big dial. I’m over the batteries always needing to be switched out. I have scheduled an appointment for a Rolfing massage. 3 weeks was the soonest opening. Hoping this will help with the chronic headaches. The Hemp oil works. Within 30 minutes, I can feel the pressure easing up. I’m taking 250 mg, seems to work for about 3-4 hours and then I take it again. However, I want to find the root of the problem and correct it, if possible. |

Riestrella- Oh no, that's not fair that you are coming down with a cold after just recovering from a stomach bug. I hope that the cold passes quickly. How did your food intake go yesterday? I would love a listening ear from someone who understands!! I have often thought about why I have such a hard time with food and I can not come up with a reason. I remember overeating from a very early age, and I would often hide the wrappers and all evidence. When I was younger I overate because I liked the taste so much that I wanted more, but then in my late teens I started binging. I get so frustrated because I wonder why I have this problem.
joe- maybe not all schools are back yet? Hopefully the crowds will disperse soon! sunshine- great job making healthier substitutions with your cake, that sounds yummy! kfunk: Nice drop today. I wish I had answers for you. But sending you :hugs:
Fungirl: Nice drop for you today too. The trip bump is all gone and took friends with it, I see. Sunshine: Is there any pattern to when you get the headaches? I used to get migraines hormonally, related to my cycle, and I also get them if I eat any sort of sugar substitute (Aspertame, Saccharin, etc). I know other people who get headaches with certain types of food. Or if you've recently cut back on caffeine, they could be withdrawal headaches. My mom gets them when the barometric pressure is changing. I'd try keeping a journal of when you have them and then see if you can find any connections. Riestrella: Ugh, hope your cold is mild and doesn't stay long. I have the same problem when I get sick, most of the time. I eat anything and everything. Every now and then, when I get sick, though, I don't want to eat anything at all. Never have figured out why it is sometimes one and sometimes the other. Usually, I eat all the snacks in the house when I'm sick. Popsicle are my favorite when I'm sick, and at least they have the side benefit of helping me stay hydrated. It was a great week, and I have to have a stall day in the mix sometimes. |
Yesterday didn't go quite as I'd hoped, I ended up starting the day with toast then having a PB sandwich for lunch as well. I also had a little snack attack on tortilla chips because I was craving some salt. However I think it goes to show just how much I was snacking/eating in the last few days because I lost weight this morning, down to 183.9 lbs, almost a 1 lb drop. It seems my body wants to level out in the 183's, which is great because I feel like the 183's mean progress?! It's weird how we can latch on to a certain range in weight like that!
I'm noticing on the days where I eat toast for breakfast I feel awful later in the morning. Almost like I'm nauseous but also extremely run down. It's just not nutritious enough to start my day, so I'm going to remember that whenever I crave it. Another "meal" that I had growing up that I haven't been able to shake, just like the PB sandwiches! Which will take a lot longer to ditch since I love them so much, haha. Baby steps!! This morning I had oatmeal with soy milk, since I wanted to cut down on my dairy intake as well. Definitely doesn't taste as good as with regular milk, but I'm determined to get used to it. I used to have soy milk in my oatmeal and dealt with it just fine. Tomorrow I'm going to work out, it is decided! I've been inactive for 1 whole week, so I'm sure that I'll see a little gain this week since my muscles will probably protest. Having said that, I'm actually quite happy that my weight hasn't shot back up to 187 lbs. As you can tell, I'm in a weird state of mind where I'm coming to terms with my efforts are actually working! I may be losing weight at a snails pace, but I'm losing it nevertheless and that's something I should feel great about :) Week Four 20: 184.8 lbs 21: 183.9 lbs 22: 23: 24: 25: 26: ---------------------------------- Avg Weight for Week Three: 183.6 lbs Avg Weight for Week Four: 184.3 lbs Total Loss for Week Four: - 0.7 lbs

Food can also be a form of control in our lives. If you ever feel like you're out of control of other aspects, eating can be a way to take that control back. Sometimes people channel that into healthy eating, but sometimes it can be the opposite, eating unhealthy is a way to take control over something in our lives to give us a release. I know someone who is vegan mainly because she wants to have something in her life that she and she alone has control over. Perhaps overweight people are the same way, eating unhealthily is almost like a way of saying "I'm unhappy with these aspects of my life, but for this moment when this food is in my life, I'm in control of my happiness." To me, eating can be a very comforting act, and junk food releases chemicals in our brains that give a certain (albeit short) rush of pleasure. It's kind of like an addiction in a way, because when I see certain foods (chips, chocolate, soda) I immediately want them. I know that they're bad for me, I know that they're not nutritious, but it's like recovering from any addiction - sometimes it's easy to relapse, especially if you go cold turkey. I'm someone who believes in taking small, manageable steps towards a goal. Which is why I'm not rushing to quit bread altogether, because I know that will only make me want it more. I need to work on other areas in my life, take control, then slowly get rid of my bad habits. Unfortunately I'm not a professional, so I'm not sure why you binge eat, but I'm sure with enough reflection then you can figure it out. If it's a super personal topic, feel free to PM me if you want! Lacerta - Thankfully the cold seems to be dissipating! I tend to not want to eat if I have any sort of stomach problem, but any other sickness is gonna make me want to eat everything in sight! |
Walked 3 miles with my dumbbell today.

I believe my headaches are from an old (23years) injury, the weather definitely plays a part in it. I was Diagnosed with migraines as a young teen. But this is a constant headache. It eases up at times. I hate going to the doctor because they just want to give me pain pills and I don’t want to mask the problem. The Rolfing massage help me about 8 years ago. I was in so much pain, I almost gave in & was going to get a pain pump. I did 9 Rolfing treatments and I was out of pain! So, I’m hoping this will help me again.
Riestrella, I take Elderberry Extract when I get sick. It usually cures the sickness in a day or 2. I get it from the Health food store. Make sure it is not mixed with sweeteners. I do a tablespoon every 2 hours& wash it down with water. It taste like a VERY tart cherry and a earthly taste. I know it’s the last thing I want to taste when I’m sick! Someone had committed on me fitting in a size 8 & they didn’t think they would ever be in the single digits (sorry, I couldn’t find the post on it, to get your name). Anyways... I use to be a size 22w. I NEVER thought I would be a size 8 either but it happened! So don’t give up. :) |
Lacerta- Thank you!
Riestrella- Nice drop!! I love toast with peanut butter, it is so good, but 2 pieces isn't enough to keep me satisfied. Hopefully you feel better mid morning without it. That is so true about sugar increasing cravings. I also notice that when I don't feel good I want to "fix" it by eating and then I usually end up feeling worse, its a vicious cycle. Quote:
Joe- nice workout!! Darius- The fitness camp is doing you good, that is one heck of a drop!!! Sunshine- I agree with you about most doctors prescribing medication instead of finding the root problem, which is frustrating. What is a Rolfing massage? Yesterday made 4 good days in a row for me! I can tell that my cravings for bad foods are getting much weaker! I even turned down soft serve icecream last night. SW: 170.9 GW: 161.9 8/8 - 170.9 8/20- 168.5 8/21- 167.2 8/22- 166.7 |

kfunk: Good to see you continuing to do better. I'm a peanut butter on toast person too. I eat that, with some cheddar cheese and an apple a few times a week as a meal. They go surprisingly well together. I tried eating an apple after having a tuna fish sandwich yesterday...they did NOT go as well together.
Sunshine: That was me who commented on the size 8. That's good to hear. I started out at a 18W, but should have been in a 20W. I'm down to a 16 regular now. I suppose with the vanity sizing, I could eventually get to an 8. The reason i said what I did is because I was a very healthy weight in high school and starting college and I believe I was a 12 then. I really am just big boned and big boobed. So being smaller than a 12 seems unlikely. But a 12 that many years ago probably IS an 8 today. So maybe I will get there. Week Four 22: 225.8 23: 24: 25: 26: 27: 28: ---------------------------- Total Loss for Week Four: Not a big loss to start out week 4, but I'll take even a small one. I seem to have hit a plateau the last 3 days. Hope it is just a small one. I've done this pattern before too, where I plateau for 3 or 4 days and then drop weight really fast again before plateauing for a few days again. Hopefully, I get a drop again before the weekend. |
A bit of a gain this morning, I think mainly because I didn't hydrate yesterday. I had a little lapse with food, instead of being patient and waiting for rice to cook (about 30 minutes in our old rice cooker) I had chips and salsa, which pushed back my dinner by a couple of hours. Usually in those moments I'd eat a piece of fruit but we're in desperate need of a food shop, which is happening today! I also need to do laundry that has piled up after being sick last week :(
In other news, I'm almost done with my painting by numbers! Unfortunately, my initial worries were correct, it is a knock off. I found a youtube video of someone doing the same design and some of the colors are different + the real one includes a lot more detail in the face. I'm a bit disappointed, however I got it for free after an Amazon delivery blunder (it was reported as failed to deliver so I got my money back!) so I don't feel quite so bad. I said to the bf that one day I'll just buy the real thing and do it all over again! It still looks ok, but I would still prefer the original one day since it's such a cool pic! I've already picked out my next one from a reputable website, excited to get started on another. It's nice having a hobby that takes me away from screens! Your yo-yo dieting could very well be a factor behind your bad eating habits. I haven't successfully been on a diet, because my brain will immediately want everything that I'm forbidden to have. Perhaps subconsciously you are the same way? The restrictions might become too much to handle and you feel yourself losing control and the minute that you snap from the pressure of sticking to a diet that's when the binge eating begins? I'm just thinking out loud here, I hope I don't offend you and please correct me if I'm wrong! I'm putting myself in your shoes and thinking what I would do in that position and I know diets simply do not work for me. I basically researched what healthy eating is and try to slowly incorporate that into my life rather than following a plan/guide. I need to make my own independent decisions to eat healthily, I feel like a diet is too much like someone telling me what to eat and when to eat, that I don't feel like I'm in control of my own health. fungirl - I'm the same way, especially when it comes to hormones. Once a month I get the urge to devour everything and eat junk, it's really hard for me to remain calm and ignore those cravings! But I know I need to learn and channel that into something that doesn't relate to food. It's a process, that's for sure! |
