ange - I'm glad the scales returned to meeting expectations. Wine and occasional bread sound like fantastic additions upon maintenance.

kfunk - The party went really well. There ended up being no rain, so we spent the whole time outdoors. I had a grilled chicken sandwich and some fruit salad. That was more than enough. The heat really kills my appetite. I'm wishing us both luck for hitting new lows soon! Oh no, I'm so sorry to hear that you had a reaction after the watermelon too.

Slimmer me - Welcome to the thread and good luck with that significant milestone!

Kfunk - Thank you for this thread. Losing another 20 is a stretch for me, but I sure would be happy if I can do it. I will put my 20# goal at 140 by October 2018.

I will follow and cheer everyone on, celebrate successes, loudly boo set backs, and try to keep my eyes on my own 20# ball this summer.

Ange- your plan sounds really good. It will be nice to enjoy some wine more often!! I think that I plan on doing the same thing when I get to goal; same wholesome foods, just bigger portions.

Slimmerme- welcome!! At 144 I will be “normal” too!!!

Lunkah- I am glad that the party went well for you and that you were rewarded for your effort on the scale!!! Go you!! About the watermelon, WTF is up with my body?!

NightowlRN- Welcome!! I love your “loudly boo setbacks”!!

This weekend was MUCH better than the typical holiday weekend for me. I am up 3.8 lbs. but I think with extra water intake that will come back down pretty quick. I am 1 week out from my TOM so that also may explain some of the gain. Last night I ate a bunch of pizza and then had desert but today is back on track!

to the thread, nightowlrn! How's biking going? Do you live somewhere with a climate that's conducive to biking year round? I have a cruiser that I love. Your avatar reminded me that I enjoy biking but have been neglecting it.

kfunk - Congrats on the drop into new territory! That's awesome!

Well done on the drop, nicoley!

I'm on the edge of a new decade and am eager to get there. I've hit 140.0 as my low many times for a very long time. I'm so beyond ready to kiss the 140s goodbye forever! My stay in this decade has been interminable, but that's been due to my on-and-off approach to weight loss. I'll be "on" for at least the next two months, and I'm aiming to drop as close to 10 pounds in that time frame as I can get. After that, I'll be moving and starting my PhD program. I'll be ok with a slower rate of losing as I adjust to that. But c'mon -10 pounds by Aug 7th!

New low and new decade!! I'm finally, finally, FINALLY in the 130s! I haven't seen this decade since 2015 when I was ascending it. It feels much better this time around dropping down it!

Part of this loss is probably dehydration, but I still am thrilled to finally see a 3 in the tens spot.

Thank you, Ange! My usual weight as an adult has been 115-120, although my norm was 107-109 for a few years when I had a very active job. My goal now is to get to around 120 and then start a recomp. My immediate goal is to get to 130 this summer before my semester starts in August. (I'm at 139 now.) I think if I stay active and limit my weekend indulgences, I'll be able to meet that or get very close.

I saw your plan to stay in diet mode for work travel. I think that's a great idea! I wish I were with you in South Africa btw. I've never been, but my ex spent some time there on several visits. It's one of his favorite places.

Nicoley- Nice drop!!

Lunkah- Congrats on getting into the 130’s, that must feel AMAZING!!!! Cue the dancing bananas…. How did this last weekend go, I am guessing pretty well based on your new numbers?

ange I hope that your plan is working well during your work trip!!

I was down to 157 late last week and then had 1 “off plan” day and I shot right back up, but I hope as the week goes on I will see the 157’s again!

Hey kfunk, I feel your pain with the water retention bump. I'm prone to that too, and those bumps take days to leave me. Hang in there! You'll be back in the 157's and beyond soon! You might even be building up some fat loss in the meantime, so when that water retention mask finally drops, you might be greeted with a whoosh! This weekend went well. Some of it was fate helping me out. On Sunday, I went on a road trip with a friend. We were supposed to get ice cream at his favorite place, but the business had changed into something else (he hadn't been there in a while). Then we tried a great ice cream place closer to home, but the line was ridiculous, so we passed on that. I ended up going to the store instead to get some ice cream, but that long waiting period had allowed cooler heads to prevail. Rather than picking up something indulgently high-calorie, I went with a box of Yasso bars. Have you had those? They're frozen Greek yogurt bars. I've gotten them a few times and am a fan. So yeah, I can't take full credit for that good choice. The universe helped me out! I didn't keep my Saturday night socializing low-cal but I didn't go off the rails either. I'd estimate that I ate at maintenance that day or within 200 calories above it. I'm fine with that level, just don't want to eat 500+ calories over. What's helping me is being more active. It gives me a buffer of extra calories, and it also reduces my appetite a little. Lately I've been making an effort to keep my carbs moderately low a few days a week, and that's been a big help too. Finally hitting a new low and decade is helping me have faith that this final 20 is within reach!

hi all

just checking in from my trip to say all on plan at the moment. I've had good brekkies and slightly too much for lunches, but no dinners, twice, so far. Been hungry in a morning before brekkie and then really enjoyed a buffet brekkie, so my guess is that i'm maintaining so far. No exercise really, but the next 3 days i'll be in the lab all day stood up and moving around, so that's better than sitting in an office chair or car at least.

sending lots of positive motivation and good vibes to everyone - have a strong week, and feel good about it

Lunkah- Thank you for making me feel better!! GREAT job with your choice at the grocery store, I love that the universe helped you out prior to shopping! I will have to check out the Yasso bars, they are only 3-5 points depending on the flavor. I have been really enjoying the Outshine fruit bars, they are 3 points and delicious! You are doing so well!!! Great job on Saturday night too!!

Ange- Great job so far!!!

Unwanted- Whats the plan for the final 27 lbs?

I have been doing well since my "free day". SLOWLY coming back down. I will say that I have made loads of progress though because before I wouldn't be able to get back to my plan so quickly after a day of indulging!

kfunk - Outshine bars are so good. I buy those regularly. Well done on getting back to plan so quickly! That skill will serve you well in maintenance!

Unwanted 37!

Great job on your trip, ange!
