I had to weight in twice to see if it was really true. I never thought it possible to lose almost 2 kgs in one day. Truth to be told my weight had stalled about a week before that so I was ready for a whoosh, but not of this sort. Even half of it would had been amazing! So yes, my frist fast day was great. I'm fully prepared for the scales to go up now as this is likely not sustainable, but still, it was lovely to see the number this morning and hope to see it again very soon
Ronja: Let me know how it goes! I currently do the softer approach of intermittent fasting of 16:8 in day, but I have heard great things about the 5:2. I've thought about looking into trying it to shake things up a bit, but I think I need to wait until my willpower is a little stronger...lol. Looking forward to seeing your results!
I think it largely depends on your current diet. I have been doing primal for over a month now and they say fasting is easy when you're on primal/paleo/super low carb diet. For me, that's absolutely true. I expected headaches, dizzines, tiredness, but nothing of it happened. I ate nothing all day and then had salmon with green salad for dinner. I felt hunger, but I wasn't ravenous and it was all very managable, so I'm hoping to do it twice a week now and very ready to see the results!
My nice swoosh yesterday was a lie but that's ok I'll keep going harder. Friday is practically all day temptation for me, breakfast out with hubby, pizza and wing night with the kids. I did stay vl carb but too much of it and loads of fat. Just loads. Plus salt on top of salt. Going to try to do a near fast today and get back there.

Ronja wow! Fasting seems to work for you!!! May I ask where you are from? I am living in Portugal now and so slowly getting used to KGs. Originally from the UK so naturally use lbs and stones, but this site has got me well intune with lbs!! Think I like them because they go down more quickly ha ha
nightsnacker Two positives stand out to me, one, you know what has caused the increase and two, you are determined to keep going, well done!
Erm..... now my sieve brain comes into play and I can't remember who said what on the previous page....!
I hope everyone has a lovely weekend!
I weighed in first thing this morning and was 0.8 down, had an early start at work so only having chance to log now. Now about to plan meals for the week and do some cooking. I have realised I spend way too much time thinking about food recently, but it is better than spending the time eating it I guess!

Better than expected for having Chinese last night. I have another challenging night tonight. It's my niece's 18th birthday and I'm not sure what my family is planning for food. I know there will be cake and ice cream. I've been craving cake for quite some time now. I have all the ingredients at home and I can't tell you how many nights I've wanted to make myself a whole cake. That means tonight I can have a small slice and enjoy it. I won't more than a small slice though since my sister will be making it and she always uses canned frosting. I grew up with homemade buttercream and I know how to make it really well. Unfortunately my sister never got the hang of it. But at least that makes it easier to resist eating too much! Now I'm off to hit the gym and get in a workout before I have to head out and go by her gift.
Forgot to post here earlier and got busy...no time for personals still, but still wanted to pop in really quick to make my post before I forget again, lol. Weigh-in was 270.4 today. I hit my goal of 20 (8 oz) servings of water yesterday for the first time since coming back, so I think that helped flush back out whatever yesterday was about. Going to try to hit 20 again today to see what happens. See you ladies tomorrow!

I'm in for the month! I will not be weighing in daily right now though. I am half way through the Whole30 Challenge and won't be weighing in again until I finish February 15th. I did sneak a peak at the scale on February 1st and was down nearly ten pounds.
My goal for February is to lose ten pounds.
SW: 288.4
GW: 278.4
takingcontrol I think at least half of it will be back tommorow but it's still good, even if it's so. I'm in the Czech Republic, so I'm all lost when it comes to pounds. I often have to Google a lbs/kgs convertor when I read about people's weights, plans etc. But I do agree, lbs seem to come off much more quickly
Ronja I spent 10 years living in Asia until last August so am very excited to have a whole 'new' continent to visit now. I have Berlin and Bucharest on the cards for later this month, and then a heap of other new cities and countries to follow of which CZ is definitely one! I hope you are still pleased with your number this morning!
Econ_nerd What is your challenge? Good luck!
Ophelia Yay to water helping you out. I hope things calm down for you soon.
[B]LovelyLeah/B] I hope you enjoyed the party, and the cake!
After breakfast I am cooking a big pot of soup for lunches next week, then I am going on a walk to the other side of town, should take about an hour and include some impressive hills. This afternoon there will be more cooking for next week to keep me organised and on track and then later I will probably go out and buy some heavier dumbbells so I can really make progress on my home strength training.
Have a great Sunday everyone!

GardenerJoy I've been reading the book Drop Dead Healthy that you mentioned in your goal story. Hillarious, but very informative.
I had a big woosh today and weighed in at 146.4! Hopefully it will stick, as I'm working hard at getting below 145. This challenge is making me stick to my eating plan. I would have joined the 21 Day exercise challenge, but I'm getting over a bad cold. One day I'll have a ton of energy and the next day I just want to lay down.
Next Goal - 149 by Feb 6th - Met Feb 3rd

econ nerd: Yay, I'm glad to see you here...WELCOME!
takingcontrol: You're doing awesome! Cooking ahead and getting in awesome walks like that is sure to do great things for your plan...keep up the hard work! It's been chilly here this week, but I think I will buckle down and go out for a long walk tonight, too.
Ronja: That's still a great drop overall...it looks like your body really responded well to having a break in digestion. And, I hope tomorrow's fast goes just as smoothly as your last one!
Sperrigo: Congrats on the whoosh! Those are my favorite, lol.
unwanted37lbs: Welcome!

Weigh-in was 269.6 today, which was a relief. I was sick to death of seeing that 7 after the 2...ugh. Not sure if it will stick by tomorrow morning, but I'm going to enjoy it for now! Haha. I didn't quite hit my 20 glasses of water goal, but I got 16 servings in. Going to keep my goal of trying to hit 20 for today, because I'm thinking that has been what has made the difference in getting past my little yo-yo plateau over the last week or two. We shall see!
