I will be on vacation for the next 3 weeks, I try to check in when I can. And I try to make healthy choices along the way.

Guess those plans are working, cause I lost that pound plus another pound and 1/2. A few more days till checkin, maybe I can lose that 1/2 pound.

Riestrella, You should be at your new place today, how exciting. Hope everything is going without a hitch.

Hoping everyone has a great Memorial Weekend (with out over eating).

Hi all,

I just got back from a bittersweet two weeks with my siblings that had us clearing out our childhood home, selling it and closing my parents' estate. Next to losing them, it's been the hardest and most emotional thing I've been through. At the same time, I feel like the release of their stuff and the house has lifted a lot of the anxiety and emotions I've been carrying around since mom passed in 2001. Dad passed in February 2015. I'm still very sad but there is peace as well. I wonder if any of this has had anything to do with not being able to wrap my head around weight loss. Just thinking out loud.

Looks like many here are having a very successful pre-summer challenge. Right on Here's to summer slim down

A wonderful Friday to all! Have a safe and fun Memorial Day weekend

Hey guys! So I'm here in Decatur, GA in my new home. The drive here from Colorado was intense, but we made it without incidents. I listened to a whole podcast series called Serial, have you guys heard it? It's pretty good!

We arrived on Thursday and we've been arranging our new apartment ever since. One thing that has really annoyed/upset me - there's a huge freaking tree right outside our living room window that blocks out all the light. We saw a different model, but went for this one since we didn't want a fireplace but couldn't look at it because it wasn't available. We should've asked more questions, so now we have a very dark apartment. I've asked to see if they'd be willing to trim the upper branches down or at least let us arrange for it to be trimmed. I work from home, so I'm super bummed out that I'll be working in a dark apartment. The apartment itself is perfect, but our main living area is dark so I'll have to keep all the lights on in the day time. Fingers crossed they're willing to do something about it, it would be such a simple solution to just prune it down a bit!

I am getting more used to it, but whenever I go into the bedroom I see how much light that room gets and it really angers me that we ended up with an apartment with a giant tree outside the window! Who ever thought that would be a good idea?! I keep going back and forth between trying to deal with it and getting angry, right now I feel the rage! But a few hours from now I might feel ok. Really wanted a nice sunlit apartment this time around!!

On the positive side, it will be easier to cool, in the GA heat!

I am dropping out of the challenge as my dietitian has taken away my scale privileges. I'm only allowed to weigh in once a month....at least for the next 3 months.

Riestrella,
Happy to hear to have arrived with a smooth transition. I would just tell them why you want the tree trimmed, especially if you are able/willing to chip in on trimming fees. Make sure to say how it you work at home and it impacts you emotionally. Say, there seems to be a wierd entry for The Baking Mom, cause NO ONE can loose that much weight in three weeks. My guess is that skittlesfirehawk accidentally entered her weight in the wrong column and didn't notice, or we have a prangster? Please check it out, Thanks.

Hey everyone!

First of all, I owe people some personals. Sorry for the delay, it's been a busy almost-week.

Rosinante - Glad your holiday was nice! Congrats on 4 lbs down, that's amazing! You'll be back on track in no time.

chocolate cheesecake - Be sure to post a note in your cell on the spreadsheet if you don't weigh in for more than 2 weeks! . Good luck with all the outings!

curvynotlumpy - I can't imagine the sadness you must feel, we all will be in your shoes someday and it's painful to even think about, but I'm glad to hear that you've found some bittersweet relief in the process.

JB - Very true! Our bedroom does get hot due to direct sunlight, but still working from home in the dark isn't ideal! I know, I should just accept it Sorry to hear you have to drop out, good luck with the next step in your journey. Feel free to continue to post here for support regardless!

workinglikeadog - Thanks for your feedback, it really isn't too much to ask to trim a tree I'd imagine! No word yet, I'll have to start gently pressing the issue. Thanks for pointing out the error, I think it was Skittles who accidentally posted it.

Phew! Now time for an update if you'll be so kind to hang in there . So things with me are going fine. Things are started to feel like home for me at last. Even the tree situation isn't bothering me as much (though I do still feel twinges of annoyance!). We are now completely unpacked, all art that we have is up on the walls and all our belongings have a home. It's a great feeling! We're so happy to have a place that's ours, where we can decorate it how we want it. BF's parents house felt so clinical and orderly, it looked like something from a home catalog, which is nice and all but just not our style. We like orderly chaos. We did a trip to IKEA and bought furniture, we survived building said furniture together which was a true test to our relationship! I'm now covered in very strange bruises that I don't know how I got.

Now onto WEIGHT LOSS...you know...the reason I'm here >_>. Yeah, not so great. 169 lbs this morning. So here are my excuses: on the road diet consisted of Subway, snacks and huge meals at the end of a long driving day. Arriving in new home and not having any kitchen items meant no cooking but eating out. Once we did a big food shop and kitchen supply shop (ouch...our savings are taking a huge hit...) I was able to start cooking again yay! Only there are an abundance of treats around left over from the road trip and with the constant arranging of household items I've not been hydrating. So...yeah...a baaad week for me in terms of trying to stay healthy.

BUT. Now that we're finally finished with unpacking and the place is feeling homey I'm definitely feeling the urge to create a healthy routine for myself! I already meal planned before I came here so that's one thing taken care of, now I just have to - you know - follow it. Easier said than done, apparently. However, completely possible, so I need to kick myself up the bum and get to work. Thankfully I still have a work project from Colorado that I can work on, so I think having something familiar in my life to do will help with my routine.

Hey all, hope everyone is well.
I am kinda MIA not that I am a big poster anyway, but I am back at work now from maternity leave and its awful, I am really struggling with weight loss (even gaining) because although I am eating well (at least not awfully) lots of salads and fruit and vegetables, no real processed foods...I am eating at 530am, 1030am, 4pm (this is lunch during my shift) and then 830pm i have my tea (yep us english folk in the north east call dinner...tea!) I know for a fact that it is the altered pattern that is wrecking havoc with me. Any ideas???? stupid 13hour shifts

Anyway... Rie glad you are settling in, hope the weather is awsome!
to all
