Hi,
chickies and roosters!

Sorry I've been AWOL! I'm just really busy right now and I need to get up earlier in the mornings to come online and I haven't been good about that lately! I am staying on plan as far as the types of foods I've been eating, I'm keeping with the slow-carb diet, but hormones have been giving me fits and I have been overeating compared to what I normally eat. After not having TOM for a month and a half, I'm now in my 2nd week of TOM (such joy to be 52, lol)! I have craved chocolate and sweets like crazy for two weeks now. I made the decision to stick to my diet foods though and only cheat on Saturdays but it's been a struggle, and as a result, I have fallen into the pitfall so many dieters fall into--I am overeating on allowed foods in an effort to curb cravings, and it's not working! The alternative is to go ahead and eat what I'm craving but because I am carb-sensitive, I really don't think that's a good idea. I already push it with cheat day once a week. I'm afraid if I stepped outside the carb bounds that I've set for myself, I would just overeat on sweets instead of other foods and that would cause me to fall deeply back into the high-carb cycle. However, excess calories, no matter the type, cause weight gain, so either way, I'm not losing weight right now. Instead of chocolate, I've been turning to nuts, too many nuts, and at meals, instead of having one serving of meat. etc., I've sometimes had seconds. I'm hoping once TOM ends, whenever that may be, my appetite will go back to normal. I haven't been on the scale in the last few days. I was going back and forth between 170-172 before that. I wasn't going to weigh again until TOM ended, but I was just too curious as I started typing this, so a few minutes ago, I went and weighed. And at midday today, after overeating for the last few days, and eating and drinking this morning, and being completely bloated up with TOM, I weigh 173.5. I have to admit, I expected worse! I'll weigh again tomorrow morning. Hopefully it will be down a little bit, because tomorrow is cheat day and you can bet, I'll be eating mint chocolate, lol!
Joy, thank you again! You are so thoughtful!
