Hi BFR happy new year! DH and if have had the same experience with taste, we have cut way back on sugar, processed foods and fast burning carbs (mostly cut way back on breads). We attribute it to cutting back on sugars, not a scientist so really not sure what does it, but even ketchup tastes sweeter. Seems like when cutting back on things your taste buds don't get overloaded. The good news is the good stuff tastes better, too :D
Congrats, you're doing great!! |
Okay the new year has officially started!!! Goodbye holiday binge eating and drinking! Hello exercise and good wholesome foods!
SW - 159 (not really sure because I have a house full of sleeping teenagers and could not get to the upstairs bathroom to weigh in). Going with this weight because I did have a few cocktails and they always pack on a few pounds until the water weight goes away. GW - 153 or less Rooster - I know how scary some of those trigger foods can be. Things seem to spiral out of control. But, you acknowledged your failure - time to move on! I agree, too, that I feel so much better with almost 30 pounds off...no groaning and aches and pains. Can't wait to see how I feel with about 20 more off!!! NightAngel - sorry about your pipes! That is a total pain in the a**! We have an older farmhouse and have to worry about that too. Good to see you again this month! Joy - thank you again, for being the chick in charge! Turtle, pixikat, Sum, Jacqui_D, Woodstock, 183StGB, kelijpa (and forgive me for those I missed) - So good to see you all on here again. You truly inspire me. To all those newcomers - Can't wait to join you on your journeys!!!:grouphug: |
Day 1:
Started at 166.4 yesterday (I don't weigh in on most DownDays) Today is a DownDay so I will be eating very simply/minimally today. Breakfast: Coffee with soy milk Supplements Psyllium husks drink Lunch: Hard boiled egg Vegetable broth Supper: Egg beaters omelette 1/3 cup Vegetable broth I know it seems like too little but the point of JUDDD/IF is to alternate days of near-fasting with high calorie days. It's a kind of calorie cycling. I can look forward to a higher calorie day tomorrow! Exercise: Bosu balance squats Weights - arms/shoulders 10 minute abs video Walking the dog tonight, 2 miles ~ with weights |
Im in again !!

well I have just weight myself and I am not far off what I though I would weigh, thought around 240 and actually 242 pounds. maintained at this weight since I left weight watchers back in sept. now to start again, going for 7 pounds in January.
Allison |
I took my January starting weight - 148 this afternoon, though it's been more like 146 most of the week, so I should probably consider that my starting weight. We'll see what it is first thing in the morning.
I'm planning on counting calories and focusing on a whole foods plant based diet. I cleaned out the junk food in my kitchen the morning, and planned out my meals for tomorrow. I'm set! Let's get started. |
I am in again. I am going to shoot for 6.2 pounds this month. Hopefully I will surpass that but will set it there for now. If I make this goal that will put me at halfway to my goal weight. My reward for that is a new "small" tattoo!!
SW:229.2 CW: 229.2 GW:223 Best of luck to everyone this month WE CAN DO IT!!!! |
I'm pretty new here, but would love to join in! I am going to go for 10lbs in January. I am just starting and really need to do this right this time!
Nicki |
Well, most of my fitness plans fell through for the day, but I walked two miles with 22 pounds of weights tonight. It was a DownDay so I hardly ate anything.
Tomorrow is an UpDay. More food, more exercise. |
SW: 80,7kg
1/3: 1/10: 1/17: 1/24: 1/31: GW: 78,0kg yesterday's exercise: 1h stationary bike yesterday's calories: 1400 hi everybody :) it's great to see so many people join in this month! I decided to return to school a week early, I just can't study at home, and I really need to. Also, I'm dragging on sleep, so I'm taking it slow today and get settled and tackle stuff tomorrow. Have a great day! |

My goal is to lose 4.9 and get to 155
Jan 1 - 159.9 Jan 2 - 162.0 - here we go, really starting with weekly WI tomorrow, so ok with this for now... Jan 31 - 155 |
1/1 - 159
1/2 - 159 GW - 153 Just had a huge veggie omelet for breakfast (fresh mushrooms, onions, spinach and one piece crumbled bacon with one egg fried in olive oil) 6 WW pts and so filling! :hun: It snowed here overnight, so I have to deal with getting to work in the slop. I beat my husband to shoveling the walks, so I got at least a little exercise for today so far. I hate the cold...and the snow is pretty...but it is still too cold.:brr: Have a great day, everyone! |
I'm in! My starting weight from yesterday was 205.4 lbs. and I plan to lose 6 pounds and get under 200 (!, OMG!)
I'll only post on Thursdays after my WW weigh-in because these daily ups and and downs are starting to make me crazy :) Good luck! SW: 205.4 GW: 199.4 |
I'm maintaining at 172. I hope once TOM ends, I'll have a slight whoosh. :crossed: I don't know though. I had quite a few whoosh days leading up to it! Still, I'd settle for a baby whoosh, lol! :bb:
SW: 172 GW: 167 CW: 172 1/1: 172 1/2: 172 1/3: Sum, yay on the drop! :spin: Pixikat, I hope the water weight drops off quickly for you! Drink water! Turtle, it is so good to see you solidly in the 140's! 130's, here you come! :carrot: Susan, good to have you joining us! :goodluck: Joy, way to plan ahead! It's so good that you can see the patterns in your weight loss journey and you don't let them discourage you, but rather, you make adjustments for them! That's success! :bravo: NightAngel, yay on 260! :dancer: And I always weigh in the morning with no clothes on. A few weeks ago, just to see what the difference would be, I weighed at night with clothes on and then again in the morning with clothes off, and it was an 8 lb difference! You can bet I will always weigh naked in the morning, lol! :goodscale: Hi Finale! Glad to have you! :goodluck: DesignChick, I'm sure your weight will drop quickly after your New Year's celebration! Back on plan works wonders! BFR, I cannot imagine how frustrating it must have been to lose your post 5 times! :tantrum: And yet, you still wrote it out all over again. :high: I'm so glad you did because it is inspiring to read about the progress you've made and the steps it took to get here! :carrot: And I agree--this is a great group, and I love seeing new people join us and become a part of it! :grouphug: Boating, your omelet sounds yummy! :T We got snow here too. It's very pretty but we're also going to have to dig out. I'm not a cold weather person either! :brr: Shr1nk1ngme, it's great that you've found a plan that works for you! Good job on the exercise! Keep up the good work! :broc: Marymo, wow! 40 lbs! Go you! :trampo: Workinglikeadog, good to have you here! 4 lbs is a great goal! And I really like the idea of your weekly goal-setting too. I think small steps really help! :goodluck: Stilettolife, hiya chickie! Good goal for this month! Hi SeeMyFeet, lol! Love your name and your avatar! Good luck this month! :goodluck: Allyp, nice job maintaining since September! Good for you! :cb: Kilketay, great job cleaning out your kitchen and planning your meals! That's the way to do it! :flow2: Amanda, good goal and setting a small reward for yourself is a smart idea! :cp: Hi Nicki, so glad to have you! :goodluck: 183, I'm sure you'll feel better getting back to your regular routine. Smart move going back early! Kelijpa, I'm so glad you see the water weight for what it is and don't let it discourage you! Drink lots of water today and hopefully it will drop right back off! :crossed: Rsadler, Onederland! Onederland! Onederland! You can do it! :cheer: |
Happy New Year everyone!!!
I dipped down slightly from my Monday weight and was 201.7 yesterday, hoping to be 200ish by Monday 6th..fingers crossed!! |
Hey everyone! I am seeing lots of awesome goals! I love that we have so many people in this challenge, hopefully it means we can keep each other and ourselves that much more motivated and in high spirits.
boating OMG your omelet does sound delicious!!! Southern oooh a new tatt! do you know what you are going to get and where yet? 183 hopefully school will be nice and quiet and allow much studying... no getting distracted by netflix! that is my main downfall lol shr1nk1ngme I understand that your plan rotates high calorie days with low calorie days from what you said, sounds interesting. what do you eat on high calorie days? Kilketay good for you for cleaning out the kitchen of junk! So much easier to stay on track when it is not there lurking and calling to you. jacqui Im working off, some of it came off yesterday... see!!! It is so cold though it will be more likely be coffee and tea instead of water. With such a big group I don't have the time and energy to do personals for everybody, so I will leave off here for now. Welcome, everyone! Great to see so many people here. Check to see if I got your goals right. Or, got them at all. A couple of them I wasn't sure. It's fine to make your goal "track my weight" or "track my food" or some other action goal -- it doesn't need to be a number.

evening...
finale: awesome, good to see ya.... hey what's your plan??
designchick88: 7 lbs isn't too bad but it does sound like you see trouble coming w vacation/travel...maybe plan for some missteps or plan out your meals in some way? big fat rooster: you did really well last month, don't worry bout the 2 lbs I mean really it's hard to lose at all in December.... I see you mentioned body pains, I get ya there, I have knee trouble this heavy....prob be easier under 200lbs for me... 8lbs seems fine, it's a good place to set a goal and the new year tends to breed motivation! :carrot: kelijpa: I agree, things taste differently when cutting out sugar or carbs...at least after a while... I'm super low carb for this new diet, pasta being my worst....good luck! boatingmommy: yeah we're still working on the pipes...I would love a shower at this point... :( but, it'll work out eventually... you made a good goal this month, January is always great for motivating... :carrot: omelet, I might make one sorta like that in the morning... I like spinach in mine sometimes....pref my onions cooked... sounds good though :) shr1nk1ingme: what is your food plan exactly? it looks protein...protein w low carb? marymo: doing a good job with your goals, keep it up!! :D workinglikeadog: good goal, sounds doable.... I've heard it helps not to eat after dinner and also not to have dinner too late, that been working for you? stilettolife: I see your reward system there.... what's a "poachette"?? fashion thing??? seemyfeet: psyllium on your plan huh? fight fiber thing? what's your plan? allyp: good luck, welcome back? :cheer3: kilketay: whole foods, plant based huh? like vegan or just clean eating? southernbell: good to see you have a reward system, I had a tattoo on mine too when I had rewards up....might just add some, sure is nice to shoot for something besides th end of the rainbow huh?? nickadee: welcome and good luck!! 183stgb: ah, school is a tough one for being on plan sometimes but sounds like maybe less hectic? good luck... :chin: sum38: welcome back and good luck!! Rsadler: omg...onederland...I'm excited for you....:yay::yay::yay: good luck, see you around the board! Jacqui d: don't see why you can't get a whoosh if you didn't during already....I bet you will ;) jennybutler: I am highly interested in your phentermine stuff, that seems like its working out for you? was that the script only thing? They banned that once right? I'm interested... if it's script only my docs have never been interested in helping me get insurance help for anything weight related....eh... pnkrckpixicat: howdy again, good to see ya. looks like you had a lil whoosh there, good job! ajlee: no sweat on a very slight increase, could be retention, will go away just fine....no worries!! gardnerjoy: thanks for managing this new thread, good job keeping w your goals!! darius: hey good to see you again...I forget you're on th other side of the world, so when you post I get confused and check the date sometimes...lol!! :dizzy: |
oops hi, posting at the same time....
lol missed ya
teati: hello and welcome! turtle: hello again....n sweat on the increase I'm sure it's retention for the most part and will come off quickly...water is usually a good idea though good job on recovery tactics!! |
check in:
ok so it's time to write my check in info I guess:
I am going to use what I had on the first rather than before for my start so my goal will be 250 for January. I'm still doing well although I had margarine yesterday which is not allowed in this but it didn't hurt. I don't like much of seafood without something to dip in. Still going for mainly veggies, meat and fruit w a little dairy. the diet is extreme at 500 cals so I'm going more for 1,000 and allowing pork. :) Jan. 1: 260 1/2: 259 1/3: 1/4: 1/5: 1/6: 1/7: 1/8: 1/9: 1/10: 1/11: 1/12: 1/13: 1/14: |
workinglikeadog If you stay on track your body will eventually have to follow along and cooperate. Just stay strong!!
shr1nk1ngme Hooray! ajlee ahh the sodium mighta caused retention, just stay OP and it'll go back the other way again gardener thats a great start! go you! rsadler woot new low at ww weigh in! good job! susan looks like you have some water retention, drink lots of water, with lemon if you like it that way, it helps darius nice drop! teati you can do it! turtle ooops! throw some lemon in with that water, it helps and tastes yummy nightangel yup, that water is coming off, I wish faster but all I can control is my patience. Today I went to the gym and got a decent workout in. I have also been working on my pushups. I do angled pushups cause I don't have the strength for floor ones yet. I moved to a lower angle and can only do one or two at a time :( but soon enough that'll climb and before I know it I will lower my angle again! |
night angel what are you doing? 500 seems SUPER low, 1000 is still crazy low but much more managable if you have the right foods... make sure to take vitamins or something though!
|
Quote:
Yeah NightAngel 500 is hella low. Don't wreck your health please but also don't take nutritional advice from me. |
response....
darius and pnkrckpixicat: eh, yes I know 500 is super low, sometimes people are willing to do anything I guess... I planned it last year before I found out I was pregnant and bought the stuff to try it but I was reading here that the diet (HTC) is not supported here and I thought about it and understand why. It's just too dang low. So it'll be more like IP but I don't buy special stuff I just eat more things with higher protein. As for calories, I've spent so long looking at calories and such that I have a relative idea but am not going with strict adherence, mostly because it's hard enough going low carb when most of what I eat is carbs- cereal, pasta, sandwiches, wraps, chips, and yes pastries and cakes. So, although I do eat other things I've eaten a lot of carbs and tend to find them and overeat.
I'm doing well so far with rare twangs of cravings, kinda wanted a sandwich when I made them for the kids today, yesterday really wanted ice cream from the freezer but totally walked away :encore: Yes I need to find the vitamins I bought for this diet....was a long time ago and I have way too many things :( |
Aw, Sum, thanks! I get as excited for others' progress as I do my own, lol!
JennyB, you can do it! Woohoo Onederland! :cheer: Wow Pixikat, a 2-lb drop overnight! That's awesome! :carrot: And good job on the push-ups! Workinglikeadog, you are so welcome! This is really a great group to be a part of. The ladies and gents on this thread just don't realize how big a part they play in keeping me motivated and if I can help others in the same way, I'm delighted! :D Shr1nk1ngme, yay on the lb down! :dancer: Ajlee, I'm sure that's just a little water from working out. :exercise: (Your body has to repair those muscles!) It will be gone before you know it! Joy, thanks for the list, and great job on the drop! :flow2: Rsadler, yay! Keep it going! :broc: Susan, no worries, just a little water weight! :dizzy: Stay on plan, drink water, and it will drop back off! Darius, woohoo on the good start! :cp: Hi Marion! :welcome: 6 lbs is a good goal! :goodluck: Turtle, you got this! NightAngel, congrats on being a lb down! :cb: I'm glad you aren't doing HTC or 500 calories. I was surprised that you were counting calories on a low-carb diet since going low-carb kind of regulates overeating on its own, but it's not unheard of. Some people just like to know the calorie count, kind of like I want to know how much I weigh every single day. It's just an added way to keep track! |
