WTG Jacqui and PixiKat, hoping to follow you guys!

Minneey, one pound down is better than up, Dec. is tough, but we're strong! I was a bridesmaid in my brother's wedding (a few years ago), don't get too stressed, I've been reading about stress related gain...deep breaths :D

Welcome Sweetkell!

The shoveling went well, was able to get out and then back up the driveway...I wish I could just stay home for the winter

Big Fat Rooster 12-02-2013 09:21 PM

Welcome to the new people, and glad to see so many of you from last months challenge still hanging in and doing so well. :D

Joy, I keep seeing that basket of green 'maters you gathered. Too many to be frying them all. You must be making some chow chow or relish with them?? And maybe, you just might know some other good ways to cook them up? Sure would like you to share those methods if ya do :D

This morning I picked some green tomatoes off the vines, cubed them, dropped them in on a little peanut oil cooking them till they paled down some, then added an egg and some chili to them. That was my breakfast, sure was good. The green tomato only added about 30 calories, the oil about 40, egg 75 for a 150 cal high fibre low sodium very tasty breakfast that lasted me until 2 in the afternoon when I made a tunafish/egg sandwich. It is after 6 now, and I gotta decide what for dinner. Thinking of some grilled salmon with jalapena-pinto beans and a mango for dessert.

yesterday's weigh-in: 77,7kg (171.3lbs)
yesterday's calories: 1500
yesterday's exercise: 80min run (11k)
today's weigh-in: 77,4kg (170.4lbs)
change: -0,4kg (-0.9lbs)

Good morning you guys :)

I lost some weight! woohoo! You must know, I've always been a fat kid and have been at 100+kg from like, age 15 or so. I never actually seen a number on the scale below 95 EVER, so every time I drop down to a new number it feels pretty awesome. I'm having a really good streak lately, so I hope I can keep this up :)

Rhiko did you go for a run? Hope it went well :)

kelijpa awe snow! I like the snow!! But I guess people always say that until they're in it hip-deep.

boatingmommy you'll make goal this month! :dust:

nlauah :welcome2:

gardenerjoy thanks for creating this thread each month and keeping track of it! Pretty awesome.

Jacqui_D good to read you dropped back to 177! :)

watchoutforthatcar 12.2lb is a lot, but you can totally do it! Good luck :)

pnkrckpixikat mmh Chilis... I remember eating there once when I was in the US :) cheese fries :) I'm glad we don't have that kind of stuff in Germany, I'd be eating it all the time! Hope it was delicious :)

Minneey too cool you're a bridesmaid! Hope it isn't to stressful.

sweetkell05 Good to see you join in :)

sweetkell05 green tomatoes are a cool thing. Like nature tricking you into 'don't eat me I ain't ripe yet'. Sneaky things.

Have a nice day

NightAngel26 12-03-2013 01:28 AM

Good evening.... I'd like to join...

my weigh in for this month is 268! Kind of annoying since I was 265 a week or so ago... but that's what I get for eating whatever I want...

so 268/268/259 (9 lbs)

I'm 6 wks postpartum today, don't think I'll just be dropping weight any further so now need a plan... anybody want to share their plans? low cal, low carb, extra exercise, spec diet, etc? I specialize in crash diets ;) and have yet to use my HTC stuff i bought right before I found out I was pregnant... so I should give it a shot since it was rather expensive...

also the gym would be nice....

kelijpa 12-03-2013 06:54 AM

Happy December!
My goal is to lose 3.9 pounds and get into the 150s!

Dec 1 - 163.8
Dec 2 - 162.6
Dec 3 - 161.6

Dec 31 - goal 159.9

Off to a good start, glad to be getting close to my low last month, hopefully if I get below my goal early I'll be able to make it stick for the end of the month!

183, I love the snow except when I have to go out in the car, we have snowshoes, I love it when there's enough snow to use them! It got milder yesterday, then cold again last night so I'll have to check for icy spots before I head out today.

Best to all :sunny:

Rsadler126 12-03-2013 07:54 AM

Chug, chug, chugging along......

Dec 1 - 211.5

12/2 - 161
12/3 - 160
GW - 154

Okay, I have lost these last three pounds about 3 times now. That's got to stop! I was a good girl - stayed within points yesterday and did Turbo Jam last night (in a room full of Christmas tree and decorations - and nothing is broken). Thanks everyone for the encouragement! I'll take the extra willpower dust from all who offer.

Kelijpa - Please keep your snow up there! I love it, but only about the week before Christmas, then I want it gone. Way to go...you are going to make goal in no time the way you are moving on down the scale!

Nightangel26 - Welcome and good luck. I have had pretty good success on Weight Watchers. I track food online and don't do meetings. It works for me, but everyone has their own methods.

183StGB - It feels good, doesn't it, to break the cycle and start seeing the numbers drop. Keep up the good work.

Big FR - Your diet sounds very interesting...spicy. Where are you at that you are still picking tomatoes?

Rhiko - Way to go getting back to the exercising. I fell out of the pattern and had to jump back in. Not fun!

Joy - Thanks again for starting the thread. Looking good only a couple of days in! Way to go!

Uh oh, running out of time - Jacqui, pixikat, stilleto, Sum - and everyone else - keep up the fight and good work!!!

sweetkell - Glad you found us! Great place to get started on your journey!

pnkrckpixikat 12-03-2013 09:00 AM

Good morning!!

Minneey You can do it!! I am sure you will look wonderful at the wedding :)

welcome sweetkell!!!

183stgb if you keep it up the weight will keep coming off! and I was not eating cheese fries :( but my OP dish was yummy :)

nightangel I recently read "Why we get fat and what to do about it" it was talking about how the bodies insulin response to carbs is what causes fat and prevents fat loss. It made alot of sense so I'm giving atkins a try and so far I've been losing steadily. It has only been a couple weeks so I'll let you know how it goes

boatingmommy I will send the willpower fairy your way if I see him!

I am doing good so far, this weekend thru tuesday will be my test as I have 2 tests on tuesday. the last ones for each class.

Big_Fat_Rooster: I did, indeed, need something other than frying to take care of my green tomatoes, especially since most of them were cherry-sized! I put the recipe I used on my blog: http://www.joyweesemoll.com/2013/10/...tomato-recipe/. Your green tomato scrambled eggs sound good!

Jacqui_D 12-03-2013 08:23 PM

177 again today! I think it may be a set point! It's just been so long since I've been at this low a set point, I can't remember for sure, lol! But I've been going back to 177 for going on three weeks now, and the last time I did that, it was at my 197 set point. I think that's exciting! That means my body is working out its new sweet spot, where it would be inclined to settle instead of continuing back up to 197, its next comfort spot, or even worse, 210, my highest set point! And once it adjusts to this set point, it will start heading toward an even lower one! Yay! :trampo:

SW: 177
GW: 171
CW: 177

12/1: 178.5
12/2: 177

Rsadler, hang in there! Maintenance is not a bad thing! :spin:

Watchoutforthatcar, good to see you back! This really is a great thread!

Turtle, no matter how the month starts out, you always finish strong! :flow1:

Pixikat, looking good! Good luck on the tests! :crossed:

Minneey, you can do this! Just really set your mind to it! Don't let anything get in your way! :cheer:

:welcome: sweetkell05! Good to have you! Good luck!

Kelijpa, a great start! You're going to do so well this month! :dancer:

BFR, meals at your house sound delicious! :hungry:

183, congrats on the drop! I'm so happy for you!

:welcome2: NightAngel26! Congrats on the new baby! Don't worry about the 3-lb spike. It's just water and will drop back off! As for diets, I'm not sure what HTC is. I'm on a modified Slow Carb Diet, which is very low carb for 6 days a week with a "cheat day" the 7th day of the week. We are all different and I believe there's a successful plan out there for each of us. You just have to find what works best for you! Good luck!

Boatingmommy, good job on the Turbo Jam and avoiding the Christmas decorations, lol! :tree:

Sum, you're on your way down! Keep it up! :cp:

Joy, thank you for the list! It is always so nice of you to do that for us! :thanks:

Rhiko 12-03-2013 08:42 PM

Well, darn. I weighed myself today and I'm 64.2kgs! :yikes: Holy mackerel, how did that happen? (Probably because I've stopped my midnight snacking!)

Thanks :D I'm glad it was only water weight because I was having lots of fizzy drinks (soda) and 3/4 of a butter cake within the week

Yes, I did get back out. I only did 3.5kms because I still had my TOM and by the 3km mark I was really sore. No worries though. Once my TOM has stopped giving me pain and grief (in a few days) I'll be back out there for a long one! My body can't wait to get back out there.

No, it isn't the best because the body isn't used to it. But, I'm stubborn and make my body do things it thinks it's not ready for, anyway

183StGB 12-03-2013 11:50 PM

yesterday's weigh-in: 77,4kg (170.4lbs)
yesterday's calories: 1500
yesterday's exercise: 1h crossfit
today's weigh-in: 78,0kg (172lbs)
change: +0,6kg (+1.6lbs)

Good morning :)

the weight came back :( uurgh. I did everything right yesterday, so I'm a little annoyed. But sine there is no reason for the gain, I'm sure it'll be gone just as fast :)
I'm going on my first field trip in Uni ever today -- I'm actually only going because a friend asked me to come, but I found out that next to the education part of it there is free time at the Christmas fair... and Christmas fairs are amazing :) So I'm happy.

Hope you have a good day!
