I'm getting anxious about Thursday's weigh in day. I changed it up a bit this week and did my own version of the Wendie Plan--not sure it that was a good move. Thursday's number should be a good indicator. On the up side of things, I FINALLY went out for a run today. I haven't been out for a solid two weeks. Today I ran my longest run yet (5.12 miles!). There were brief stops along the way to catch my breath and for water. But overall I am super happy with getting outside and taking charge of my exercise. I tend to overcompensate with food on days I work out--so I;m trying really hard to fight the urge to have a bowl of cereal right now.

Hope everyone's week is off to a good start!! Thanks for the check in...it always helps.

Minneey, Let us know which wins out, the soup or pizza (soup! soup! soup! :cheer:).

Suds, good job on getting out there and running! :carrot:

183, glad to see the scale's still moving for you! :cp:

up .1 lb after a Long run again last night (and eating on plan) and i am starting to see this pattern of not losing after my long runs. I think I've seen chicks posting about this phenomenon before, so I am happy to accept it and stick with the plan!

Jacqui_D - way to go, happy to see great results for you this morning!

gardenerjoy - thanks for keeping such great track of all the goals - so awesome!

Minneey - if i can just say, willpower or not on the weekend, your results are amazing. Seems like you have the willpower where you need it -- way to go with the running and the intense workouts!!

Emme I'm sending wavelengths of motivational energy your way -- i think giving the lunch gym another shot this fall sounds like a great idea. It is hard to get in to the habit, isn't it. I bet you will feel great if you do decide to do it!

Woodstock, thanks for the motivational energy! You're doing awesome with two pounds down already!

Suds, how awesome that you went for that long of a run. I'm working my way back up to a 5k and so far I'm only up to about 2 miles. I'll get there, though. Slowly but surely!

Turtle, look at you go!! :)

Minneey 10-09-2013 05:32 PM

My crazy exercise regime is paying off. Exhausting but effective! Not sustainable though. Think i need to see this time as just a two month hit to get me trim for my brother's wedding at Christmas...

I've realized that I consume food as though I will never see it again. I don't bite food--I shovel it in. I don't chew 15 times and wallow, I just gulp. I don't intentionally eat a meal, I pick and graze and graze and graze. It's nuts! Lately I've found a strategy that has seemed to alter my way of thinking. I keep telling myself you are done with today's calories---but don't worry tomorrow you get a whole new set! This seems to be working as I avoid the kitchen and late night snacks.

Thanks for all the support regarding the big run yesterday. I was definitely feeling the after affects today. But I felt strong and proud and awesome! Crossing my fingers for weigh in tomorrow. Keep working hard everyone!

I’m back from my business trip. As I feared, I was put in quite a few situations where I had a choice between eating something off plan or eating nothing. A few times, I chose to not eat…but I could only do that so often. Long story short, I gained a half pound, which puts me back to where I started October. I suppose it could have been worse. Hopefully, I will lose it again in the next day or so.

Turtle: Woohoo, a 160! You’ll soon be in the 150’s. My fingers are crossed for a whoosh once TOM is over!

Jacqui: I’m glad to see you got rid of the 190’s so quickly…let’s hope that’s the last of them!

Joy: I hope I do as well as you in eliminating the extra weight from my business trip.

Emme: You’re back in ONEderland! Pretty soon, you’ll be there permanently!

Woodstock: Sometimes our bodies retain water when we step up the pace in our existing exercise routines. I suspect that’s what you’re seeing.

Minneey: Holy smokes…5 lbs since the beginning of October…you go, girl!

183StGB: You’re doing well so far!

Rated: Keep going…

Campana, stilettolife & BFR: Good job losing 2 lbs since the beginning of the month!

cincorn: Losing 2.2 lbs. in the first 8 days is a great result…and puts you in great shape to lose 7.4 lbs for the month!

Sum: A little over 2 lbs in just over a week…good job!

Suds: Way to go with the running! Good luck with Thursday’s weigh-in.

Beth & dcapulet: Welcome and good luck with your October goals!
