zoesmom ~ You are hilarious! So glad you are off to a great start today. I think that always does help make the day a little brighter as well. Are you going to the gym today?
sum38 ~ Oh how I wish. I just miss tight tanktops and jeans. But I'm totally up for some short shorts, especially on vacation. alinnell ~ Good luck with the tournament today. it sounds like a lot of fun. I'm sure it will be difficult with the food but I'm sure you will get through it just fine. :congrat: on the loss to! Good job! Any loss is not a gain, so kudos! Well so far so good today. Trying to relax but there is always so much to do around the house. Guess I'll go fish that hotwheel out of the toilet. Oh joy! |

Congratulations, guys for being in the top 10 %-wise this week!
I also congratulate everyone else that is still working at it with losses or not! That is the real battle, not to give up when you're feeling defeated. :welcome: Nathalie! Delphi- Wait until Monday to work out? No wayyyy!! Hahaha! The elliptical trainer is down there. The smell is a lot better this am down there and I think I will go ahead and open both windows, I forgot we have small windows down there, thanks for the reminder! :) I will also have 2 fans down there, one towards the steps/door to upstairs and one towards me, I will be only staying there for an hour max to work out then get outta there. Re: your race- I would be such a bundle of nerves too!! 195 and 5'8, I doubt you've got a big butt but I totally understand the fat girl complex, I think a lot of us have that too!! You got this, you have been training since January! I am a little envious too! Be sure to get some rest (if you're able to, lol) before since it sounds like it's gonna be a looooong day! Zoesmom- That sucks!! I giggled when you said why do they have to make them so tight?! Well, so your tire can stay on! :D You're awesome for changing it out. I actually would have called the BF or my bro to come. Now that I think of it, I don't even think I have a jack in my trunk?! Yikes. Pasta sauce over veggies was more calories? WTH? They must have doused the pasta sauce and veggies in oil/butter or something. That EAS shake with black coffee sounds REALLY good!!! I love lattes! :swoon: Glad you didn't let yesterday's fiasco pull you down! Happy Friday to you too, hon! Alinnell- Congrats on your loss, that was 5% towards your goal! Yikes, I'd be asking for a boatload or two of willpower too! I absolutely love BWW (acid-reflux be damned)! Good luck with the golfing (sounds like fun) and food/drink! You can do it! Frieden- Anytime!!! Have a great weekend! Sum38- Tiny tees, sure!!! Short shorts? Ahhh, I dunno about that with my legs. I swear I have thick tree trunk legs (pear-shaped gal here.) _____________________________________ Not doing much today/tonight- laundry and working out. Pretty cold out today so I'm thinking of making some sort of soup (likely potato, bacon, some cauliflower and sauteed onions since it's easy!) Have a great weekend, all!! |

Aw, Delphi. I personally love to cook but totally loathe the clean-up afterwards, lol. Maybe look for easy one-dish/pot casserole-types? Crockpot meals? The type of meals/recipes where you just throw it all in, stir then bake/cook are my faves.
You can just roast veggies and meat as well as potatoes/starches in the oven. I have done all of the above in one dish to cut back on the clean up a couple of times before with fish and chicken- cut up potatoes and veggies, toss in some herbs/spices and olive oil, put greased baking dish then seasoned/flavored meat on top. Cover with foil and bake at 350 for 20 minutes then last 10 without foil. I love this recipe for easy brown rice- no standing over the stove and stirring, etc and frankly, my rice cooker always scorches the bottom and I end up with some really hard crunchy rice, not cool. Hope that helps somewhat?? |
wolfgirl - I agree that amandie is pretty awesome. And kudos for being a top tenner
Delphi - I LOVE cooking, but like amandie, I hate the clean up. But my biggest downfall is baking as I am a cake baker/decorator hobbyist so I ALWAYS have some kind of treat sitting around. I've gotten smart about it though, I only make cakes that I intend to give away now, and if I have a new recipe I want to try, I only make one mini cupcake. Much better than the alternative! amandie - that would be me who fixed the spreadsheet. I wanted to do more, but wasn't sure if I was stepping on toes so stopped. I am an Excel junkie and love tooling around in various spreadsheets. The tire sucked...but hubby was stuck a good 2 hours away and kiddo was hungry. So, mom's gotta do what a mom has to do. I managed. And yeah...I was over my calorie budget by I guess 200 calories or so. When I got home, I looked up the values and was SHOCKED by it. And then of course, I had to guesstimate how much I had. I likely over guessed, but I would rather do that than under guess. All in all, nothing a little cardio can't fix. And yes. The EAS Latte. The hardest part of counting calories was giving my daily latte up. I am SO glad I have an alternative to that and it doesn't taste like complete poop. Too touch on a subject from a couple days ago and gyms.... I didn't go to the gym today, but I went jogging around my apartment complex several times. Now, I am quite proud of what I have accomplished. Last August, I dang near died due to severe lung issues, was diagnosed with ARDS, has severe asthma, was an on O2 tank for what felt like forever, and I was only 29. I am determined to not live through that again, because next time, I just might not. Anyways, I've come a long way. Lost a good chunk of weight, have a lot more to go. Went from not being able to walk up my stairs to actively jogging for close to an hour. I mean, it might be a lot, but to me, it is. I hated life 8 months ago. Now, I want ever second to count. Anyways, one of the reasons I hate going to the gym alone is the fear of public ridicule. But, I made good on a deal and I have done it once this week...plan to go more, but work in progress. I have went a few times with hubby, but only once alone. BUT... I started jogging this week to try and get used to being in public eye by myself. I went out this afternoon even. I made a few laps around our entire complex, just now getting back. Douche Bag McGee is SITTING on his tailgate every time I pass him. You know the kind...the one that genetics favored in the looks department but apparently forgot about the brains. Anyways, I pass him once and he hollers out, "RUN, FORREST, RUN!" I ignore him. Whatever. Second time, he is still there. Third time he hollers out, "DAMN FATTY! YOU JUST DON'T KNOW WHEN TO QUIT, DO YA?!" Yeah. He can rot. I mean, seriously. He can rot. Not only can he rot, he do us all a favor and quit breathing. I hate people sometimes. (Disclaimer...he did NOT hurt my feelings or my pride. He just ROYALLY pissed me off as there are numerous folks who are overweight/obese that fear exercising because of public ridicule from jerk offs like that guy. I know. I USED to be one of them and still, in a way am.) |
Zoesmom- Nah, not stepping on any toes here! I appreciate ANY help I can get! I am not excel-savvy at all, lol! 200 cals over isn't too bad and like you said, just a little bit of cardio will burn that off or eating a little less over the few days (50 cals less over 4 days would do the trick, etc.)
doucebagmcgee (not worthy of caps here at all) can just go and stop breathing. Man, this is one of these times that I'm happy I'm deaf so I don't have to hear any of that crap from others. Although, it does make me wonder if people have yelled out stupid stuff like that to me over the years and I just didn't hear it. I'm glad you didn't let him get to you personally and definitely, it is because of people like him that we (overweight/obese) are afraid to work out in public. Now, I would be veryveryvery surprised if anyone tried that crap in a gym full of other people. I would embarrass the heck out of them very LOUDLY- like "WOW did you just really say that to me?!", etc, lol. You can trust me on that one! You.Are.AWESOME. |
Great job, everyone! I love looking at the spreadsheet and seeing how awesomely everyone is doing!
Sum: Count me in on the short shorts and tiny tees! All part of our plan to regain babedom, right;) |
