I'm a bit late, but totally down!

Shooting high this month to try to kick my butt into shape. For the next week (but I'm trying for the rest of the month) to be off all complex carbs (so no bread, pasta, rice, etc.).

@mccull83: expecting to lose 5 pounds a week is super unrealistic, and unhealthy as well! you're only supposed to lose 1-2 pounds a week - that's the healthy number. anything more than that and your body starts eating much needed muscle as well as fat, plus you're more likely to go into starvation mode and develop eating disorders, not to mention ruining your metabolism possibly for life! just be careful that you're not expecting too much of yourself, because if you don't see those huge numbers there's a bigger tendency to give up instead of keep going!

WTG everyone! Those numbers are looking good! Still on track but my tougher days are coming later in the month... first tough one is next Friday-Monday.

Jrkessel, you are totally right. (that's funny cause I was just thinking to myself exactly what you wrote right before I logged on today) I got caught up in loosing 15 pounds that first month and was thinking "yeay, I can do this. I can totally loose 15 the next month too before slowing down." This week I am realizing how foolish that was so I am going to change the goal:

CW: 246
GW: 240

Feeling pretty down tonight. Seems like I can't break through 219-218 and get back down to 216! so tired of my weight shifting so much throughout the week. about ready to throw out my scale!

jrkessle: repeat "it's only data" about a hundred times.
The common advice is to give a new plan, like your low-carb one, three weeks to see if it's going to work for you (meaning, of course, that it gets results on the scale AND doesn't drive you crazy).
Also, there's wisdom out there that we should let our weight rest at plateaus for weeks or even months before pushing it down again. I only did that willingly once when I was losing, but I found it helpful when the scale didn't move to keep it in the back of my mind that I could make the choice to practice maintenance for awhile.

I'm at 9 of 25 days below 75.6kgs in February.
