Thanks for the encouragement and suggestions, esp Karen31 and Workinglikeadog. It is a good suggestion to look at other activities as "walking equivalents." I will probably go with some formula like 4 miles on the bike=1 mile walking. I like to log a fair number of bike miles in the summer and it hardly seems fair to count bike miles equal to foot miles.
Total week1= 17.5 (4.5 walk, 13.0 treadmill running)

Good morning walkers, hope you all are doing well and racking in the miles, one at a time! Welcome curlysue, glad you've joined this thread.
Still have my 10,000 step/day challenge going and doing well. I am journaling my foods and doing better at nibbling, helps to pre-plan.
Keep walking! Diana

Hi. I should get my rear in gear and join up again. I'm like a slug so maybe this will help again.

I'm back now after exam time and getting back on the wagon now that I've two weeks off from college.
For every 15 minutes of exercise (on average it takes me 15 minutes to walk a mile), I will count it as a mile. However, I've included weight lifting also in my calculation of 22 miles for this month so far. I don't know if that would be cheating. Maybe I won't add in weight lifting from now on.
Keep on going ladies!
